Be sure you have a Liquorland connected to your chosen Coles store. Maybe try editing the pickup for a nearby suburb.

      • In nsw but could never get it work. Kept getting message saying not available for the selected slot. Tried different days different time, no luck.

I was getting two cartons of XXXX for $114.

so I read a few articles and a few reddit posts mentioning that they had been misleading about "Down down" during and after covid.

anyone care to discuss their experience?

my experience with a tin of coffee I would buy, used to be $10 a tin normal/full price, and $8 a tin on special (every 2nd week etc). now the "Everyday price" is $9. with no more sales.

also Earth choice Laundry liquid price ime buying semi regularly is the price has gone UP UP!

so you disagree? prices have been Down down for you? do you think save25 is saving actual $25?

I also noticed they started selling milk/yogurts until days before expiry, like 2 days, 3 days. but that's gotten back to normal now.

        • Couldn't care less. The help gets the groceries.

The average price of everything is up 25% since 2020.

      Inflation is up, up…

      • +3

Yes, but what drives inflation? The cost of products for which a major part has been set by the duopoly that we have.
And of course inflation drives interest rates. So everyone suffers and the only thing going down, down are real wages - also due to inflation which these 2 contributed too.
Meanwhile: The Woolworths (ASX: WOW) share price experienced its best one-day gain on record following the release of its 2026 half-year results. On Wednesday, 25 February 2026, the stock surged by approximately 13% to close at $35.63.

        • +1

Share prices of publically listed companies represent the value held by it's owners - Woolworths investors (individuals and institutional), which includes all or nearly all Australians who hold them in their diversified superannuation investments.

Price volatility (short-term) aside, WOW shares are +9.12% (growth ex-dividend) in the last 5 years and have been less than the beta of the broader market in that time. The analysis of that is complex, but certainly the inflationary pressures on their costs (which are at least partially passed on to customers) have been a factor. Another factor holding back a company which is very mature and holds a large market share in it's TAM is just how small it's profit margins are, Coles too, which are very hard to protect when costs spike.

Inflation is determined by demand and supply (market behaviour). Interest rates are also set in a free market (banking competition), but influenced by lending rates determined by the RBA, which considers inflation data in it's settings (as well as other economic metrics, e.g. GDP, productivity, wages). WPI has been historically low in the last 10 years at ~2.3%, whereas CPI has averaged it's target band of 2.5-3.0% but with a lot more volatility in this period (<1.0% in late 2010s, up to 7% after the pandemic response in 2022), representing a small margin of real wages reduction, in the context of a much longer-term growth trajectory in Australia.
