Darrell Lea Easter Bunny 160g $3.50 C&C Only @ Kmart

260

I believe this is an online price error. Sold out for delivery but available for click and collect. Listed as $7.50 in store, however still $3.50 online. 1 store cancelled my C&C, but another one honoured it.

It's possible that they'd scan as $3.50 in-store, however I have not tested this. (confirmed as $7.50 in-store by genxsoftclub)

that is funny actually. I forgot about that

Can you blame him? I mean who doesn't love Easter? It's literally Jesuses birthday!

Milk chocolate. 58% sugar, 23% cocoa. $21/kg. meh. give me real chocolate please.

And we are barely into Lent, a month of abstinence. The time to promote sugary treats is after Lent, heathen!
It seems like Lent is better known by its Arabic name these days, 'Ramadan'.

(My NDIS-provided AI assistant informs me I really need to signal irony here, so I insert ☺ )

    • +5

Ramadan is the name of the month when consecutive days of fasting occurs. The Arabic word for fasting is Sawm, which also means "to abstain".

Lent on the other hand, is something you find in your belly button /s

      • Arab Christians, like all Christians, are currently in Lent, and will say "Siyam Mabrouk" the same as Muslims.

        • +3

There's Christians in my belly button? I was wondering why it was so holey.

    • What "real chocolate" all milk chocolate is 40-60% sugar and has been for a long time. I'm off chocolate these days but a nice Lindt 95% dark is an alternative with minimal sugar

    • What are you on about dude? You seem very incoherent.

        ELI5:
        - This is low-quality chocolate mostly sugar. Suitable for children.
        - I'm sick of Christmas stuff sold in October, Halloween merchandise in July, Easter a month ahead. Its bullshit.
        - instead of whining, i put it a bit tongue in cheek.
        - Incoherent? Yeah was trying to be entertaining and fell flat on my face. Oh dear, boo hoo. Live and learn.

        HTH

  • 3.50 for 160g of chocolate is now considered price error?

    • +4

These are $6 down from $10 at woolies. In 2026, yes $3.50 is very cheap, as insane as that sounds.

  • Whilst my store has them, the cart system says it's unavailable for C&C so suggests this one might now be cooked?

    • +1

I just ordered 12 from my store. May have got in just before though.

    • It still appears to work for my store

  • +11

Cocoa production is now stable and cost per ton is back to 2023 prices.
Surely that means chocolate at the supermarket is coming down in price right.
    Insert Padme meme

    • +4

Oh my, that just makes me even more infuriated at colesworth if that's even possible.

    • Sir, this is Wend…errr Kmart, not the supermarket.

    • +1

Most seasonal chocolates (easter/xmas) are made over 6 months before the season starts so there could be a legitimate delay in the price dropping.

    • -1

Yes, excluding every other cost involved with your chocolate hitting the shelves that has materially increased.

  • -8

    ewwww

    • +2

Darrel Lea is still far superior to most supermarket brands. Do you buy Haighs for all of your family for easter?

      • +2

The Darrell Lea that hit the supermarkets is trash. Back when it was just a chocolate store it tasted good

        • +3

a second Darrell Lea has hit the twin supermarkets

  • +3

I know it's a special item. Original price is $46.88 per kilo. Discounted at $23.44. Easier to give the kids cash.

    • +1

cause the best unit of measure for chocolate is in Kilos?!!

  • +2

Shows in stock, but wont let you click n collect or get delivered in SA…which is probably a good thing.

Got given a DL Mint choc bar last week. Choc texture is wrong (like the oil and water content has separated). The Aldi blocks are superior, and by a long way.

No idea about the rabbits though. Guessing the same deal.

  • +2

For health reasons I'm very happy chocolate has become a crap item.
    ( Sugar/various added oils)

Means I will buy less but will enjoy some that has not been eshitifficationed

  • Yeah all the Ipswich stores said available for Click and Collect till I got to the check out :-(

Went in today to check the price and it’s scanning as $7.50

The manager came to override the price and said “I’ll submit a request to get this fixed on the website”

    • Am I missing something? You brought it to their attention so now they'll fix the price and the Deal is dead?

      • Well to get the lower price I had to call the SA over who then called her manager to override the price to give me the $3.50 price
