  • A ‘new customer’ is a customer who has not been with the same retailer in the past 12 months.

This looks like a new condition. I previously used the same provider multiple times within the same year.

    • Seems they’ve been losing money from all the churners.

      • Damn those Churners shakes fist

    • So if i was with Powershop 6 months ago I am not eligible?

    • this has been there in the past few promos already

    • Sign up under another family member's name

  • Does it stacks with Powershop sign up credit?

    • No

      • It stacked when I signed up last year.

        • Last year the signup credits were displayed on the econnex search results page, but now they aren't.

  • Waiting for my cards way longer than I should have. After contacting the support i was told it would show up by mid February. Never arrived

    • Use to take exactly 90 days, now it takes ~120 days (almost 4 months) but yeah painful wait.

      • Which would even be fine if they weren't lying about it.

        • I've always had them arrive, but I have had them arrive outside the period where the terms and conditions say that they should.

    • My last sign up I got told there was no record of a promotion being active at that time
Was linked from here. Waiting on support for their 'investigation'

      • I had same thing. Lucky I took screen shots to prove it.

    • I am really sorry to hear about such experience, could you please sent a PM so that I can assist you accordingly.

  • Same experience, never got my vouchers.

  • Signed up last time for Alinta gas. Stayed 45+ days as per T&C. The gift card was rejected because, from Econnex
"Promotional gift card eligibility is determined based on the retailer’s campaign terms at the time of sign-up. In many cases, if the retailer’s system identifies a recent or prior account history for the same provider and property through Econnex Comparison, the campaign may be marked as ineligible—even if the service transfer proceeds successfully. In such cases, the reward is not triggered, as validation is completed directly through the retailer’s campaign assessment process."
Is it just me or this condition is hidden?

    • That's some sneaky shit right there. Vague, open ended language designed to break the Retailers/eConnex's obligations.

OP, care to provide some clarity on this?

    • I assume they are well aware of all their wrong doing. There's a rep here and yet doesn't give a crap to respond to people having issues. Doesn't put the company in a good light

  • do i need to switch both electricity and gas together to powershop or do it separately?

  • can i use the gift card to buy another coles gift card? as ecconex gives only 3 months validity

    • I think you can, it's just a mastercard giftcard.

      • nice

  • cannot change gas as list is showing no globird? and bill details does not show powershop?

  • Switching to PowerShop via Econnex was the best decision I made. We effectively haven't paid electricity since July last year with all the credit we got from the sign-up offer + using someone's referral code ($75) all the people that used our referral code (5 x $75 referrals) + government rebate. We're not heavy electricity users mind you. But it just kept on adding credit to my account, and I still have some left. And that's not including the e-gift cards, which we used to pay for part of the petrol for a Christmas road trip. Sure, you need to wait a while before receiving them, or maybe follow-up with them in some cases (we didn't need to) but we thought it was worth it.

Just need to make sure once signed up to call them so they switch your electricity account to their cheaper plan because the only option available on econnex (at the time I signed up at least) was not their cheaper rates. Process to switch was super easy and fast. And didn't void the intro offer or gift cards.

    • Just need to make sure once signed up to call them so they switch your electricity account to their cheaper plan

You signed on the website to powershop then call them to switch to cheaper powershop plan ?

      • Correct. I called after a few days after my electricity had been switched to them, they changed the plan right away.

    • how can you stack econnext with someone's referral code ($75) ??????

      • Yeah my bad, I didn't get that! Can't edit my original message, thanks for picking this up.

    • How u got so many 75 referrels?. And how to apply again and again

      • Referred someone from ozb and the rest was from posting my referral code to a Reddit thread about PowerShop that I found doing research about them before signing up: https://www.reddit.com/r/powershop/comments/1cuuabg/comment/…

        • Cant be used eith econex

          • @Zeee: I got $75 multiple times because people used my referral code to sign up to Powershop. Not because I used someone's referral code to sign up to Powershop.

  • Looks like the party's over folks!

    • What do you mean?

  • I enter my postcode and suburb and click the button and nothing happens. Any advice?

    • You can try using the same link in incognito window as there might be a cache and cookies issue.

      • Thanks, clearing cache worked. No gas plan offered though.

  • Manyo. Can I please confirm if I have an email from Powershop that my account was closed on the 26/02/25, would I classify as a new customer if I sign up tomorrow (27/02/26)? Thank you.

    • Once you sign up with any retailer, you wont get it straight away. They will start when the current provider ends,

For examples, You are currently with A Energy, your bill day circle ends at 10th every month. You sign up to B Energy on 25th. Then B will notify A that you already ported out.

So A will do the last reading on 11th. Probably send you the last bill on 13th and B taking over from 11th.

So technically your new start day with B Energy is 11th not 25th.

      • Thank you for this. Something I overlooked.

    • Yes you can switch but you will need to be active account holder and should not have any account at present with powershop

      • Do you mean I can use the same online account as I did before but I should not have any current services with Powershop? As mentioned above, the last Powershop service I had was closed on 25/02/25.

        • Correct.

  • Why can't we stack the sign up bonus with this deal?

    • Because powershop wants to make more money

  • I am on a quarterly billing cycle. Will I have to wait for billing period to end? I thought these days it was instant.

Also, any reason for early expiry?

    • No particular reason for early expiry. it was an organizational decision to stop the present campaign for now.

      • Will I have to wait for my quarterly billing cycle to end before the transfer happens? I had signed up earlier today when active.

  • I am waiting to sign up for AGL Business Smart Saver, in their website they have this offer "That's $300 for electricity and $200 for gas. Simply stay for 90 days." Can this be applied when I sign up through Econnex AGL Business Smart Saver

  • Customer service is throwing completely different versions of terms and conditions at me after issues with my “gift card”. A waste of time.

  • I signed up 23rd Jan and just got my $175 gift card yesterday 13th April.

  • Has anybody received this ? Getting close to 4 months since sign up

    • called y'day and they said there's an issue with their provider and mostly will be today or tomorrow

      • Received mine today evening and the provider seems to have been changed from Karta to Blackhawk
