  • Better than the 7700? Maybe for some?

    • for lower resolution gaming, probably better 1% lows too

Multi core is similar enough to the 7700 that I’d probably get this for the faster single core

    • Probably 7700 few % faster on multitasks and productivity
9600x few % faster on gaming
I will probably choose 9600x for newer chip, or the lower price one, except it's for multitasking only then 7700.
      Full review here: https://www.techpowerup.com/review/amd-ryzen-5-9600x/

      • The 9600 should be a fair bit better for PS3 / Switch emulation due to better AVX-512 support or whatever.

    • it would be the same for app and games that use no more then 6 cores and slower for games and apps that use 8 or more cores so overall the 8 core CPU is the better option because Zen4 and Zen5 are pretty much the same CPU.. give or take a few % All in all it doesnt really matter because When Zen6 comes out it will be night and day compared to either the 9600X and 7700

  • How does this match with 4GB of RAM?

    • DDR3

      • SDRAM lose in a draw from ARC Computers in Penrith. ( those were the days )

    • beast mode enabled

  • cries in AM4

  • Stellar price.
Seller rating is a bit mixed..
But shipped from AU, so worth the risk, with local stock being at least a $120 more expensive.

  • Does 9600x have integrated GPU? thanks

      • The 9000 series CPUs do in-fact come with an integrated graphics solution. This excludes CPUs with the F designation (9500f for example)

    • Sorry I was mistaken earlier. Yes the 9600X has AMD Radeon Graphics integrated.

      • thanks for telling me. because of I intend to buy 8600G cpu by $244 from AU local reseller before this deal come up. now I can jump to 9600x cpu as same price

I am not gamer or video editor

  • I was almost tempted to upgrade my trusty AM4 32gb system till I checked memory prices! And yes I have been living under a rock at least as far as PC parts goes.

    • Not worth it if your current system does what you want. The days of upgrading for fun are over with SSD, RAM and GPU prices being what they are.

    • Oh yeah don't bother at all, it's way too expensive at the moment. Only thing that's normally priced are AMD GPUs… If you consider spending $1000 on a high end graphics card normal.

  • I would be sooooooo on this one..

shame I don't have a mobo or DDR5 lined up.

  • Worth a upgrade from a 7900x ?

  • What kinda chip you got in there, a Dorito?

    • It's all about the Pentiums!

  • Still waiting on an ATL for the 5800X3D

  • This one vs 7800X3D? I supposed the X3D still champs in terms of 1% lows yeah?

    • The 7800X3D remains the world's second-fastest gaming CPU, only behind the 9850X3D/9800X3D lineup.
