  • Thanks I was just hunting for a laptop. Nice spec.

I'm assuming soldered ram in this?

      • +1

Not just soldered, it's on-package. The only feasible way to upgrade RAM would be desolder and resolder the entire System on Package.

It's like Apple Silicon Macs. Though such design finally gives amazing battery like to Intel systems back in 2024.

        • +1

Tbh panther lake has shown it’s not longer necessary to have on package ram to have amazing efficiency, it has better battery life than lunar lake at everyday tasks despite ram not being on package

          • +1

@Kazusa: Incorrect. Lunar lake has better battery life than Panther Lake at everyday tasks. Panther Lake just has more performance per watt. Lunar Lake can’t be beat in terms of sheer low power usage

            • +1

@antik: Go look at reviews, panther lake beats lunar lake at battery life at low power usage due to the better lpe cores and intel 18a

              https://www.notebookcheck.net/Asus-ExpertBook-Ultra-review-O…

              • +1

@Kazusa: Where exactly are you seeing that? Panther Lake draws significantly more power than Lunar Lake with any load greater than idle.

If you’re looking at their WiFi Battery Runtime benchmark, add a fairly optimised Lunar Lake laptop into the equation and you’ll see Lunar Lake can achieve 20% greater runtime with a 20% smaller battery: https://imgur.com/a/t7mUeY3

16GB is completely fine unless you know you need more

      • or you use chrome 🙄

        • +1

The TooManyTabs extension helps with memory.

    • +1

I don't think you have any idea what you're talking about. Even with the 8gb on my current machine i don't have any issues, and that's typically switching between Photoshop, visual studio, edge, and anything that distracts me.

      Your million tabs aren't loaded

    • +2

Using i5-1235u (4-year old cpu) here with 8GB ram, 256SSD, Windows 11. Usually 5-10 apps open at once, including 50-200 page documents and multiple internet tabs (both MS edge and Chrome open at the same time). No problems.

  • this or Samsung s11 ultra

    • I'd probably say this, I tried using the S8 Ultra as a laptop with a kb and case cover. While DEX is good, it was just too finnicky. Didn't work properly to an extent I'd like and too "workaround" ish.

      IMO. Grain of salt.

    • Just get a Note 8 at that point

This can run Linux. Laptop any day. Android just isn't ready for desktop replacement.

  • and TRS from $1499.. nett $1065… this is yummy

    • How do you get TRS for ebay purchase. No tax invoice showing GST included right?

      • +1

Invoice is by HP with ABN so you can get GST back . Download the invoice from eBay.

Picked a zenbook s14 ux5406 on display for $1495 with 5 year warranty at JB hifi
The new laptops are all coming with 16gb. You will have to get an older model or spend a fortune for 32gb spec

Seems like a good price for 14" 3K Touch OLED Intel Ultra 7 Gen 2

  • Can you add more storage?

  • +1

$900 for the 16" version last year was a great deal!

    • But this is a light weight 14" plus Gen 2 Intel Ultra 7 and the $900 deal was the 16" Gen 1 Ultra 5

      • No the 16" was a Gen 2 as well

  • I have a MacBook Pro m1
But I miss windows for windows things that I’m used to. Is this a good switch?

    • Yeah, the new Intel V chips have a great battery life too. The Lenovo deal is also good. This for a better display, the Lenovo if you really want 32GB RAM.
Hit me up if you want to sell that MacBook.

  • Why do everyday average users think they need more than 16gb ram?

  • 3% off $1000 ebay GC for another $30 off

  • So is this alright for office tasks, watching some hidef video, light gaming and other light duties i cant think of at the moment? And how long will something like this last me for that kind of use?

I can probably also get some money back on top from a work program so, if I buy it, it will actually be a little cheaper for me personally. Is it a good price under those circumstances?

  • +1

I can’t believe I missed another good laptop deal. I would love a heads up for any future laptop deals!

    • +1

You can subscribe to the laptop page to get an email when a laptop deal is posted. i bought this 1 min after it was posted.
i get about 5 emails a week, onmce you get the laptop you disconnect the sunscription

      • +1

Isn't it $50 refund as goodwill, and you still get the laptop but have you wait an extra week?

        • +1

          Dear

Thank you for your recent order with the HP eBay Store.
We sincerely apologise for the inconvenience caused. Due to an unexpected system issue that impacted inventory availability, the HP Omnibook laptop you ordered was oversold. We have since secured additional stock to fulfil your order, and the current estimated delivery timeframe is by the end of next week.
We completely understand that this delay may be inconvenient. As a gesture of goodwill, we would like to offer you a one time partial refund of $50 should you be happy to proceed with the order and wait for delivery.
Alternatively, if this timing does not work for you and you would prefer to cancel your order, please let us know and we will arrange an immediate full refund.
Please let us know how you would like to proceed at your earliest convenience. Once again, we apologise for the inconvenience and truly appreciate your patience and understanding.

          Kind regards,
          HP eBay Store
