Half price the coming Wednesday at Woolworths as per the catalogue.

Equal low since June last year.

Tegel Take Outs Kaarage Chicken 360g
Tegel Take Outs Buttermilk Chicken Tenders 400g
Tegel Take Outs Korean Style Chicken 400g

Tried the Buttermilk and Korean ones previously, buttermilk has more mild of a taste compared to the popular Tegel's Louisiana Style but not bad. Korean style was pretty good, bit of sweetness to it.

Macros and chicken % are all pretty similar. If you're not worried about the macros or chicken % and want the cheapest tenders, think Aldi might be your best bet.

Comes to $15/kg. Costco has an identical to the Louisiana Style for $15.99/kg or $13.59/kg through DoorDash giftcards if a Louisiana style is more your thing.

This is a good deal..that said flavour wise nashville is by far the best if you can handle a tiny bit of heat / massage the heat with creamy or sweeter sauces.

Louisianas and the others (half of) texture / crumbing etc just feels worse. Good, but not great.
The half off ones are also inferior in terms of chicken content and cut to the tendies, which go for 8.40/500g on 40% off weeks which are not uncommon at colesworth.

Man I miss the Take Outs chicken.

I moved to a town without a woolies. And the coles here only has a single item from their selection, which is never on half price sale :(

You could ask them to get other types in. Doubt you could ask and receive 50% off.

Does it have an Aldi? The chicken burgers there have a higher % of chicken and hit the spot.

      • No aldi.
        Coles and foodworks.
Foodworks is a fair bit more expensive and smaller than coles.

Same. They were as tasty as kfc

      • Yeah, really loved them.
Way cheaper and I enjoyed them just as much.

Where’s the Tegel 1kg pack that cost only $14 a few months ago? Miss it so much.

Those have bones, these do not.

Yeah that's what I want to know too. I'm assuming they're discontinued, coles woollies gone.

    • Yeah much preferred those 1kg deals to the new 500gm deals

How does the karaage compare to ummm….Karaage?

    • It's "adequate".
It would probably be pretty good in a deep fryer, but the time I heated in the oven was ok.

  • I thought woolies sales finished on tuesday? as the new sales start on wednesday. Or is this one actually finishing today?

    • Tomorrow, Tuesday, 17/3.
So you have another 24 hrs plus 6 hours.

    • Yeah ends Tuesday, I've just reported it.

  • frozen karage chicken sounds like a game changer. too bad oos rn :\

It's my favourite out of the 3, goes great with pepper mayo. Can get a raincheck if OOS.

  • It’s pretty good in an air fryer

  • The Louisiana one at Costco was sooooo salty. I couldn’t stand that saltiness
