when is the last day to active the sim card? thanks

    • +6

It activates as soon as you purchase.

      • -3

        But that wasn't his question

@kslcom to answer your question, look at the expiry date of this deal

        • +4

I’m 99.9% sure I answered his question as he intended it.

  • I’m not sure why, but after I clicked “BUY $1 eSIM DEAL,” the $2 prepaid SIM was added to my cart.

    • use the boost app. esim vs sim ?

      • I use two eSIMs on my phone. After I disabled one of them, I experienced the same issue.

Ayo let's get some free burritos

    • -1

Please don’t eat burritos milk… milk is good why you need burrito unless you go for plant based burritos

      • +1

You're so Fenny… Giving milk orders like you're their boss or something

  • edit: nevermind, needed to enable esim on my phone for the option to be seen in the boost app

    • +1

Good to know. I don't need a spare number so won't be participating in this offer.

  • Does anyone know if you can port number?

  • Can i get qr code to download the esim from boost?

  • +1

Doesn't work on Android app. Page does not load for esim

      • +1

Yeh i have enabled already. As I have another esim in my phone which I tried turn on and off.

    • Not just Telstra, many places don't permit it. Annoying but fair enough. It minimises the number of accounts the same user can create without a legit address.

  • If I’ve already got a Boost service, can I have a second?

    • +1

A few people encountered issues with the eSIM download e.g. here.

      • A few people encountered issues with the eSIM download.

yep, that would be me. chat rep just said wait 24 hours.

        • +1

Isn't this what they always say for an issue unknown to them?
Once I had a chat rep tell me to wait "48 working hours" (Uh, 8 hours x 6 days?)
I asked them, calculate the number of days and tell me - they weren't able to tell anything at all.

          • @djoz: yeah, i mentioned their own instructions said wait 4 minutes to 4 hours. seems rather arbitrary. meanwhile, the maya esim worked immediately

You can have second Boost service with a new number.

  • When do you have to activate it by?

    • It's an eSIM and activates when you purchase.

      • So all good to buy a few of these and just activate them whenever?

        • Unfortunately not. As mentioned, I asked Boost and was told it activates at the time of purchase. Someone mentioned here too. (I don't need this eSIM so haven't bought)

          • +1

@trixieb: Ah okay, that makes sense. Thanks.

  • +1

Hmmm, sale ends before i need this but even at $13, it's a convenient way to get Telstra coverage for a week when i am down at Tassie later this year.

    Thanks OP.

    • How bad is non Telstra?

      • If Vodafone's coverage map had more labels I'd be able to tell you for sure but the map looks like it doesn't have good coverage down at Cradle Mountain and Google Gemini also said Vodafone coverage at Cradle is poor:

        https://www.vodafone.com.au/network/coverage-checker

Telstra has coverage all around Dove Lake and up to Marions Lookout even from the looks of the map

        https://www.telstra.com.au/coverage-networks/our-coverage

I'll be hiking alone so maintaining mobile coverage where possible in the event I have an emergency would be good.

@Mugsy May I suggest you buy this physical Boost $12 SIM from TopCashback: Boost Mobile: $7 Cashback on 75GB 28-Day Prepaid SIM for $12 (Was $39). Please read the post description for converting the physical SIM to eSIM and tracking tips if you're not familiar.

The SIM would cost $12 for 75GB. Activate only when you need for your Tassie trip later. Buy via TopCashback for potential $7 cashback but don't activate within 30 days.

If you're lucky, Telstra/Boost may pay the $7 cashback without the 30 day activation. If cashback is rejected, $12 cost is still $1 cheaper (with more data) than this $13 7-day SIM.

Cheers for the tip bud! That's a much better deal.

  • This esim says it includes Unlimited Calls & Text to standard national numbers. For some reason I can't make calls or send texts 🤔

    • +1

It may not have been activated. Check your settings or contact Boost.

  • What do you guys do after 7 days?

    • +3

sit in a corner and cry, i guess..

      • +1

        🤣

    • +1

These are often purchased purely to gain a new mobile number to use for sign-ups on places for promo's. Think the likes of Kayo (New Customer = new mobile no.).
In short: A disposable number. It remains active for up to six months if required for receiving TOTP (Time-Based One-Time Passwords) to etc.

      • clever! ty, I now have a new strat!

  • Is this as good as Telstra in remote areas ? I will be working in the mines in outback WA and need good coverage

  • Hey Boost, how about $52 260GB 365 day plan :) ?

  • +1

Doesnt work for me on ios. Already have an esim with them. When ‘buy prepaid plan on esim’ it just loads back to the home page.

    • Same issue, cannot find a way to resolve this

  • Hi, trying boost for the 1st time. As soon as i download the app and try to buy a service, it comes with an error that no Telstra email associated with the account. Can someone guide how to obtain this please.

    • Yeah their system is tangled with Telstra and pretty confusing. I guess first you need a service active to create an account

  • Any chance the 7 days only starts after we download the eSIM profile so we can maybe postpone the activation that way?
