  • Great find! I am not going to buy even though I am tempted to buy and re-sell later, just so those who need it can get it.

Crazy that this is a deal now though compared to a few months back lol

    • Since i'm one of those nerds with more compute than sense, I'm really tempted just to be able to build project PC's, but I have a feeling used 4800mhz from china will 'always' be available as the big players demand the performance chips…. I'm sure I'll choke on those words, but I'm gonna live in hope.

      • At some point the data centres should start depreciating their ram down and then reselling it and second hand heavily used ram will flood the market. Maybe? If they replace it after the on-book lifespan rather than waiting for failure, it could still be plenty good. However if they have somethign like a ram-health-test and replace it when it sinks to some limit, it could be crap.

        • is AI datacenter ram compatible with desktop system?

          • @wassabi: Ah good question. I'm just speculating and not at all an expert. Assumed same sticks but that's probably not true hey

        • The AI centre are using the HBM, which is not compatible with the PC. The problem right now is the HBM is taking over the production because Data Centre are paying large amount for it.

  • Looks like they've removed it already.

  • Looks like its sold out already

  • Order one and status page shows decline

    • I was able to order and got confirmation email too, ordered on mac via chrome

      • I got the order confirmation too but on their website, status went from pending to decline. Not sure what that means. Cancellation email coming through.

        • Ohh no

Mine changed from Pending to, "Your order status is currently ‘Processing’"

          • @TaurusHead: Mine is still Processing and cancellation option grey out.

  • Black was $699 so maybe it was an accident, the description did say “weekend special” and it was 2 per customer, hard to Broden it that quick?!

    • have the black kits it was $10 cheaper. white ones look better but as ozB…
quite good no issue at all, but be careful there are different voltage versions.

  • Thanks OP, ordered 1. Fingers crossed

  • Ordered, thanks.

Got confirmed shipping notification within 15 min of ordering

  • Thanks, now that puts me out of my misery

    Now hoping it comes through

  • I'm going to say pricing error.

    Prices are going up fast.

    • Order now and worry later

  • still available.

  • Still more than double what it was a few months ago. hopefully we'll be seeing further discounts

    • better double than triple right?

      • To be honest every RAM or SSD deal on OzB should state the pre-AI boom price, just to give a reality check for people who think the deal is actually 'fair and reasonable'.

        Just because it's cheaper doesn't mean it isn't a rip-off.

        • but your talking about the market price right now. Which is different. Like house price today, you could brought the same house 20yr ago for like 50% of today price. but this discount is reasonable by today market price.

  • annnnnnd it's gone

    • 7min ago i just ordered now gone hahah

  • Free delivery as well.

  • Confirmed the pricing is correct, just gave them a call. Not to be that "someone" but to be sure while I can still cancel the order instead of waiting several business days.

  • Ordered. Great find!

  • Looks like that product doesn't exist, has been moved, replaced, or is no longer available.

    edit: now says sold out

  • Get ready for the great order cancellations to begin

  • manage to place an order. is processing mean it might still be rejected? Haven't ordered from PCCG before.

  • Wow! It showed as 57 sold today…
I doubt they would honor the price. Too cheap, if they make a loss of $100 per order (assuming each order is only 1), they would lose $5,700…
Worse, if people are buying 2 per order…
They would be the next Techfast real soon.

    • i dont think they losing anything. the stock they have right now probably still on old cost price. until next batch come in. they only put up the price to stop people flipping it.

      • Well they shipped out for some, so I stand corrected :)
Good to see some prices coming down.

  • I am kinda torn whether I should upgrade to AM5 now with RAM prices as they are. The RAM price are pushing other AM5 components like mobos and CPU down significantly.
    I have 2 options:
    A) Stay with AM4. Buy a 5700x3d from Ali Express for ~$500 AUD.
    B) Upgrade to AM5 for ~$7-800 AUD = new CPU, mobo and these kind of RAM in this post. (From Ali Express as well of course).

I am kinda leaning toward option 1, be cause crypto is kinda crashing and DDR6 should be coming out soon.
I have an ASUS TUF 3080 GPU and 850w Gold PSU. So those are not going anywhere soon.

Which one is the better economical option for the next 5 years?

    • Im sure your PC still handles everything you throw at it. Ignore the fomo (but i did upgrade from a 3600 to 5700x3d a year ago and no complaints).

And edit: unless cpu prices have been jacked, they were 2-300ish on Ali not 500.

      • 5700X3D have long been out of production.

Current pricing on there really is $500 now.

    • What is your current PC?

      • Curent setup in an ITX case = B450 Tomahawk board, RTX3080 gpu Asus TUF and 3600xt AMD cpu. 850W gold PSU. 16gb ddr4 RAM.
The cpu and gpu are really punching above its weight for me since I am gaming at 1440p-100 fps-capped,with a 34 inch ultrawide screen.

        • If you're already getting 100fps I don't see a point, at most maybe a 5600 to make it last a little bit longer.

    • Yup, mine too!

      • Nice, seems like i am the only one whose order was declined. No email yet and was charged too.

      • Nice, you can now finish your PC :)
I had to wait a long time from Amazon but it is worthwhile.
I would have bought this to replace that but alas no luck here LOL

  • Crazy how 96gb of faster ddr5 was cheaper 6 months ago…

  • Ripoff

  • Ram prices will start coming down, 32GB kits are readily available everywhere. It's greed, pure and simple.

In the US you can get yourself a cpu, motherboard and RAM for a little more than a 32gb kit here.

  • In 2022 I purchased this RAM kit for $129

    • how come you didnt buy more to resell today?

    • Thank God, only RAM prices went up since 2022.

    • Really? DDR5 prices weren't THAT low in 2022 were they? Sounds like the price of a DDR4 kit to me. DDR5 was still more expensive in 2022 than DDR4 by a fair bit I'm sure… I vaguely remember making a PC for a friend with DDR5 5200mhz kingston RAM and it was more like ~250 or something for a 32GB kit.

      • Go look at some of the ddr5 deals posted on this website a year ago. There were loads of good prices.

      • hereand herethis pagemore recent

Even in April 2025 there was RAM that was SUPER cheap compared to now.

        • Mate. You're looking at 2025.

Guy I replied to said 2022. 2022 was when AM5 released. Up til that point Intel was still offering differing platforms one with Ddr5 one with ddr4. I'm not talking about a year ago. I'm talking about 2022. 4 years ago lol

  • Damn I wanted some white sticks for my white build

  • Going to be a while before prices come down with all this panic buying going on

Now what was I saying? If only I had more memory to remember

  • damn missed it!

  • Shipping Confirmation here, happy days.

  • I don't know why i purchased considering i just finished my build, guess i'll mix and match ram and have 64gb system.

    • XMP/expo probably won’t work if you mix and match

  • 2oz silver or this for investment 😂

  • I think that prices for DDR5 RAM will eventually settle at a lower price. God knows when though.
Yes, Cloud providers are gobbling up as much HBM RAM as is available, with Micron, Samsung and Hyundai pivoting their manufacuring process to this more profitible type of RAM, and big OEM's such as Lenovo, Asus and HP are buying up as much DDR5 DIMM and mostly SODIMM (notebook memory) capacity as available out of fear.
Hopefully the average consumer will not pay extra for their new shiny notebooks (likely), and hardware geeks will stop panicking and refuse to buy RAM at stupid prices (less likely)

    • Won’t go as low as it was last year since micron/hynix/samsung were all losing money at quite a big margin at those sub $150 prices

      • Management are wearing Rolex watches now.

  • I hope AI hype falls and stop ram prices going up and up

  • I grabbed the Black version of this (for $100 more :c ) last week - does anybody want to swap their White kit from this deal with my Black kit? I'm doing an all-white build. Please DM me <3

P.S. all stats (timings, frequency, size etc.) are exactly the same, only the colour is different.
