    Def beats GalaPower's dodgy practice

    https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/947997

    • -1

I got that gala power claw machine, what do you mean dodgy practice? I wasn’t happy with them switching my Lexar SSD which has TLC to a crucial with QLC and them calling it “equal specs”, if that’s what you mean?

      • +3

Did you read any text on the deal OzBargain4Eva linked?

        • -7

No I bought a different PC and had read that entire thread and got mixed up with this thread, that’s a different PC to the one I bought from them. Mine was the $3899 Claw.

    • +2

Gala itself is dodgy. They made BF deal and I commented that it is more expensive than xxxx. They called 5 keyboard warriors to attack

  • +1

Cheaper than the 9070 deal. What's the catch I'm missing?

    • +4

9070 XTs have gotten cheaper, cheaper case, and this deal has a QLC SSD instead of TLC.

  • +7

    RIP techfast

    • +4

Will be remembered forever…. or at least for a few months.

    • Is OP the next techfast?

      • I hope not. I have 2 years warranty left on my build. Plus they build within the time specified and the build and packaging were excellent. Combined with their good pricing I really hope they're around when it's time for another upgrade.

        • +3

I bought from techfast, GPU card not working, asked me to mail back and then no response for over 2 weeks, be careful

        • +7

To my knowledge, there isn't a vast majority of OzBargain system builders that have 3 years warranty and are still active on here to honour claims. We have had a handful of cases nearly at the 3-year mark, and we have warranted all those cases and have provided remedies. In certain cases where the GPU is no longer attainable, we have given equivalent or free upgrades. Recently, there was an AsRock 7800XT case, and repair wasn't an option, so we provided an ASUS PRIME RX 9070 as a free upgrade.

Another case with a system close to the 3-year mark recently, where unfortunately, issues kept arising despite multiple brand new replacements. After a few times, we offered a brand new system of equivalent value at the time of purchase with no questions asked.

Though, these cases are rare, we are really reasonable and put the customer first with our warranty process provided there is a warrantable fault. I doubt for these particular cases, these people will come forward and attest to my claims; they are real cases.

    • What happened? They no longer doing the business?

      • +1

Allied Corporation Asia Pacific Pty Limited (Administrators Appointed)

        • +1

Thanks for that, that explains why no deals from these guys for a long time.

      • they went bust

  • So, good price for the current market?

  • +2

Any chance this code can be used when selecting a difference case? I'm keen on purchasing but switching the case to a Lian Li DAN-A3.

    • +1

Yes, it will work. Please allow 30 seconds for the system to recognise your custom configuration :).

  • Anyone have a 9070 any problems etc?

    • +2

nope, my 9070 has been rock solid

    • Turn off auto driver updates in windows update through GPE. Win update kept overwriting drivers and adrenaline causing issues. Otherwise the card itself and drivers have been quite good. A few drive crashes but mostly related to the win update issue I believe.

FSR 4 is quite decent, not as good as NV's latest transformer model but still what I would call adequate and useable.

  • Nice price for 4k gaming!

  • +1

Can you offer a simple air cooler for CPUs which don't need liquid cooling?

    • +1

Yep, will add the MSI AA13 black tonight.

Do you also mean you want to have other CPU options like 7500F/7700?

      • Out of curiosity, would the 7800x3d offered need a liquid cooler? Or would it be OK with an air cooler?

        • +2

The 7800X3D and 9800X3D chips run perfectly fine with air coolers. I'm using a 9800X3D (-25 UV) with one of the Thermalright coolers and temps are ace when gaming.

  • +2

This price seems pretty crazy compared to a lot of other deals I've seen lately, no? As someone who's not hardware savvy, is this a good combination of things? I only sort of kept up with hardware back in the day but never made my own pc, but these days it seems like manufacturers are throwing as many letters as they can on products!

Are things like the ram/cpu/gpu a good combination? If I had a bit of extra budget would it be worth upgrading something in the pc? For reference it'd be mainly gaming - my current main game is heavily modded minecraft which should run fine, but also some newer games I've been wanting to play for a while but haven't been able to like cyberpunk 2077, baldurs gate 3 and other games like that. I also enjoy coding as a hobby and wouldn't mind picking up some game dev stuff with unity/godot

    • Perfect for ya.

      • Awesome, thanks! You wouldn't recommend the 9800x3d to be safe?

        • +1

I wouldn't. The gains would be marginal for most. 5% or less.

          Some will of course disagree.

          • @Naigrabzo: Excellent, thanks for that! While nice, I think I'd rather save the $200 and not worry about the 5% difference.

  • How would this go with a 4k monitors? 1440 it is ideal but wonder if it would be good enough for most games before 2023

    • +1

With upscaling the 9070 XT is capable at 4K; I'm playing TLOU Part 1 at 4K maxed settings with FSR4 quality upscaling (no frame gen) and it's a smooth 70-80FPS experience (paired with 9800X3D)

      • +2

Thanks for the replies on this and my other one mate! I'm moving from console so a bit hesitant.

I don't play many new games but would be tempted by the odd one such as Arc raiders and bo7, would they do well in 4k with the upscaling? Majority of games would be single player ones e.g BG3, Yakuza games and resident evils that should be good with 70+ fps as long as there is no clear jumping.

        • +1

With those faster-paced titles you'll want higher frame rates, so I'd personally drop down to 1440p; but TBH I'm not too sure how those games run, they might actually be fine running 144FPS+ at 4K.

Depends though if you're using a 27" or 32" monitor, 4K with balanced/performance upscaling may look and perform better than a 32" 1440p output without upscaling, or vice versa. If you're using a 4K 27" monitor, downscaling to 1440p looks fine.

Would suggest looking at some benchmark figures for the 9070 XT and seeing how it the card performs in the games and resolution you want to play.

  • +1

Are these guys good? Heard they don't do well if you have an issue later on..

    • +1

Purchased 4 x “Empress” for a client. Arrived in a couple of weeks. They were packed tremendously well. One of the PCs didn’t recognise GPU. Their after-sales support (also after 5pm) was great and it was an easy fix. It’s only been a month, but so far so good.

    • +1

They made me a pc for a plex set up brilliant customer service and no issues with it.. It's about a year old now

    • +2

Thank you for your kind words, gentlemen! Oh wow, I didn't know you were from OzBargain for the 4x Empress systems haha. Good to hear the Plex system is working well too!

Thank you for your support, guys!

  • Would this happen to come with the accessories for the CPU cooler for other CPU sockets? Thinking of swapping the motherboard, ram and GPU into my case but didn't really want an AIO and my current CPU is an intel 1700 socket

    • We can arrange that yes, please email us so we can put a note. Otherwise, we can swap for an air cooler like the MSI AA13.

  • What size GPU can this case take. Looking at one of the other linked deals

    • +1

Roughly 42cms in length, you will have lots of options available!

  • Is the 9800 worth the extra 200 and is a motherboard upgrade to the 850 worth while or will gaming performance be negligible?

    • +1

As someone with a 9800X3D and a B850 board, no.

  • +1

I was going to order with Afterpay but they charge you AU$110.25 now for the pleasure of using them. Snapped me out of it. I don't need yet another gaming PC!! I don't think i'll be using Afterpay anymore either.

  • Any chance to swap the GPU for a RTX 5070 ti in this bundle?

    • Not for this deal unfortunately, sorry.

  • Do you guys accept Zippay by any chance ?

    • Only AfterPay at this stage. The buy now pay later solutions are tough due to the fees they charge us per transaction.

  • -2

Unfortunate to see after purchasing the 9070 deal 2 weeks ago. Any chance of swapping to this while accounting for the wait?

    • Sorry about this. IT is a fast-moving industry, and pricing is always changing. If we haven't dispatched your system yet please contact us and we can make the change to this build for you.

  • +1

Do you guys have any 5070TI or 5080 deals coming soon?

  • I'm also curious if you have any 5080 deals coming up?

  • Hi, is there an option for a 7500f instead? Also what cl is the ram🙏.

    • In guessing cl30 but could change on what's available

    • Not the 7500F, but I did just add the R7 7700 for you. It'd be a better pairing and will save you around $100.

  • What's the best monitor spec for this machine?

    • Depends on what FPS you demand and the games you are playing. I would say 1440P 180Hz would be fine for this setup, entry-level 4K gaming is also possible, but please don't expect super high FPS.

  • do u guys accept paypal

    • Not anymore, we've had too much trouble with them in the past, and we no longer offer this option.

  • Shame there's not a 5070TI option, when i messaged them all i got was if you want that here's a $4500 option

  • Is the deal still up? When I click 'go to deal' it shows a price of 2900

    • Yes, the deal is still live and active. Please use OZB_MARCHMADNESS_$500OFF in checkout, and the price will be brought down to $2398.

      • What are the case dimensions for the N7 MATX?

    • Have you seen how big they are? That thing bouncing around with no bracing is asking for something to snap

    • They're shipped with the graphics card installed. We use protective packaging to support all components so they don't move. However, if you're concerned, we can ship seperately at an additional cost (the courier will charge us more).

There's a QR code for setup, also with pictures, but totally understand it can be daunting. Please reach out to us if you or your friend has any issues! Thank you!

      Lawrence
