Good price. Got this for $331 from Amazon in the last black friday sale. I highly recommend this for a fun and easy way to make all kinds of ice cream.

      As good as Haagen Daz?

      • +5

No, a $330 machine won't make better icecream than the tens or hundreds of thousands of dollars Haagen Dazs spend on their manufacturing equipment.

It will however allow you complete control over the ingredients in the ice cream that you choose to make. That's why these machines have such a high appeal to those who track their diets, you can make low calorie ice creams with awesome macros and eat it every day without consuming and excess of energy and putting on weight.

It also lets you make your own flavours but expectations need to be managed, you're not going to outdo the more expensive stuff.

        • Hard to say..

With this, you are making the ice cream with pure milk, cream and flavoring whereas Haagen isn't pure 100% milk and cream..

I also adjust the sugar so it's not that sweet.

I actually prefer what I make to a store bought but it's really down to personal preference.

          I disagree.

You can easily make much better ice cream with this for the simple reason that they cheap out on supermarket ice cream.

The only thing you'll struggle to beat with a machine like this is a proper ice cream/gelato shop.

  • Does it freeze stuff or requires another device for that?

    • This is a domestic version of a pacojet. It works by shaving frozen stuff and blending it up so that it has a creamy consistency.
You freeze the pints in your normal freezer overnight before processing.

      • Thank u

it’s very noisy, which isn’t ideal for late night snack when everyone is asleep

Oh (profanity), this thing was in the warehouse for $379 I think, which I just bought yesterday, wtf.

I'll go reach out to their support for a refund

EDIT: I checked my receipt, allgood, it's the same price in the warehouse

    • I just bought one last weekend for $380 😥

      • Same here

has anyone ever got a refund on the price difference

        • +1

30 days price adjustment or buy and return with old receipt if between 30-90 days.

Was very tempted by these before seeing a video about how it can chop into the plastic container in certain circumstances (and i get enough micro plastics as is). not sure how much of a problem it actually is.

I was worried about this too.

After reading online and now owning the machine I believe it can't happen to me

      1. I always flatten the ice cream after its frozen so there is no bump on top (Instructions mention this)

      2. I leave it out of the freezer for 15 minutes if its a low sugar/protein mix.

      3. The Swirl has a much more powerful motor, the creamifit option is designed to handle low sugar/protein mixes (it moves slower and at a faster speed)

      4. The Swirl has a bigger blade which I presume is stronger.

I presume everyone that has had an issue has had a combination of a bump on the ice cream, it wasn't the Swirl model or they had a low fat/sugar mix which makes the ice cream as hard as a rock and they didn't use the creamifit option.

      • Thanks for the thorough reply! Having another look now..

Do you blend everything before freezing (eg if you're using fruit etc)?

        • Generally I blend it if its doesn't mix very well or can have a lot of water content, for example fruit.

  • This or the deluxe (and wait for a sale on that)? Wondering if I can justify the extra bench space for the swirl

    • Same here - I've been fence sitting between this and the deluxe…..

      • Deluxe if you want less moving parts and easier to clean…
I'm also waiting and regret not buying during prime sales

        • But isn't the other main difference being that:
          - Swirl allows you to do soft serves
          - Deluxe allows you to do frozen drinks and frappes?

      • +4

I own the Swirl. Thought I would use the soft serve dispensing function more, but the issues with cleaning is so bad, you will never want to do it again.

We made dozens of soft serve batches (vanilla and chocolate mostly, for the kids) and the chocolate batches was the most telling and obvious how poorly designed the soft serve dispensing function is. Quite a lot ends up within the removable dispenser lid/puck. And no matter how much we rinsed, soaked and tried to flick out the chocolate from the dispenser, it just kept oozing out. I cannot imagine how much mold is festering behind that thing now. I cannot believe how badly designed the thing is considering how it a) cannot be dismantled and b) how badly the dispenser works (the seal is not great so the ice cream goes absolutely everywhere)!

Then there is cleaning of the Swirl specific tubs. Again, there is an entire bottom section that can rotate but cannot be removed/dismantled. Cleaning this part is definitely a bit easier (it helps that the clear plastic allows a window to see how much is still there to clean).

        • Thank you for this review that I've been particularly wanted to know about the cleaning issue.

Get the Gourmia from costco instead. Far better machine for only $250 - makes soft serve, slushies etc with an in built feeezer in like 20 minutes a pop. Easy to clean and take apart, too.

I looked at the pic without reading the text and thought this was a drip coffee maker with a built in grinder. I felt a tad dissapointed when I realised it wasn't.

Anyone managed to price match this anywhere? I haven't had any luck.

  • Where are the Ninja Creami Deluxe deals ffs
