My Microsoft virus tech insists Apple gift cards are still the most secure form of currency.

    • +5

Wink if you're still on the phone with them now

    • My contact at the ATO also told me this.

    • also can avoid tax too because ATO doesn't see gift cards are real money lol.

    • FAQ above = no I cannot

Hope they can sell these gift cards in the rewards store like the Google ones, so there will be no more problems with credits being stolen with these cards.

  • Will these work with AOC?

  • +1

    Yes

  • Do cashback usually work with these giftcards?

Can I use those everday rewards points to buy a giftcard again?

  • -3

Great timing!……I have to pay the ATO some back tax which the person on the phone advised could now be done using Apple Gift cards…🤔

  • If only QF had a deal on at the same time… Dropbox and m365 subscriptions make for decent extra points. Oh well, have to make do with the WWRewards and then QF transfer.

I first got this deal on the iPhone 13 Pro Max. It was 30x (15%). Good times. I think what stings more than the 10% it is today, is how much of a rip woollies is now. It’s less of a cheap supermarket and more of an expensive convenience.

  • You can go to Apple store and buy their stuff with this right?

Also if physical cards are so easy to tamper can you just buy digital ones?

    • 1: I think so if you add it to you apple wallet it should work.
2: This discount doesn't apply to digital ones.

      • cheers wanted to use the chance to buy from the apple store since the new stuff arent discounted yet

    • If you want to pay in person using the cards you can't add them to your account, have to leave them as unclaimed gift cards

But you can add them to your account and order online for pickup in store

      • nah you can, I noticed later in wallet app you can app "Apple Account" now which allows you to use apple credit in store as well.

But yes your method is what I was gonna do anyway, I think due to the scam thing i'll just add it on the spot instore.

  • Can we use these Apple GCs to pay for purchases made on the Education Union Store?:

      Yeah they can

  • I purchased some gift cards from Amazon and I’m adding them to my wallet the ultimate gift card for everyone from one for all I have added one to my Apple wallet now I need to know as i have two cards one low and one higher amount how to I know how much that card has as it gives no info when in wallet.
Sometimes when I’m buying from say jb hifi I will mix up payments like various gift cards or mix of cash as well etc. just incase I need to how to I know what each card has in it.
And how does this card work in say jb. Do I just swipe the card in my store and whatever is in it is taken? Or have you to enter a pin but are these not in your wallet to make it easy just swipe it and done? I’m not familiar and to be honest not used gift cards much through wallet

  • The redeem card function using your iPhone camera doesn’t seem to work on the new style cards which sux.

Also just picked up a couple of g’s worth 45mins ago and still saying code not valid…

    • Phone camera redeem just worked on the two I picked up. Was valid immediately.

    • Were you able to eventually add these or still no luck?

      • Yup worked shortly afterwards all good.

    • worked for me a month ago

    • The redeem didn’t work for me yesterday either, as a workaround I use the autofill>scan text and that worked

  • Bought $2500 of gift cards, they all failed to activate. They refunded them but now have to wait for the money to go back onto the account

    • I'm about to buy them. What did not work? Did woolies refund you on the spot?

      • They failed to activate- the slips that come out say they were all declined.
Might have been a server issue. They refunded immediately but it was a bit of a mess around as they had to do individual transactions as it exceeded their refund limit
        Money came into account today

  • Is it still ongoing? I couldn’t see it at Woolworths yesterday.

    • Yes, it’s the catalogue special for the week per the link. Why wouldn’t it be ongoing?

  • i bought $1650 of gift cards from WW last year on a similar offer. can confirm they all worked, but I purchased in 4 transactions ($500, $500, $500, $100 + $50) at the checkout and verified the codes as I went. it wasn't busy so was able to do so at the service desk.

  • I just called Woolworths Everyday and they said at the moment you cannot use the Everyday Rewards Dollars to pay for gift cards on the Everyday Gifting website. The person advised me not to proceed with this offer as he does not know when it will be avaliable again. Not sure what to do as I wanted to exchange my Everydays dollars for gift cards at shops I'd actually use… :(

You’ve never been able to use rewards points to buy gift vouchers as far as I am aware.

      • Hey, yes I believe you could, at least in the past. I'm not sure why it does no longer work. This is from their website:

        1. Where can I enjoy money off my shopping?

You can enjoy money off your shopping at any of the following:

Woolworths Supermarkets and Woolworths Metro (both in store and online at woolworths.com.au, including Everyday Market from Woolworths, but excluding any products supplied by Healthylife Pharmacy to Everyday Market from Woolworths and MILKRUN)
BWS (both in store and online at bws.com.au)
BIG W (both in-store and online at bigw.com.au, and BIG W purchases on Everyday Market from Woolworths)
        MILKRUN (via the MILKRUN app)
        Participating EG Ampol*
Petstock (in-store and online at petstock.com.au)
        Everyday Rewards Shop
Everyday Gifting (These are the gift cards )

      • When Everyday Rewards launched their online gift card portal late last year, they allowed cardholders to pay for gift cards using Everyday Rewards Dollars. However, this stopped working a couple of weeks ago, due to "technical issues".

It is against the terms and conditions to use Everyday Rewards Dollars as a payment method when purchasing gift cards through other Everyday Rewards partners (e.g. Woolworths, BIG W, BWS).

        • Not sure why stopped a couple of weeks ago, surely it’s not a technical issue

    • Haven't done something like this in a while, how about buying Apple gift cards with Woolworths gift cards?

      • That probably will not work.

        • The terms and conditions for gift cards issued by Woolworths Group (including Woolworths Supermarket gift cards) mention that you cannot use those gift cards to purchase any gift cards.

        • If you attempt this at a Woolworths checkout anyway, as soon as you enter the gift card number (or scan the gift card barcode or swipe the physical gift card on the EFTPOS terminal), the checkout should return an Items Not Allowed error.

I bought $1000 in one transaction and $800 in another at my local woolies yesterday. I got the bonus points for the 1k transaction but not for the other. Both show on my everyday rewards account so we can be sure the everyday card was scanned in both transactions.

Anyone received their points later? How would I escalate this?

    • +3

Limit 10x cards per day per account, no?

      • Lol rip, OP didn't read.

  • Easy purchase of $700. Redeemed instantly, and points in my account instantly.

  • I have Woolworths 10% off monthly rewards discount, can I apply the 10 percent off for these apple gift cards? Will this 10 percent off will also give me 20x points?

Basically can I buy 500 dollar gift card and apply 10% off monthly and also get 20x EDR points ?

    • +1

no you cannot use the 10% off

  • Is this deal still live - I can't find any mention of it at Woolworths, in catalogue etc…
Want to buy Apple Gift cards to buy new laptop. Sure I'm not the only one…

  • Now the last question I'm sure card/points chasers will know.

Do I buy gift cards to cover the full cost of Apple Laptop if doing trade-in, or do I buy enough to cover the reduced price after trade-in?

  • +1

It doesn't really matter too much - if you have a bit over you can put it into your apple account and use it to pay for services.

For example icloud or apple TV and so on.

    • For example iCloud …

I was never able to do that. Even if I have some balance in my account it doesn't give me the option to use balance on subscribe and charges my credit card.

      • We literally just use it for this and only this. We run a number of subscriptions through the Apple ecosystem because we can buy the cards for (effectively) 10% off, load them into an apple account and use that to pay for things. We generally buy $200-$300 worth of Apple credit every 6-8 months for subscriptions..

We still have Netflix running through Apple for this reason.

        • Thanks. Will look into this.

Do you know if it is possible to pay monthly Apple Care+ with this too?

  • I accidentally scanned the wrong wollies reward card, does anyone know if wollies would change the reward card for the transactions?

    • Contact customer support, they’re normally pretty helpful

  • Thanks OP. Got $1500 worth of cards to buy a MacBook Air
