    OzBargain's favourite natural drink.

    I prefer Crab Juice.

      Khlav Kalash?

  • This or Cocobella?

    • Half a chance its just repackaged Cocobella

      • Is there a way to confirm ?

        • Checking both products' labels is a good starting point.

        • +5

They do not taste the same and have different nutritional values. I don't believe they are the same.

            • @maxwin: Damn, good to know going forward. Shame I like the lychee flavoured coconut water.

            • @maxwin: Interesting, I did a test over a few days where I got my hands on every Coconut water I could find and found the Aldi Cocolicious to taste close to, but somewhat different to the H2Coco (better overall). They do have slightly different nutritional information with Aldi showing 0.6g/100ml higher sugars, about half the potassium and 60% of the magnesium that the H2Coco has. Wonder if there is some selection going on in terms of bottling the two if they are actually from the same place.

      • +1

Aldi’s coconut water is made by H2coco

        • Any verification of this? The nutritional values are mostly different on all aspects between the Aldi one and the H2coco one.

          • @smifter: Yes: exactly as per @maxwin said, Kyle Sandilands who is a part owner of H2 coco said that they supply Aldi’s Coconut water.

            • @stuarty9: Interesting. It appears to be a different recipe then even if they are the manufacturers. Can't have the same product with the same recipe and different nutritional values so that doesn't add up. Or maybe they only manufacture the coconut water (I haven't checked those details) and not the chocolote coconut water (which is what I did check).

        Most likely not.

I purchased both and they both taste vastly different.

Aldi: More chocoately, sweeter and no crappy after taste lingering
Cocobella: Watered down, less sweet and gives a weird after taste.

I decided to buy both and see which one is better, Aldi is better

        • +2

Yeah the Aldi one is delicious, as good as if not better than a chocolate Breaka. There was recently a syndicated article about it and now it's being ransacked from every store.

        • +2

I did the same, bought both chocolate ones, ALDI is so much nicer, Cocobella has like a weird vinegar taste

      • Its not the same as cocobella. This one taste better

  • +6

this one tastes better than the cheap coles and woolies ones.

    • +3

Taste is subjective. I lived in a coastal region with coconuts and I prefer the coles/woolies ones to all the rest. They are closest to what I used to drink.

  • I guess the chocolate coconut milk isnt a fad here… yet

    • Nah ALDI are currently selling a chocolate version of this for a limited time

      • +1

I know, but its a cult on a few aldi australia pages.

    • ha ha….I absolutely love it!

  • +1

The price is fine, its the availability which is the challenge

Have been on the /r/aldiaustralia hype train and only once in the last month or so have seen these at my local.

    • They're always available on the Gold Coast!

    • +1

Plain is easy to find at my local, have yet to snag a chocolate one though - theres 5 times as many normal vs choco however

    • +2

I feel like that sub has had a renaissance moment - true before and after coconut water periods. I'm all in on the shitposting to spread the good word of the chocococo

    • +1

The regular coconut water is easy to find. Its the chocolate coconut water which is on the hype train.

  • Tipco is the best tasting coconut water just like the real one

I would also like to mention that Woolies homebrand coconut water comes in the 4packs which retail for 10.90. They used to be $10, but it is what it is.

    • Another example of Aldi not really being much cheaper. People just fall for their marketing.

      • clearly both of you haven't haven't this one and don't know how much better this is.

        • Does that mean it tastes better for everyone though?

        • I beg to differ.

I happily buy either one depending on which store I'm at and what level of stock I have at home. That being said, I fully respect your preference, however which way that goes.

I will mention that I grew up husking 100s of coconuts to drain and consume and I am very cognizant that their flavour can vary widely, even when the coconuts themselves come from the same plantation more so when they're from different ones.

I find your lack of basic chemistry disturbing.

Probably common though throughout the population

Cocolicious standard / Cocobella Straight Up = Thailand (sweet, taste very similar)
Cocolicious chocolate (limited time) = Vietnam coconuts
    Raw C = Vietnam coconuts
    Woolworths = Philippine coconuts
    Coles = Thailand
    Cocobella chocolate = Thailand coconuts

  • Did the price drop? I thought it was $2.99
