Comparing a Mac OS laptop to an android tablet is apples to oranges.
The Neo uses the iPhone chip AFAIK, so it's at least tablets to tablets, that thing looks on track to be a major disruptor though for sure.

Like the snapdragon chips running full blown windows from years ago? Surface pro x back in 2019 used arm and ran x64 windows
I mean the windows implementation was completely botched and still is hamstrung, I'm sure this will be alot more polished.
But this isn't another one of those "revolutionary Apple inventions"
@krisspy: iOS is built from the same core foundation as macOS, both are built on Darwin so it will run MacOS for the basics better than many modern Windows laptops and more so Chromebooks which is likely the lunch Apple is trying to take from Google
Comparing Snapdragon ARM to Apple arm is like comparing Apples to oranges, the Windows OS is not optimised like MacOS and its app stack and 3rd party apps to run 100% ARM code, most Apple developers have made ARM versions of their apps whilst the majority of Windows app x86 and x64 apps need to be transcoded on the fly decreasing performance significantly, its not a comparison other than they are both ARM
The Neo will be good as long as you arent trying to run LLM on it or expecting it to render 3 x 8k streams on it, the A18 Pro is faster in many cases than the Apple M1 processor and its no slouch either
not when the Bosch Series 8 Front Load Washer exists, it's far better than both
Long time iPad user: iPad 1, 3, 2017 Pro and M1 Pro. My two cents as a first time owner of the S10 Ultra - it sufficiently differentiates itself to justify owning both if possible:
- The OLED screen's gorgeous for movies and content consumption
- The size is a bit unwieldly but I find myself reaching for the S10 Ultra for note taking, emails, calendar management (work related tasks) just because of the screen real estate.
- Unfortunately the typing experience is not very well optimised (I don't use Apple's ipad keyboards so can't really compare) but the cursor skips around different fields on webpages, email or AI tools. When I use PC keyboard shortcuts (such as Ctrl + right arrow to skip words or Shift + Enter), it results in prompts being entered prematurely, letters being inserted into the wrong part of the paragraph or field etc. which is pretty annoying.
- Upgradeable storage using standard MicroSD cards is a big plus.
- No Dolby Vision and streaming apps such as Disney+ only display in HD with no HDR unfortunately… Netflix displays in HD and HDR10. If someone knows of a way to get HDR working with Disney+ on the S10 Ultra or android, please let me know :(
