Seriously Samsung? How can you do this to us?

    • +6

I got negged into oblivion in another deal for asking where the deals were

      • +6

and someone’s negged here again lol. This is objectively worse than the previous years

        • -2

I negged you because I don't like bepis. The ultimate drink is slurm.

      • +1

This is a deal for people who are not upgrading from the S24 or S25 series. But still no new tech what so ever!

        • +6

New privacy-screen tech on the Ultra to be fair. Never seen that in a phone before

          • +1

@Benjamin7711: You can get the same thing with a $20 privacy glass screen protector

            • +1

              @CodeXD: $20? try $8-11 from aliexpress

            • +10

@CodeXD: Cheap privacy screen protectors do not disable wide-angle pixels, they cause grainy texturing, overall screen dimming, they scratch easily, and they can reduce fingerprint sensor performance. So not really the "same thing" but it's a cheaper option than buying the S26 Ultra.

              • @SiliconeFries: Get decent $30/2unit privacy ones that give great optics, fingerprint compatibility and are and absolute sinch to put on. I'm presonally recomending the magic john one over almost a decade of being a whitestone fanboi.

                • +1

@Whiplash: They still look crap though lol
The hardware tech sounds pretty good.

                • -1

@Whiplash: Hard pass. Flagship screens are too gorgeous to sully with 'protectors'. My S25 Ultra's screen is still in perfect condition after a year of naked use.

                  • +2

@SiliconeFries: Now you've said that you'll probably drop it.
Tempered glass protectors are fine, been using them for years. A screen is a screen but will cost a decent amount to replace.

            • +13

@CodeXD: These are individual pixels built into the hardware that you can also apply to specific notifications or the lock screen if you'd like. The two are not comparable, this is new tech that you can toggle. It hasn't been implemented in a smart phone previously. I don't think anyone even knew it was possible. People ask for innovation, when it's implemented they complain. Apple will be frothing at the mouth to add something so technically beautiful.

              • +1

@spacemannn: Yes but based on some initial first thoughts, apparently the overall performance of the screen compared to the S25U, it's not that great. And apparently it makes the resolution look horrible. Might not notice it but it's a down side.

            • +2

              @CodeXD: Definitely isn't comparable

        • +1

Also with a stick-on privacy screen if you tilt to landscape and you're wearing polarised sunglasses, the screen will be blacked out. Apparently the inbuilt privacy screen uses circulated polirisation, so it won't be blacked out if you tilt it whilst wearing polarised sunnies

          • @JediG: Yes that would be annoying AF.

    • -1

I actually think the sales are pretty great.
      Picked up s26 ultra 256gb + buds 4 for $1240
      With the code stacking.
I'll sell my pixel 10 pro privately will probably be close to breaking even

      • It doesn't seem too bad to me either, especially compared to other brands.

Seems about the same as last year, although I JB HI FI deal was the one to go for last year.

        https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/890072

        • -1

If you read the comments, there were people in there that were getting the Ultra for $600 after all the trade in bonuses and code stacking etc. I get that this might seem like a good deal still compared to the inflated RRPs but previous years were definitely a lot better, there were only like 2 codes this time that weren’t targeted and one was for accessories only..

          • @BepisCola: Youve read it, why not link it the $600 s25 ultras?

              • @BepisCola: You're replying to a comment talking about the Ultra, I also explicitly mentioned the Ultra. You yourself talked about the ultra

                You linked a base s25

                • -2

@Butt Scratcher: Oops must have misread. On page 2 there is a comment which is about the Ultra for $800ish. That’s still a lot better than this year. Either way I think its obvious the phone itself is not worth the RRP - you can get something like an Oppo Find X9 Pro from Singapore for like $1300 which is a much better phone imo.

      • Yeah people forget you can sell your previous phone for good money.

It was still easier in the old pixel days when they were $999 and you could stack all the trade in and preorder vouchers and get gift vouchers and extras.

  • +46

This years deal is lame. Only a $100 off voucher and $200 accessories voucher.

In past years usually $500 cheaper with stacking vouchers.

And no jota form for a free watch.

    Hard pass.

    • +7

Agree - no feal without stackable Tradein Bonus

    • +17

Still better than Apple, with $0 discount.

    • +1

But the pricing starts with 25% off already. I mean $1281 is less than what I paid for S25 Ultra last year. If I also include Buds 4 Pro, its $1352. Again not bad at all.

    • -2

The phone itself is lame. it's a mid-ranger in all aspects but the SOC. Samsung is now early days Xiaomi at ~2-3x the price. IMO very hard sell vs the usual ~$300 moto phones. You're paying about $800 for just the SOC, and even slower charging.

    • +1

Ram/ssd prices have skyrocketed from record AI demand. No need to offer amazing deal to us plebs when big business is throwing money at them.

    • @Wizard the price is 25% off to start with.

Anyway the s25u is still going strong and not interested in these very mild updates this time. I wanted to get rid of the square corners of the S24u though.

The JB deal [hack] is only good when you cancel the plan.

    • how do you know there won't be jota form and does it used to have a cap/limit in past or anyone who pre-ordered was able to use it?

  • +29

Members app. Under benefits. Pre order s26. Click shop now and you can download a $200 off voucher 26S-XXXX-XXXX-XXXX
Bring the 256gb ultra down to $1,349.25

    • Edit. Its a device voucher not accessories voucher my bad.

    • Thanks

    • Legend! Tried and code works. Will assume that this code is accessible via Samsung website chat agent too. Post updated

    • 26s doesnt work for me on education store, u have it working in education?

      • working on my epp

    • Is it through Edu or Gov portal?

    • +2

Is this the samsung shop app? I am not an existing samsung user.

edit: I remember now. You need to have samsung member app, which can only be installed on samsung devices.

    • +1

      Legend, not only in name

    • Just tried using 26S and 26C codes together. Only one will apply and for the S26+ at least, it is only $100, not $200

      • it is $200 for ultra only

  • Trade in bonus would have come in handy. Doesn't look like that's on offer this time.

Currently can apply the following codes that were emailed.
    Loyalty Voucher $200
    Thanks voucher $100

GALAXYAI $200 but must add $200 worth ecosystem for it to apply.

    • You can probably get a better trade in price elsewhere anyway. I find CEX to have the better prices normally.

      • +1

Really can get $200-$400 for an old Galaxy S3 watch at CEX?
I think you missed the "bonus" word in OPs sentence.

      • +12

the benefit of the trade in was getting the $400-$500 bonus on top of the value of the item. no one was trading anything in for the trade-in value itself.

  • Hopefully main portal will have better deals with the 256gb priced like the 512gb?

  • -4

        • +11

  • S26 Ultra 1tb = $1816.16 at GOV store

    • Can you please share a link to access Gov store?

    • -1

Could you please check price for s26+. Ta

    • I selected the 512GB variant with Buds4 Pro with the 3 codes and got the total down to $1570.87 in the Gov store.

I was thinking of getting the 1TB but the ~$337 price difference feels quite high. Although more storage feels like a good investment these days :D

      • +2

        More ram as well

        • Yay, that's correct, thanks for letting me know! Might have to get the 1TB model instead :P

        • Exactly that I pay extra for RAM upgrade end up $1825 with Buds 4

    • I assume this is with the $100 thank you code as well? I can only get it down to $1,911.16 (without the $100 thank you code).

    • Its showing as $2,211.75 for me. How do you get it down to $1,816.16?

      • If you have access to CommBank Yello offer, I am able get the price down to $1777 including Galaxy Buds 4. That's with 26C-, THY-, GALAXYAI, YELLOS26 voucher and 5% off first order on the Samsung CommBank Yello store.

    • Just ordered mine for $1,626.18 for the S26U 1TB from the Gov store

Stacked with $200 off Loyalty eVoucher
      26C-XXXX-XXXX-XXXX

      $100 off thanks eVoucher
      THY-XXXX-XXXX-XXXX

      $200 off Eco-Voucher (Ordered with Galaxy Buds4Pro)
      GALAXYAI

$300 Bonus Storage Upgrade - no code required

25% off Gov store discount + additional 5% first time buyer discount through Gov store.

      • How did you get $300 bonus storage upgrade?

      • I don’t think $300 storage upgrade applies to Gov store. How did you manage it that too without code? Good deal.

  • This is what chat reckons regarding trade in

No but it is replaced by a flat discount on the price as a voucher code.

  • +5

JB Hifi Telstra deal may also come close to this price with free storage upgrade:

    S26U $2,199
    Less: GC $1,800
    Plus ETC $958.33
Plus 1st month plan cost $99
    Less: $100 pre-order voucher
    Total Cost for S26U 512GB: $1,356.33

They also have a trade-in bonus offer of $300 for any $1 device trade-in value, but usually trade-in deals are a hit and miss to stack with Telstra deals. Some stores allow some don’t.

    https://www.jbhifi.com.au/pages/samsung-galaxy-unpacked

    • Whats ETC?

      • +1

        Early Termination Cost

    • Can You Stack Galaxy S26 Pre-Order Offers At JB?
You bet. JB’s letting you double up on value, so if you’re grabbing the new Galaxy S26 Series, you can stack the BYO promo and the trade-in offer to lock in even more savings. Bring in an eligible phone and switch to a JB Mobile plan? That’s the move.

What doesn’t stack? The $100 EOI coupon. That one doesn’t apply if you’re using trade-in

      • Based on last year’s experience, trade in deal and telstra voucher deal wasn’t stackable. However, pre-order $100 voucher does stack with either of the deals.

    • +1

Where did you get the ETC amount of $958.33 from?

Because according to https://www.telstra.com.au/help/critical-information-summaries/personal/mobile/mobile-plans/jb-hi-fi-mobile-upfront-plans the base voucher amount is $800, with a possible $300 bonus voucher amount added. I'm not sure if this deal will trigger the $300 bonus voucher amount - in any case, it seems your ETC calculation is based of a total $1,000 voucher amount and I don't know where you got that from?

      • Its been $1,000 since last year. It used to be $800 before. So $1,000/24*23=$958.33 would be the ETC.

        • I understand the mathematics; just wary of it being $1,000 this year, if what you are saying is you are assuming it's the same as last year?
That doesn't seem to match the details in the CIS

          • @segap21: The CIS won’t change because there’s an upsize offer. It’ll remain as max $1000(pro rata)

            • @BargainsGrabber: My point is that the CIS states the Maximum Voucher Repayment Fee to be "up to $1,100". Why is it "max $1,000"? The only explanation offered thus far is from OZBsince2018 saying:

Its been $1,000 since last year

so I'm guessing you're assuming it's the same this year despite the CIS suggesting otherwise?

I'm really hoping it is only $1000 and not $1100 because I'm wanting to buy this from JB Hi-Fi, but not going to take the plunge until I get concrete information to confirm this either way.

              • @segap21: You can go to JB and ask them for "concrete" info

              • @segap21: Ask them to print out the CIS for you before signing anything

      • Yep definitely changed to $1100 in the past month

    • If you trade in $100 voucher won't stack.

    • I have a JB Telstra plan currently, the offer looks to be for new customers only. Could i just cancel my current plan and port my number to another carrier for a few days, then buy the new JB plan with s26?

      • Get a $2 SIM and get a new number and go in and sign up for the deal. It is a deal only if you cancel, so you can cancel the plan and throw away the new number after using it for 1 month.

        • I'm trying to keep the plan so unfortunately it won't work.

excluding any service that has been active on a Telstra, JB Hi-Fi, The Good Guys, or Boost plan at any time in the 30 days before the transfer)

          Does anyone know another solution?

    • Does anyone know which stores are willing to stack tradein? I would do this deal

      • All stores as its how they are marketing both the deals.

  • +12

WTF man… I signed up to all the galaxy pre order forms like x5 and I got 0 emails with codes…. :(

Edit: I just realised its irrelevant, spent ages going through chat troubleshooting on samsung site and the code they gave me for galaxy pre launch sign up anyhow through chat is the GALAXYAI code which is freely accessible to anybody
