I have one with the exact same specs. It’s a very well-built laptop with great specs and very good battery life. I highly recommend it.

    • How's the fan noise?

      • +12

        whoosh whoosh

    • Same, same laptop and specs. I put the build quality up with my Dell XPS 13 (normal keyboard). Great laptop.

  • +8

Regular price since last year, honestly was expecting the price to go up with the RAM prices

    • Apparently lenovo has (had?) stock on hand - definitely not going to last forever.

    • Coupon is applied automatically, that's why.

    • +3

Looks like i am a bad boy :)

      • +1

You got more neg than OP got upvotes, something not right…

        • +2

Hmmm time to go bed 😃

  • +1

I bought the same model with 512 SSD and 1920x1200 display, very good, and way cheaper than this price.

    • +3

Yea, +$100 for the storage, and +$150 for the display upgrade, +$300 if you got the touch, +$300 if you went from the 5 to the 7.
So all in all, this is a good price.

  • The v means less power?

    • Integration of RAM on CPU chip.

    • its CPU
Single core processor on V (slightly lower) is comparable to H
but the multi core processor on V is much lower than H

In saying that, the 258V is good, and depending on your usage, this is a great spec

  • I suggest waiting for a cashback deal. Just 3-4 days ago it was the same price plus a 13% cashback from Shopback.

No more touch because, according to chat, they have no supplies. I don't know how true that it. There was touch 3rd week of feb. I know because I've been looking at these for a few weeks now.

$1,629.37 at the EDU store, if anyone has access, with a $1 sleeve.

    • Do you know if you can use OP’s code on top of the student price to get further discount?

      • Nope, that is the price after using the code. The student portal just gives you an automatic further discount is all.

  • Asking for a friend. This or the m5 air with edu pricing at $1630?

    • +5

I have access to this and an m4 air. If you don't mind MacOS, then I think the m5 air is better.
Better screen, better battery life, it stays on just like a phone and is snappy to use.

      • -3

Also, Lenovo is infamous for taking a long while to ship. If you want the laptop soon, buy from a store or get the Apple.

        • +2

Nah man. They ship really fast… a few days.

    • +3

If you don't like fan noise, go for the M5 air. I'm selling my recently purchased IdeaPad with Ryzen 350 and getting an M5 Air instead. The fan noise during light tasks is killing me. All Lenovos I've had have never been as quiet as arm-based MacBooks.

      • +5

There are no other laptops that can maintain performance like the MacBooks that are also fan-less. It is truly astonishing what Apple has achieved with their silicone chips. If only MacOS usage was closer aligned to Windows, then the learning curve required to transition would be easier.

  • When Panther lake at this price? Surely they will lose sales to apple if they price more.

    Waiting for the rizz edition

  • +4

Bought one last year and the keyboard failed 3 times and then the screen. Each time they refused a refund and replaced the keyboard for the issue to come back. Called in fair trading and basically nothing happened. Eventually they agreed to a full refund. Specs are good, value is good but support is a nightmare. YMMV.

    • +3

I had the same sort of issue with a lenovo years ago.
Got a great deal on the specs but customer support sucked.
Laptop shut down randomly and it got to the point where it basically wouldn’t start. Lenovo replaced the ssd 2 or 3 times and it never fixed anything. I suspect it was a motherboard issue.
Kept going back and forth until I was outside of warranty and then they wouldn’t speak to me anymore.

    • +1

I'm guessing most laptop brands would be similar in terms of crappy support except perhaps Apple?

  • -1

Hard to recommend this when the new MacBook Air costs slightly less.

    • +3

      at slightly less

      At comparable specs?

      • No, better specs.

        • +2

          Care to elaborate?

          • @ShouldIBuyIt: Similar RAM/SSD on the new Air with education pricing is $2500. Fanboys live in a world of delusion.

            • +1

@Aureus: Oh, slightly less before a $1k discount which will never happen with Apple… Right

    • The new MacBook isn't even in stock. It's at least a 3 week wait.

  • +3

    shame non-touch screen

  • +1

Has been this price for a bit, been watching it. Ended up with a refurb in basically perfect condition instead for $1300.

They allow you to purchase warranty add ons too once you have it

Great machine, battery life is amazing.

    • how long battery life?

      • Haven’t tested fully but I never find myself needing to rush to plug it in, it easily lasts the full day even under pretty heavy loads.

The CPU is very low TDP compared to the 155H I had

  • +2

Non Touch Screen is a no for me.

  • Which dock can do power on for this laptop?
I can't find a definitive answer and would be annoying if I had to open up the laptop everytime

    • A Lenovo dock would suit. I used to own this model and used it with T14s and X1 models for your exact use case

      • I just asked lenovo.
For the yogi slim 10th gens only their thunderbolt 4 dock has the power on functionality.
The older ones don't. And power button emulation is propriety so no 3rd party too I guess.

Quite expensive just to power on, from a functionality pov.

        • I mean, do they really know their stuff? Or were they trying to up sell the more expensive dock? Wouldn't be the first time a customer service has no idea.

For $50 (eBay listing) worth a try, imo

    • The power button is actually on the right side of the notebook, people occasionally hit it by accident while moving it or plugging in usb devices.
No need to flip the lid to access the button.
Usually you have to stick with same brand between notebook and dock for the dock power button to work.

    • The laptop has a feature where it powers on when the lid is opened by default, and the power button is on the side (can be accessed while closed).

  • Is the above offer still there…I am unable to get that price now….seems to have expired :(

  • Any other offers or recommendations for a Intel Core Ultra 7 Laptops with 32GB Ram and 1TB storage?

  • Anyone ordered this and got it delivered….I ordered on 9th March and am still waiting for it to be still shipped…. :(
