Queue the obligatory "how are these to use on my balls" comment…..

quite good, but always use the smallest blade cover.

      • I'd say the opposite. Bought this a while ago and find it pretty piss weak.

        • Your pubes must be made from titanium.

whys the gooch get no love in 2026

No one was gonna ask that

Ive used these on the teeth setting, let me tell you it will wake you up in the morning thats for sure.

I'd say it could do the job but is better suited to head hair. Get a smaller thing for such areas. I own one and dont use it for that.

    • I use the Bodygroom series 5000 for my junk. Works well enough.

  • +1

I am using this. Its great but kind of difficult for self cut as blades and handle are not parallel to each other (its angled blade).

    • Self cut hair on head? I had never thought of angle vs non-angled for self cut before. I assumed all clippers were much the same.

  • Be gentle using the clear comb, I barely bumped the smaller one and it snapped pretty easily.

    • +4

      It's plastic. Must've been a nice 'bump'

      • lol, they will always blame everything else but themselves.

    • +1 on this, attachments are shyte, snapped without really doing anything rending the thing useless

How does this compare to the multi groom MG3640/15 Series 3000 ? Is this a significant upgrade?

  • Thanks OP, bought one.

  • Going on 4 years for my Philips HC5630 model. As far as I know its just got a bigger battery and turbo mode. But it's double the price. I got for $50~. Great quality so far.

    • Got mine for 6 years also, best trimmer I had in a while

Spend a bit more and get one that charges via Type C.

    • Why?

      • Fabio sells type-C trimmers (for a bit more)

      • +1

Traveling not having to deal with sockets and voltages. Also clippers come in brushless in this price range from AliExpress these days so look out for those as well .

So that you're trimmer doesn't become useless E waste if the proprietary chord breaks/goes missing like my last Philips one did.

  • I’m confused by the reviews on this - is this product recommended or no?

Looking to use it for body only 3mm

  • comparing this one to the remington rapid ultimate, which is better? any advise?

      I have both.
      Pros (remington rapid ultimate):
Much easier to use if you're cutting your own hair.
And since it's nearly double the width it cuts in half the time.

      Pros (philips)
Love the adjustable guide vs having a bag of giant guides for the remington
It's more nimble, so easier to get into the base of your neck and behind your ears etc.

      Cons (philips)
That plastic guide is super brittle.

  • Can this cut dogs hair?
    I have a small terrier x poodle

    • +1

Depends on how well you can hold your dog down while this thing is BZZZZZZZing

  • I have one, its great.

    • Do you use it for your hair or body?

      • 6mm for my head, 3mm for my beard.

        • go on…

I have this product, it works well, but there is one thing that annoys me: it has no battery level indicator. You cannot tell how much battery is left in this thing, and it might run out during your haircut. When you charge, the green LED lights up, but it doesn’t indicate when it is fully charged and can be unplugged. Infuriating product design.

    • I use mine while charging if it goes flat during cutting (rare), problem solved.

      • +1

i just charge mine after a few cuts, no issue at all. you don't have to run it dead before charging, lol.

        • Yeah exactly. It's happened like twice in 4 years, first time was out of the box and next time was after three months of use to test the battery life, monthly hair trims and the occasional weekly shave.

I have this and have had no issues with it. I use it for everything, and I mean everything. Definitely use the smallest sized comb for anything sensitive. As another poster mentioned, it will wake you up and most likely everyone one else in the house.
Mine in maybe 4 to 5 years old and sometimes misses a strand or two on my head, which is also on the lowest comb size. Generally best to do a few passes at different angles anyways.
It will NOT give you a super close shave when not using a comb, but it does a pretty decent job at giving a close enough shave.
Cant comment on battery life as I use mine corded, which has slightly more power.

I paid around $50 for mine as am very, very happy with it. Fantastic for this price, I'll probably buy another as a spare.

  • Beard trimmer broke yesterday so hopefully this one is a suitable replacement. Thanks op

I have this. All good except the attachment is hard plastic and a part of it broke off after I dropped it (without being attached to the shaver).

This is a great price.. I purchased one during Covid for around this price and it's still going very strong.
