Both referrer and referee receive $25 for signing up to NBN offer.
Any relief
Just apply some ointment to your NBN box for said relief.
Any cashback for switching
so this is 12/1? 25/5? 50/20? 100/20? 100/40? 250/25? 500/50? 1000/50?
speed tier would be helpful.
They've recently launched a new product called a webpage that contains all the relevant information you're looking for.
ADDED BONUS - finding it and reading it would have been quicker than writing your comment!!!
or.the op could post it. saving everyone having to click thru!
Tangerine has possibly the worst customer "service" I've ever experienced, and I needed it because they somehow managed to make a FW NBN connection atrocious as well. So yeah, never again - three days of constant disconnections was enough.
Agreed …. You get put through to different people and you have to verify your id again I got transfered 7 times in one phone call had to verify everytime .
i think dodo has worst customer experience
Fair enough, but they were vastly better for me then Tangerine. Luck of the draw, often.
I have used both Tangerine and Dodo before. I second the opinion that Dodo has worse customer service, even considering my experience as a victim of the Tangerine data leak.
can you opt out of cgnat on tangerine? their website says "If you need to opt-out of receiving a CGNAT IP address you can call our team on 1800 211 112 and explore what other options are available". which is a bit vague in sounding like "you can opt out if you buy a static ip"
Yes you can opt out of CG-NAT, call them or send a support request via the online care portal. You'll get switched from IPoE to PPPoE so be ready to change that setting on your router when the request is actioned
Thanks for the response.
I opted out of cgnat on day 1 of connecting to tangerine and got constant dropouts. They disabled it and it was stable again. Next day I got them to disable cgnat and it was stable from there on.
High constant speeds while I was with them. Only recently moved to exetel as my promo price had finished. Location Brisbane.
Customer service was fine for me, only had to authenticate once each call and not that long of a wait. Guess I was lucky and I was only opting out of cgnat. From the sounds off it, anything more complex is a guaranteed nightmare.
You can opt of out CGNAT and get a dynamic IP at no cost or pay $5 for static IP.
However, DO NOT go ahead with Tangerine if you need to forward incoming traffic on port 80 or 443 on your router to your reverse proxy or any other devices. Their new connections lands on Aussie Brandband, which has port 80 and 443 blocked by default. Tangerine customer care does not even know if port blocking is even a thing unless your ticket get escalated to L2 support. I had to go through this pain and eventually had to cancel the connection after a week of outage on my homelab and devices because of this.
Their customer support was helpful in the end once they understood and acknowledged the issue and have promised to refund in full, which is yet to be processed. Switched to Origin, which is cheaper for first 6 months and no issues. Had to call them also for opting out of CGNAT but no port blocking.
Currently with Leaptel and the honeymoon period savings are over :(
I was considering Tangerine given the post, but reviews seem a bit hit and miss for the customer service aspect
After the 6-month period, it's not worth it
500/40 $80 https://www.exetel.com.au/
Opt out of CG-NAT at no cost
Shame they still don't offer a static IP option for that plan. I believe Plex can struggle on dynamic IP.
Anyone have suggestions for a static IP plan? I am still rocking my exetel 50/20 with static IP but it's almost $90 a month now
| ISP | Static IP |
|---|---|
| Neptune Internet | $0 |
| Superloop | $5/m |
| Leaptel | IPv4 $10/m and IPv6 $0 |
After switching to Exetel, I have been experiencing dropouts more frequently (about 4 times a week). Once I get my cashback, it's byebye time
I'd rather pay a few extra dollars and go with a provider with atleast semi-decent Customer Service
Had so many daily drop outs with tangerine, super frustrating experience, i would pay a bit extra with someone else to save the headaches.
my 2cents
i would not recommend for the following reasons recently, but YMMV
- i asked for future connect date (30 days later), the next day, i was churned over
- call tangering (on hold 2 hour)
- i lost my AVC with previous provider, lost internet for two days
- resign up with another provider temporary, but still keep my tangerine connect date for the future
- future date came, my current nbn was disconnected because i gave noticed, however tangerine still didn't connect me (they said its still pending)
- call tangerine again (2 hours later), cannot do anything
- advised them to cancel my order, and refund me
10000% worst customer service, even if they are cheapest, i value my NBN to be connected
News from a reliable source - Tangerine are moving to Aussie Broadband.
Looks to be confirmed after just receiving this:
Between mid-March and the end of June, your Tangerine nbn® service will be powered by Aussie Broadband, Australia’s most trusted network. The move for current customers will happen over a number of weeks, and we'll reach out both 7-days and 1-day before we move your service on to the network. We’re aiming to make this change with minimal disruption to your service, and in most cases it will be seamless.
I was impacting by Tangerine Data breach which they did nothing about it.They took no responsibility of it. Won't be going back to them again.
Worst customer service I have experienced ever among many different internet providers I have used for past 10+ years.
No ownership of the case handling and takes 3 days to reply back to a simple email.
Their customer service is atrocious and they get their invoices wrong so you need to keep an eye on that. Having said that, we didn’t have any issues with speed and performance.
I can vouch that Tangerine’s customer service is an absolute joke based on my past experience. Make sure you give them at least one full billing cycle’s notice before switching to another provider.
Make sure you give them at least one full billing cycle’s notice before switching to another provider
I have never had to do that for either Tangerine or More.
There is no required notice period. You just need to make sure you call up and cancel your Tangerine account once the switch is complete.
Maybe it's being confused with Superloop, which definitely does this
Also, Superloop owned Exetel is notorious for this.
They ask you thousand questions when you give your 30-day notice.
Any ideas when IPv6 is coming? (faq's just say no)
I can opt out of cgnat, but ipv6 is my last sticking point.
Tempted to churn from Arctel
ARCTEL have been terrible, both in performance and communication.
I gave notice, they kept sending form emails give us a chance, I repl, ied and they said ah well, its 30 days from now.
Never again!
Well, if people want more of the same with a different same, strongly recommend this company.
Warning! DO NOT join this company!
I called them and confirmed all bills are all paid up, my connection was churned to other company and triple confirmed with them that I am good to go, still they charged me again & again from my debit card (I purposely transferred all money into saving account), and then they says I owe them money, I even called and told them I got the "sorry that you left us" email, they confirmed the issue but they don't care, and then pass my details to debt collector to keep harassing me! This happened to other users too (on ozbargain)
short answer:
they keep charging you AFTER you left, and they will pass your details to debt collector and keep harassing you!
Please file a complaint with TIO if you haven’t already done so.
Now I see why they have better deals than others
Any relief for those who signed up when it was $63.90 per month?
