Shipping is $25 so no deal for me.

$12.5 for me in regional vic. Assume you're paying for multiple cases?

      • +2

$25 for 1 case to me in NSW.

      • +1

        $25 to metro Melbourne

      • $12.05 for me in Melb metro. very specific. $12.05

      • $25 for me too. Melbourne metro.

If they can do $12 for regional vic and some Melbourne metro, I’ll steer clear until this changes.

      • Yeah, it goes up for multiple cases which is very sly , shame great beer

        • +3

1 case is around 10-11kgs, not sure why most people expect it to cost the same to ship +20kgs.

          • @gcar304: They have trolleys and ussually the shipping is the transport and if they are already going there…

          • @gcar304: Economies of scale.

          • @gcar304: Not an issue with other brewers bought from before.

Shipping is $25 so no deal Hope for me.

Anyone tried it? By all online reviews it seems really average

    • HOPE beers are fine. They definitely aren't special or amazing. But at some of the prices being offered here, even with the $25 postage, I bought several cases.

    • +1

Some are good, some werent great. Way too big of a range

    • Tried a bunch. Their strong ones are very bitter, and sour ones very sour. Maybe lagers are ok

      • +4

Their strong ones are very bitter, and sour ones very sour.

        They sound perfect

  • How much shelf life remaining OP?

    Seems ominous…

DOUBLE DOWN IPA CASE 24 X 375mL CAN
    RRP $261

Wtf are those prices?!! Is this the new norm now? Surely people aren't paying that much for a slab of beer? Or am I delusional?
    ~$11 a can! That's insane

    • +3

They're all 9-11% ABV, which explains the price (although I'd never buy this case at RRP…discounted it's reasonable value if you're into that style/strength of beer :))

    • +2

They're double and triple IPAs (so lots of hops, and hops are expensive) and they range in strength from 9-11% ABV (twice as strong basically means twice the ingredients).

Although even if you halve the price it would be pretty pricey for normal strength beers. The extra cost is probably at least partly because it's a mixed case. You are not delusional!

      • It's because excise is higher per ABV on beer.

From AI: Independent legal commentary summarises that beer excise rates span roughly from just over $2 per litre of alcohol for low‑strength draught up to around the mid‑$30s per litre for stronger packaged beers, with other excisable beverages (RTDs, spirits) taxed much higher, in the high‑$50s to mid‑$60s per litre of alcohol.

Definitely no way to ask for shipping to Adelaide? I kinda love Hope's beers….

    • Any recommendations? I was looking at either the Neipas or the IPA's

      • +2

Case of of summer IPAs has a good mix Neipas and IPAs.

  • $25 to Sydney inner city

  • $28 to Brisbane.

  • Had 2 tasting paddles of most of their range a couple of years ago at the estate. I like most beers in general, but they had a few that were so unenjoyablthat I didn't want to finish. About half were average, enjoyed a few of them a fair bit. Wish I took notes now. I think the fruity ones were the baddies.

  • I want to order is the Neipa but I can’t have blood orange or grape fruit for health reasons. Wanna swap the blood orange ones to other neipa ? Can OP help me with this ? Asking coz I want to order 2 cases ?

    • +3

I'm not associated with the brewery. Feel free to reach out to them on (02) 4993 3555. Assuming they're clearing stock, I'd see no reason for them to not accommodate your request.

  • Order a pacific and mexican. I guess 2 cases delivered for $25 is okay

    What ever happened to tallies?

    Awesome deal thanks OP!
Their sours are great, and normally expensive locally..
    Shipping to wollongong only $11.60!

    • Thanks for the flag! Assumed Illawarra delivery would be much higher

  • $11.60 to Central Coast, NSW

  • No shipping to Adelaide, 30 minutes and 100 years behind the Eastern states

  • NEWYEAR code only gave me 9% off?

I bought a few cases from these guys before Christmas(Lager and Pale Ale). The beer was mediocre and the carbonation on the beers was terrible, as in they tasted like they were flat immediately after opening.

  • +1

Used to be a frequent buyer of their beers, but they went downhill years ago. Their pacific ale used to be a great fridge filler but its tasted sour the last few years and is often over carbonated.

    • Carbonisation must be a problem for them as the comment before yours is that they tasted flat on opening.

    • Did you contact hope. |
      Give you replacement

      What happened

  • Today I got the following email from Hope Brewery:

    Hello,
We’re writing about your recent order of Newy Pacific Ale. A bad batch from December has been identified.
    Please note:
You’ve received a store credit based on the cost of the beers and freight for your order quantity.
If your order has not been sent already, you should have been contacted with a replacement.
We don’t need the affected beers returned.
Not everyone received the bad batch, but all orders of Newy Pacific Ale since the batch date have been compensated.
The credit is applied to the email used for your order and will apply automatically at checkout.
We apologise for the inconvenience and thank you for your understanding.
    Hope Brewery

Disappointed by the lack of information about what the issue is with the "bad batch". Is it twice the alcohol content? Is paint thinner? Or is it just not the taste they expect?

When did they identify the bad batch? Have they been selling it at the estate for the last three months? Why did it take until March to identify the "bad batch"?

The work experience kid should not be tasked with such important comms.

  • I received mine. Does anyone know how to find expiry? I can only find pkd date at bottom of can
