Best Steam review for this game:

    Warning: Microtransaction infested mobile app

Nirvana Game Of Life is one of thousands of nasty mobile apps infesting the "free" section of Steam, but it's not really free.

There's only a superficial "game" here. This is a basic stat juggler mobile app, you've got 4 stats to maintain and you swipe on cards to make decisions that influence those stats. If you want to make your own version it's pretty easy because there's Unity asset packs that do it all for, so no real game development seems to have taken place here.

It's just a veneer wrapped around a nasty, predatory mobile app cash shop.

The true purpose of this mobile app is to get you to hand your credit card details to the greedy mobile devs so you can buy stuff in the nasty cash shop… it's a mobile app cash harvester, and has no place in your game library.

Putting toxic mobile app monetisation aside… this is a mobile app. I didn't spend thousands on a gaming PC so I could pretend it's an iPhone, and I don't think you did either… this kind of mobile app has no place in your Steam library.

On pricing and value for gamers, this isn't really free as the game is infested with mobile app store like microtransactions. This is a consumer hostile model that we don't need to see on PC. It's deceptively priced to gouge gamers, and that's a reason in itself to avoid this.

Even though this is "free", it failed to appeal to the 120 million+ gamers on Steam. SteamDB showed the game peaked at just a dozen or so concurrent players, and now there's basically nobody playing it. Even though it's free. This is a dismal public reception, but it's easy to see why gamers rejected it.

Bearing in mind that free games don't add +1 to your game collector count, should you bother adding this to your library and downloading it?

Nope. This isn't worth downloading. While this didn't cost me any money up front, I still feel ripped off.

"While this didn't cost me any money up front, I still feel ripped off"

Unlike money, time is a commodity that cannot be regained or recuperated once spent, so wasting time on a "game" like this definitely would be a rip-off in my books!

Is it against Ozbargain rules to downvote posts for free games with Mixed or lower ratings? I want to discourage posting shovelware that wastes users' time, having to click through and check whether its worth it.

    • You can neg, issue with the product is a valid reason.

I would like to point out though that from a brief glance the negative reviews appear to be from the microtransations, which the dev is removing. Also 69% positive isn't that bad.

      • I thought 50% would have been mixed :\

        also,

        nice 😎
