$5 Standard Movie Tickets (Including Booking Fee) + $0.40 Surcharge for Card Payments @ Toyota Go

1610

Here we go again. Deal expires April 1 or after the limited allocation of 3000 tickets is exhausted (which will probably happen within hours of this post).

Maximum 2 tickets per person.

You will be emailed vouchers for the cinema you selected. If you selected Hoyts, the vouchers will expire 31/03/2029. If you select a cinema other than Hoyts you will be sent tickets for the exact movie date/time you selected.

Select a session on Saturday/Sunday for a "Restricted" Hoyts voucher (not valid Sat/Sun from 2pm & public holidays). If you select a session between Monday - Thursday, you will receive a voucher that can only be redeemed Monday - Thursday. Unfortunately, this time it looks like they've excluded the unrestricted vouchers, as you can't select a session after 2pm on the weekends.

Limited to those registered with the Toyota app, using their benefits brand "Toyota Go".

      Yep plus max 2 tickets

      Damn!

  • Trying to login but says "User with this token could not be found."

  • Do you need to own a Toyota to have an account?

    • I am wanting to know this too

    • +1

Yes but it has to be a 2000 model onwards.

      • -1

damn so we can't go buy an old beater to get discounted movie tickets?

  • Always good to grab, thanks! Make sure you login to movies site first or the full price will be shown at checkout

  • Showing the full price to me. Any idea?

    • Me too

    • +2

Had the same, but went through to payment and it showed the $5 price

      • +1

Solved now. It’s a weird log in issue

      • Thanks! It worked!

  • The last time I did this. I received unrestricted tickets for Palace and Ritz. If I was to select them again would these now be tickets for the exact date and time?

    • +1

Probably not then - I've only tested the Hoyts vouchers.

      • +1

Cheers – I’ll test them now. Will report back.

        • Booked session for the morning of Saturday 10:30am @ Palace Cinemas.

          Received Unrestricted Voucher Exp: 31/May/2027

    • +2

Bought event vouchers. Tried to redeem them on a weekday standard session, said the vouchers were not valid.
Looks like they are locked into the exact session you selected when you originally purchased them. If that session is a lux session, you will be charged the difference between a standard session and whatever the lux session costs. For me it was an additional $7. So I paid $12 for a lux session, which is usually $30.

      • What do you mean locked to exact session?

The exact cinema I choose and exact time?

Or can be any cinema in that chain?

This is the message that comes up when I try to book a different movie on a different day at the same cinema:

          *Warning

          Voucher Not Valid

The voucher is not valid. Please check the below.

Ensure you have entered in the correct voucher code

Ensure your voucher is not expired and available to redeem. You can check it’s validity Here

Check your voucher’s original Terms and Conditions and ensure the voucher is not excluded for redemption on this selected session. It may not be valid for this session type, seat type, session day and time, or film type.

Ensure you are redeeming an admission voucher. Food and beverage vouchers (barcode starts with a ‘G1F’) are not valid for redemption online. These can only be redeemed in store on the day of your session.

If you attempt all of the above steps and are still experiencing trouble with redemption, either head in store to redeem your voucher, or contact customer support Here for assistance.*

          • @end user: Did you book Hoyts?

If trying to redeem in cinema do you think you will face the same issue? Maybe it's only locked online

          • @end user: Had the same issue with Event Cinemas. The Toyota Go ones are getting more locked down.

      • **Correction, I didn't book a lux session. The session I chose was standard, but has recliner seats as an option in certain parts of the cinema. It a $7 upgrade, which the vouchers don't cover. But does allow you to upgrade to, if you are willing to pay the difference.

      • Wait what? I thought event/village was unrestricted

Is that from this deal or the previous one (posted in Feb).

My voucher just had an expiry date.

  • Cant see them anywhere - all normal price

    • Applies at checkout or in cart. Not when they're displayed. Make sure you get the standard tickets not PREM though.

Thanks. Redeemed. Hoyts. Vouchers show expiry May 2029! It is a cludgy process with the Toyota Go / cinema connection. I found it easier on a desktop rather than phone apps.

Also maybe useful app info on previous thread https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/946933

  • +6

Google Pay is free of surcharge.

    • Yup paid through Google Pay and no surcharge, $10 for 2 tickets.

  • Only 2 tickets! What a shame. Was 20 last time

    • Just buy 10 Toyotas

  • perfect thanks. bringing price down on check out

  • Thanks OP, booked 2 tickets 5 each +1.75 each Hoyts seat reservation fees. All went through using a web browser.

    • It's not a gift card, you enter it at the ticket select screen (adult, concession etc)

  • My Hoyts tix says Expires: 31/10/2028

  • Thanks! Got two for Hoyts.

Missed out on the last deal for four tickets for $20 by like a minute, I was spewing.

  • I got two tickets for Village and they came through as just Restricted vouchers (Booked a Thursday night) - Expiry 30/11/26

    • Were the village vouchers you got good to use for any movie/session like HOYTS or restricted to the selected session? Keen to have village vouchers ready to use next month!

      • Any movie/session - Just not after 5pm Friday/Saturday as mine were restricted tickets

        Used them today no problem

  • +2

Thanks OP. Redeemed for Palace - Unrestricted ticket til April 2027

    • Thanks! Can confirm that this is indeed the case

  • +3

Thanks OP, got 2 Hoyts vouchers expiry 2029. Some hiccups I experienced

    1. Creating a toyota go account from https://www.toyota.com.au and when i went to checkout, it showed a login screen on the sidebar but my login didn't work. Turns out you need to register a separate account for "toyota go movies" which you can do from the sidebar.
    2. The cost shown pre-checkout is full price but when you go to pay, it comes up as $5 + 0.40 surcharge per ticket.
    3. Make sure you select a standard session on a weekend to maximise voucher usage as per OP instructions.
    • do you need to register a Toyota car for your account?

      • Nope. Just need real email for the vouchers and phone number which can be fake (can’t recall if the sidebar rego asks for one).

  • Got x2 thanks.

    Restricted - Expires 31/05/2029

  • Thanks OP - opening night of "Project Hail Mary" locked in (amaze, amaze, amaze!)

    • +1

Amaze! But my local Hoyts doesn't show tickets for the 19th yet. How did you book opening night?

      • Capalaba BCC showed tickets for the 19th. Couldn't believe my luck with this deal: literally booked the first seats of the showing.

        • +1

          I see them now. Awesome

  • Thanks, OP. Got 2 tickets -Expires 31/05/2029

  • Thanks OP

  • Thanks OP. Got 2 restricted tickets at Hoyts.

  • isn't village cinemas tickets brought for weekend were also not unrestricted, has this changed. Can anybody confirm who brought village cinema weekend tickets?

  • +1

Thanks OP! Got Hoyts, valid until June 2029.

    • Same, Hoyts E-Voucher Expires 30/06/2029, Not valid for sessions on Saturdays and Sundays from 2pm onwards, or sessions on public holidays.

  • Thanks OP

  • It won't let me log in.

  • Do you guys get tickets straight away or do you need to wait. I have paid it but at the end it didnot give me ticket nor have been emailed the ticket. What should I do?

    • You should have gotten an e-mail that details the session you booked, as well as links to your vouchers soon after you completed your transaction. Is it possible you may have mistyped your e-mail?

    • +1

Mine was in the promotions tab in Gmail

  • +1

I tried buying Friday evening Village tickets and it said cannot process this promo code despite no promo code being entered

Don't think there's a way to get Village tickets to be valid on weekend evenings or public holidays

Update: My restriction didn't mention public holidays despite no public holiday sessions showing up on the Toyota page, I just used mine for labour day tomorrow!

    • Were the village vouchers you got good to use for any movie/session like HOYTS or restricted to the selected session? Keen to have village vouchers ready to use next month!

      • +1

I bought them for a different movie and day than I used them for, no issues. The ticket said restricted (no after 5pm Friday and Saturday) with an expiry of October 2026.

I bought a Thursday evening voucher like someone else advised above, not sure how much that matters

  • Anyone else bought Wallis Cinema tickets? The email claims to show it to the staff, and its for the exact movie session and time and date?
And that 1 ticket is paid and the other ticket is free?
I can't find any other comments about WALLIS Cinema, so maybe a heads-up for other users?

  • Is the allocation exhausted? Can't seem to get it to $5 anymore.

  • Same here I used yesterday afternoon and it worked but today (20 March 2026) seems like it don't work anymore. Anyone?

  • same not working today
