What does it do that the in-built Mac OS screen recorder doesn't do?

    • -2

The main difference appears to be the ability to also record system audio, whereas the inbuilt recorder can only record microphone audio.

      • That's incorrect. The default recorder DOES record system audio

        • It does?
I even tested it yesterday before commenting.

    • nah I will stick wtih screenflow thanks its still the best screen recording software on mac os.

      • Thanks for this suggestion!

      • It should be better for $264 AUD.

        • i bought it way back when it was 99 bucks when it first go released. I have had it since the very begining and only paid for upgrades which is about 30 bucks or so a year.

1.0.1 is coming in a few days with better recording qualities and annotation features.

What can this do, that OBS (which is free) cant?

        • -2

This is version 1, bro. Please subscribe to me, and you will find a difference as the app develops. And OBS is banned by Apple. Why is it free ? think about it

What the hell are you talking about? Instead of saying "think about it" - you're the one trying to sell something here. Why don't you tell me what I'm missing?

            OBS is available https://obsproject.com/download here

It's also free and open source, I can literally read the code if I want and verify what is running on my computer. Something I can't do with what you're selling.

            This is version 1, bro.

Well then why don't you tell me what you plan on adding that QuickTime, OBS and the built in Mac screen recorder can't do? Bro.

            • @ferry594: OBS is a great app. If you download it from https://obsproject.com/download, it’s safe and widely trusted. OBS doesn’t appear on the Mac App Store mainly because it needs system-level capabilities (and a plugin model) that don’t fit Apple’s sandbox and App Store security requirements. It’s also released under the GPL license, which can be difficult to align with App Store distribution.
My app has a different scope and focus from OBS. Starting from v1.0.1, you’ll notice it behaves differently from QuickTime, and I’ll keep improving it step by step to make those differences clearer—especially in areas where a simpler workflow matters.

@shanda966: Mate the least you can do is respond to me without using AI to draft a message.

You've used a lot of words to say nothing of value. I asked what it can do that the other free, built in options can do. And you have yet again said 'trust me bro'.

For anyone else reading this - for the love of god don't waste your money on this app.

                • @ferry594: I need AI to soften my sentence, but my point is exactly there. I’ll let you know when version 1.0.1 goes live, okay? It is just queuing for Apple's review, and should be in this week.
I really appreciate your persistence. Instead of hinting here and there, feel free to tell me directly what features you’d like to see. If Apple’s policies allow it, I’ll definitely consider adding them.

@shanda966: Why don't you just tell me what you've got planned for your update instead of playing a guessing game? I'm not a mind reader.

@ferry594: Don't you sleep? Take care of yourself.. 1.0.1 will be live in this week.

@ferry594: Typical new member, been around for half a minute and already dictating which deals are good/bad.

                    • @ferry594: Hi, version 1.0.1 is now available with basic annotation support. More professional features will be added in the next update.

  • +1

Most screen recorders are either overly complex or locked behind subscriptions. I wanted something fast, clean, and affordable for everyday professional use.

Quicktime Player or OBS Studio are both free, easy to use, and reliable.

  • +2

While OBS is slightly more complex, it's worthwhile to learn how to use it as it's become a standard piece of software for video capture/production. It's also free

  • How does this compare to something like Screen Studio, which has editing and focus zoom capabilities?

    • it's not a subscription

      • Ah yes, because I needed purchase clarification which includes editing and focus zoom.

  • +1

Quicktime does the job, and at $0 the price is good too.
