      $899 and I'll consider it…

    • +3

      What is HODL?

      • +39

Hold On for Dear Life or some shit like that.

But these guys are being delusional thinking Ultra phone will be under $1000 with the current AI ram and everything else shortage

        • +12

It's just someone's misspelling of "hold" that mixed with "hodor" being a thing in game of thrones, making it more significant than it should have been.

It has about as much real meaning as the whole six seven thing. But applied to the purchase of thousands of dollars of hardware or meme coins/stocks.

          • +3

            @freefall101:

misspelling of "hold" that mixed with "hodor" being a thing in game of thrones.

I always felt it was this.

            • -2

@John Doh: No I don’t think it is. Pretty sure it’s a popular crypto term. Hold on for dear life. Due to the crazy pricing volatility of crypto’s. Haven’t heard about that GOT thing before. Maybe it’s related to both.

            • -7

@John Doh: Strange time where $1448 phone is considered a bargain.

              • -1

@RTX9090Ti: iPhone left the chat. The biggest scam for zombies ;)

              • @RTX9090Ti: I bought S23 ultra 512GB for $1343.20 on 29/04/23

This is reasonable increase considering chip storage, AI boom, global inflation, and missing out on Samsung hoops 😂

                • -4

@sqheaven: I'd rather use a $300 Motorola phone, does the same job to make a call and SMS.

                  • @RTX9090Ti: After my s23 ultra screen cracked, I bought g86 as backup. It'll be with me as a backup for s26 (inside leather wallet) lol

                    • -3

@sqheaven: if everyone stops buying expensive phone and keep using $300 phone then the price will drop.

                  • @RTX9090Ti: Agree, cant beat the value on entry level phone. But we also dont buy digital cameras or DSLR anymore (some do, most dont anymore) so decent photography is important too. But low end phones are really catching up. A phone like The redmi note series can take that up a notch and can go a long way for 450 to 600 bux.

Do you think the world will survive till 9090 Ti is release? If yes, you can sue nvidia for using your username.

                    • -4

@John Doh: The world will surely survive as long as the fanboys keep buying expensive stuff and supporting price gouging.

You'll look forward to 9090 Ti being at $9090 RRP, rest assured.

                      • +1

@RTX9090Ti: Bro, if you neg this deal, you have to neg every iPhone deal. This phone just got released and is cheaper than the Chinese Xiaomi phones. I did not downvote you.

                      • @RTX9090Ti: Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 is alone 240 to 280 USD and the rest of the items including higher priced RAM and storeage, the BOM for S26 ultra is around 600USD. Thats almost 900AUD. They surely cant sell it below 1300 now can they? Because you have to consider software for 7 years, warranties, advertisement, shipping etc.

                        • -2

@John Doh: Incorrect, it costs them under $200 to make the phone.
Also if the past is any indication, it might be possible to get this phone for $400.

                          • @michael9865: Nah mate, those days are gone - https://www.notebookcheck.net/Snapdragon-8-Elite-Gen-5-price…

Just the SOC is around 250+ USD. Thats around 350 Aud for the processor itself.

                          • @michael9865: Yeah way off dude. S25 Ultra had an estimated bill of materials of up to $659 USD, S26 will be a lot more.
That also doesn't factor in R&D, shipping, software development etc.

                            This is a killer deal.

                            • @X2Jason: How, i managed to get it for s25 ultra 512gb for $799 aud before the phone trade in discount last year.

Hard to believe the components are more expensive

                • +1

@sqheaven: I bought S22 Ultra 256GB (I think at that time 128GB was the lowest) for $1049 in June 2022

                  • +1

@Averell: I just don't want curved edge anymore, terrible idea for viewing pictures, weak on the edge that's why easily cracks

                    • @sqheaven: yes, that curved edge is bad. But other than that, it's still a solid phone.
                      $13xx for a 256GB S26U is a good price. Should I upgrade?

              • @RTX9090Ti: I beg only $1999 for an iphone can consider as a bargain.
I see people consider $1500 office chair for home office as bargain, may be you are waiting for Motorola half price deal which is only 1/3 of samsung price or even less.

        • Woosh

      • +7

        HODORRRRR

    • +2

It is 99% unlikely to get it for $999, considering the RAM shortage and rapidly increasing AI push and investments, the prices of all components from storage to ram to semiconductors and processors, everything is set to rise in prices, my best guess is industry wise price rise will occur once Apple increases it’s prices for the Macbooks, iPhones and all other devices citing for the above mentioned reasons

      • +2

Yeah it will when S27 is close, their time will come patient young padawan

      • -1

AI is overrated to justify price increase, AI bubble with burst like the dot com.

    • +6

Not a chance, the S25U never got that cheap (excluding selling/returning the bonus accessories) and never had to worry about the ram issues

Pre-order deals are always the best time to buy

      • +2

I think it got to that price but via JB Telstra deals last year on pre order

      • +1

Agree, without linking to a plan, seconds or trade in , brand new just by discount code, it will not get cheaper than the pre order price. The best they will do is to close to matching the pre order price 2-3 months before the new one release but that only if they call you or you call them as different agent gives slightly different discount. They did call me for S25U but at 1400 mark for 256GB and I did not buy.

    • +4

Already close enough if you use amex and have the $100 off amex promo, got 256gb + 2 cases for $1066.64

      • +5

Guessing this wasn't the Ultra for $1,066? I was able to get Ultra 256gb + buds 4 for $1,143 including Amex.

      • +2

        that sounds like 26+?

    • brand new latest generation Galaxy Ultra 512GB will never drop that low

    • I am pretty content with my Motorola e32 i bought a few years ago for $69. I don't see the need to buy an expensive phone, just to show around.

  • What do you say to the chat bot to get the 2 codes? "For 26C and THY offer code"

    • +3

try using the chat on the website during business hours and get the bot to connect you to a human. I told the human agent that I'm loyal fan of Samsung and that I'm looking to upgrade to the S26 ultra from the S21 Ultra. The agent then gave me both the THY and 26C cod.

      • Didn't work for me. I've tried twice; once via WhatsApp, and once again today via Text chat. The first time they gave me a 26E code (I already had a 26S code) and then I just vaguely asked for more codes. Today, I specifically mentioned a friend of mine having used a thank you code they recieved in their email. Chat told me "… we don't have control on this code as this is sent via email by other department."

  • +7

Miss the old days … s25 ultra 256gb net price was about $870 after selling the buds that we covered by the ecosystem voucher.
    Maybe next year…

    • S26U wasn't that far off, $1280 with case and buds
      Considering inflation and ram issues

      • +1

Bought one for the wife, 1240 with buds 4, still about 300 more than last year.

      • $1126 each if you stacked GALAXYAI voucher with 3 phones in one order

    • +6

When did last year become 'the old days'

    • +2

I got my s26 ultra 256 for 1055. If I exclude my accessories my price was 900.00.
So was only 30 dearer and no trade in nonsense to worry about.

Last year trade in deal would require 60 fee if u don't send in your trade in.

      • +2

Unsure why you got downvoted, I managed the same thing through stacking Edu discount, 5% app purchase, extra trade-in value, $25 voucher marked up to $100 and $100 eco voucher + trade-in value of my S21 (standard). Paid $1033 all up which included Pro3s and a case. Glad I did now as no-way the code stacking this year will come close to this sort of deal.

    • +1

      Legendary deal!
I got S25 base 256GB for $510 after selling off accessories

      • How

      • How did you get this?

  • -1

Dupe + not even the best price you could get

  • +3

If you have access to comm bank Yello

    Galaxy S26 Ultra 256 - $1234.09

Acess partner portal via CBA Yellow
Login to Samsung account for 5% first timer discount
    Add the phone
    Apply the vouchers listed below
    Pay with CBA card
    - Loyalty voucher - Download Samsung Members app and get voucher from there - $200 (or $100 for S26 and Plus) (26x-xx etc)
Thank you voucher - if you have a samsung account and have opted for offers, you would have received it in email earlier in Feb. Otherwise try Samsung chat - $100 (THY-xxxx- etc)
    YELLOS26 - $50
The above brings it down to $1234.09

    • amex has $100 off, so that's lower than cba $50 off?

      • +2

If you have Amex that may work out cheaper, writing what worked for me, theres also some thread on how to use Amex via commbank yello( something about cutting internet)

        • yep that's what I did
          Will end up being $1143
If I sell buds for 150, that would bring down to under 1k

          • @shole: how did you get it $90 cheaper and with buds?

            • @Martyroz: using the $100 off $500 spend with Amex

    • Copied as is from the below post and just removed the GALAXYAI voucher bit? At least learn to credit the original poster :)

      https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/949616

      • @Megatron was mid edit of the original post to give you credit and then someone commented so it didn't allow the change! But defo not taking any credit from your original post thats what helped me get the deal in the first place mate 🙏🏾. Will write a comment next time if it happens again

        • +1

ha.. makes sense now.. sorry for the rant!

  • OP this would have been a better deal yesterday when you had the free storage upgrade. Now that its over, why not just get the 256GB version for cheaper?

    • +4

      100%. Got an S26U 512GB and Buds 4 Pro for $1520~.

      • +1

The free storage upgrade is still available however its not on offer when using the CommBank Yellow purchase option.

Do agree 256GB is better if you don't need the extra space.

        • I've had a 512 GB phone since October 2024; I've never gone over 50%, but I backup and clear photos off my phone.

          • @tonyamazing: Ah for some reason, I was thinking about the s tablets. Forgot the s phones dont have expandable storage

  • Any cheaper plan with tier 1 telco, with a S23U 512GB trade-in.

I dont want outright… is there any possibility?

    • Estimated trade-in using Sammy's is $410. Probably keep the phone.

Sammy offers 12 months 0% interest installment, if that's your thing. CBA's/OP's link requires payment via CBA card but I read there's a trick to get around this where you get to pay using a different card.. or maybe via the financing option…

      • However, you’re paying monthly fees for that interest-free payment through these banking channels. The only real way to get interest-free is to buy a phone on a plan from the telcos and then cancel the SIM plan. You can then offer to pay the phone with monthly instalments over 36 months.

        • The schedule of payment — over 12 months — is exactly the same as the outright amount. No monthly fees or anything — just direct debit from the nominated account.

Anything longer than 12 months is subject to interest.

  • +1

Any workarounds for those of us without a CommBank card or Gov ID/email account? Trying to get the S26U 1TB.

    • You can get to the Samsung Partnership Portal via Westpac rewards too. There’s a $50 discount when using the promo code, WESTPACS26 and paying with a Westpac credit or debit card.

  • +1

isnt the jb deal better than this?

    • It is better if you use Trade In coupon and use the Telstra ETC route only. Final price will be approx $1200 to $1250

Not everyone wants to go that route.

I got Ultra 512 GB with Buds at $1456

Not sure how this is good deal at $1448

      • Phone = $1874
        Buds 4 =$209

        Applied 26C-XX code - $200 off

        Applied THY-XX code - $100 off

        Applied YELLOS26 - $50 off

Applied GALAXYAI -$200 off (first 72 Hrs pre order )

5% First order Samsung website discount - $77

        1874+209=2083

        2083-200-100-50-200-77=1456

  • It’s not letting me pay with anything other than VISA/ MASTERCARD

    • yep Eftpos didn't work so had to create a new everyday account with mastercard debit

  • +3

I paid 1456 on commbank samsung offer including Galazy Buds 4

Samsung Ultra 512 GB and Buds 4

    • +1

      Hey bud, mind explaining how?

  • +3

    WESTPAC26 also takes $50 off.

    • Yeah I compared them they have exactly the same pricing with commbank Yello.

    Is this correct?

Do you think 1tb model is more value?

    • If you need more storage and ram

      • I'm thinking, storage = yes, ran = not so much

        Difference is $320
