Pulled the trigger on this one after I had issues with the R8

You should be able to get it fixed under their 5 years warranty period.

I ended up requesting a refund and used the amazon credit towards the R6. Much happier with the R6 in the hand, R8 almost felt toyish with my banana fingers, in saying that bang for buck a great camera still!

      • +2

Great. I went from R8 to R6 ii last year myself. It does everything better but I miss the lightness of the R8 when walkabout.

      • Yea R8 is very good (especially the price you pay for a top tier sensor) but when you start to do anything serious with it the physical body/controls can be somewhat limiting/frustrating.

I actually bought an R8 and got it modified for astro use…frustratingly though up to this point ZWO are still not supporting the body with their ASIAIR.

  • Sold by Becextech - is this grey market stock?

    • +2

Bexectech is a different price $3481 and is grey market.

      Amazon AU is $3486.67.

  • +5

Just FYI, $3,298.26 in Amazon Business, sold by Amazon AU.

    • I am in Amazon Biz, still seeing $3486.

      • $3363 for me in Biz

      • did you guys try to checkout

        • I logged out and back in as biz, now seeing $3278, but not getting the battery free. The non biz
price does take off the battery price at check out.

  • It just changed to 17% off at $3,569.96 for me.

    • @TerrorT price is back down even further now, it's more volatile that crypto! :D

  • Ahh is this why the R6 II prices are falling

  • FYI The R6 MKii is almost cheaper to buy new from Amazon than it is to buy second hand through marketplace now.

  • It doesn't ship to Perth apparently.

  • Looking good but it's 2x my laptop and my tv.

    • +2

Get a better laptop and TV

  • Interesting. Around the same price as Japan with these discounts now. If only I had waited 2 months for this…..

  • Anyone able to get it shipped via Amazon instead of Becextech? It says doesn’t ship on my address. Im in Sydney and tried to ship to my brother in Newcastle with no success.

    • I'm in Sydney and the Amazon listing seems to be able to ship to me fine.

I'm still rocking the R6 original. Don't see the need to upgrade, neither will my clients see a difference in image quality.

FYI, If you're after a spare LP-E6P (I am a professional photographer with 3x R5ii's) I've switched completely to the NEEWER version. They last marginally longer than the OEM, and have USB-C ports on them for charging. I've used them for hundreds of shoots at this point.

The batteries are 1/3 the price of the original, but if they were a similar price, I'd still recommend them.

    • They have a LP-E6P version now too? I have plenty of their NH version which is pretty much the only one I am aware of that can achieve H+ shooting but I do find it to slip out of it sooner than the OEM NH.

      • I'm not much of a video guy, but from memory if you use NH batteries, some of the frame rates are not availalbe, and possibly lower FPS in stills. Also, the Neewer is 2400mah and definitely lasts longer. I use 2 in a grip, so very rarely runs out of juice.

        • Oh H+ as in highest FPS shooting in stills (I'm not video guy either haha). I found the OEM seems to stay in H+ longer than the Neewer version but really a non issue unless you're a sports guy; the Neewer's really are great value for money.

          • @basketballfreak6: The Neewer is fully decoded, so literally no difference apart from the Neewer lasting longer and having that beautiful USB-C charging port on it! :) I love not taking the Canon chargers around with me.

  • Argh so tempted in picking one up especially I was offered a decent trade in price for my R6II and my dad's heading overseas soon…but ultimately decided my money's probably better saved for the upcoming RF 14mm f/1.4…

Oh wells got until end of today to change my mind lol…

    • +1

I want to try the budget RF 45mm F1.2 STM one day…

      • +1

Ngl I’m definitely interested in that lens as well having a fast compact lens like that would be awesome for walk around and food.

I want to get the RF 14 mainly due to how light and compact it is…I currently have the Sigma 14 1.8 which is a phenomenal lens but geez the size and weight with the adapter adds up when you’re travelling…

Spent a whole month overseas late last year between Norway and Japan (don’t ask me why I planned it as such lol) and oh boy did that make me realise I want to find ways to lighten up my kit lol…

  • Need camera expert advice. Looking for a great travel camera that kills phone quality.

    • Too broad a question.. budget, weight, APS vs FF, types of photos (landscape, wildlife, travel, sports, portraits).. My short answer is Canon R6III seems to be an amazing piece of kit.. mirrorless is the way to go but I have an older R6 and can;t comment on other brands and budgets..

    • I would recommend this Lumix s9 kit for value but you missed the boat by a month https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/945981
