  • I gave this a go, it would not process the payment using my paypal but credit card (with no currency conversion fees) seemed to work ok.
~$81 AUD without the xp club thing.

    • +1

Oh no mine didn't work either :(

  • Did not work for me, I got given a code that does not activate in Australia.

    • :'( same, wont activate for me too

      • haven't tried for a refund yet because gmg doesn't like VPNs according to terms/conditions, and I can't see a way to activiate the code with shenanigans on steams end.
very annoying, because it did say it would activate in Australia the other day.

        • Yea we are in a bind, I dont want to use VPN to activate on steam as that risks a ban of the account

          Dam under GMG refund policy:
"Purchases made with the use of a proxy server, VPN or similar technology may not work at all and will not be eligible for a refund."

I lodged a refund request anyway, hope it goes through

Update: Got a response from GMG, they are unable to offer a refund as "the activation key has been disclosed by email"

    • Try contacting their support or a chargeback, when I posted the deal it said no regional restrictions :(

      • were u able to add to your steam account?

      • I'm trying a 2nd refund request, specifically citing that I purchased due to the incorrect activation information they said, but of course they could just tell me to (profanity) off because I used a VPN. If that doesn't work then it's either temporarily changing my steam region for 3 months, or chargeback.

        • Were you successful in getting a refund or new key?

          • @grubgrub: They just replied to me now telling me I will be getting a refund, I'll edit the comment in a few days if/when I get the money back. I'm genuinely surprised I seemingly have gotten the refund, and I still have the redemption key?

            • @baba9: wow nice ill message them again, they didnt give me a refund earlier, what did u tell them in the email?

              • @grubgrub: I wrote "I purchased this on March 15, and the time it was listed on your site as able to be activated in Australia, and now after you have already sent out the keys it is no longer able to be activated and the site has been changed. I purchased under incorrect information and want a refund."
I didn't give the order number, genuinely forgot it which I'm unsure if that helped me or not, when they replied they asked for just a screenshot of what my steam region was set as and that was it.

                • @baba9: Thanks I shot them a similar message asking for a refund/replacement key.

What screenshot did u send them?
A screenshot of your steam account?

                  • @grubgrub: Thanks Baba, they said they will give me a refund as well

  • Looks like they updated the regions, It no longer lists australia if you vpn.

    • Thats good, will stop other people from buying keys that cant activate in Australia

  • Game won’t activate for me either for Australia. Not confident in GMG refunding anything after reading prior comment on their policy against VPNs.

  • When I use a Japan VPN to check the site, the game says the following:

This product can only be activated in or gifted to the following regions

    Brunei
    Cambodia
    Hong Kong
    India
    Indonesia
    Japan
    Laos
    Macao
    Malaysia
    Philippines
    Singapore
    South Africa
    South Korea
    Sri Lanka
    Taiwan
    Thailand
    Viet Nam

    • Maybe you could create a second steam account in one of those countries with a VPN and some 'local' billing information and activate it.

      • hmm that could work

Anyone successful in getting a refund?

Or another method in activating the game?

        • I gave up on getting a refund.
I decided that a new member of my family was going to live in Japan for a few months.
I created a new steam account in JPN using a VPN.
I cleaned out steam on Windows, installed it fresh and took care to log into steam via the VPN. Be sure to disable auto start of steam!
I was able to activate the game and preload the game.
I'll have to run the VPN for the next few months whenever I load up this specific fresh install of steam.
In a few months time this person will move back to Australia, change their store region to Australia, and then hopefully join my family group.

Oh and for reasons I have two installs of Windows on my machine so I used the one that I do not usually use for Steam games.
