EVERYDAY10WF

Saw this deal pop up on Facebook, decent churned deal on Bupa for a limited time:

Join Bupa directly on eligible combined hospital and extras cover by 1 April 2026 and get up to 10 weeks free (6 weeks applied after 28 days), plus up to $850 Everyday Rewards dollars* (that's up to 170,000 Everyday Rewards points)

a) 10 weeks free, with the value of your free weeks based on your level of cover when you make a payment. How it works:
In most cases, your 6 weeks free will be applied 28 days after you join, extending the date you’re “paid to”. The remaining 4 weeks are applied once you’ve held eligible cover for 13 months, extending the date that billing cycle is “paid to”.

All Eligible Customers will collect Up to 170,000 Everyday Rewards points (equal up to $850 Everyday Rewards dollars) which will appear in their Everyday Rewards Account within 30 days of all eligibility criteria being met. The number of Everyday Rewards points you are entitled to is dependent on the value of your first year’s premiums for the Eligible Bupa Health Insurance Policy you hold at the time of meeting all eligibility criteria and paying 60 days of premiums by direct debit (60 days does not include any free cover periods).

First Year Premium range (AUD) Everyday Rewards points Equivalent Everyday Rewards dollars

  • Looks like the saw the current HCF/Flybuys deal and decided to better it slightly.

If you decide to pay the yearly premium to lock in the price before the hike on 1st April - watch out for this T&C:

New Bupa members only. 10 weeks free applied over 2 years (3 years for annual payers). Everyday Rewards dollars varies according to level of cover selected

  • You are an Eligible Customer if you:

have not held domestic Bupa health insurance within the last 12 months of your join date

    • Too bad for this condition, left them in August last year so not eligible yet.

  • I am currently still with legacy Medibank policy which if I move to another policy or provider, I am not even better off. It becomes not worth the money to have private insurance as with Medibank, they only have a handful of physio, chiro, remedial massage that are their preferred provider. The gap becoming larger as the provider increased the fee tremendously but the limit is the same.
I compared with HBF, they have much more preferred providers though I can only get back up to 70% compared to 90%. Medibank premium is slightly higher. Just paid $8k for next year premium due only 16% rebate from govt.

They kept changing their inclusion in the policy, making it hard for us to compare. Anybody on same boat ?

    • Same here, legacy bupa policy and all the new plans are lower value and also the lifetime limits accrued over the years doesn’t make it worthwhile to move

    • I’m with HCF, pretty much the same situation. Spent a few hours on Sunday trying to compare (using finder, comparethemarket, cannstar, ausgovt), and every quite i got for a comparable cover was higher than what i had, with lesser or more confusing extras.
In the end i decided my life was worth more than the time wasted or the bonus points/cashback/giftcard i would get for switching.

I wish the govt would legislate a “no churn bonus” across healthcare, energy, internet. Rather than encouraging people to churn, encourage people to stay and reduce premiums accordingly.

      • I wish the govt would legislate a “no churn bonus”

You are getting the requested “no churn bonus” by paying more.

In the end i decided my life was worth more than the time wasted or the bonus points/cashback/giftcard i would get for switching

As a regular churner, I never use these aggregator offers (Finder, Compare the Market etc) as, in my opinion, they are more trouble than they are worth.

It takes 5 minutes to churn to a 'pay 1 month, get 6 weeks free' offer directly with the health insurer. If saving approximately 58% per annum isn't worth it for you, then so be it.

  • So this doesn't include the 2&6 months waiting periods waiver that comes with Bupa's own 10 weeks free offer right?

    • As per the link "We’ll also waive the 2 & 6 month waiting periods on extras.*"

      • Just saw that and was trying to edit my comment but your reply locked it lol. It wasn't included in the previous 150k offer so this is good.

  • Does anyone know if a partner can get the points if a couple’s policy was under my name less than 12 months ago?

  • Would this stack with ShopBack?

    • It tracked for me, but not sure if it will get approved

      • "Not available with other Bupa offers". But they didn't specifically mention using codes. No harm in trying since it's not like it'll invalidate OP's offer.

      • What's the ShopBack deal for this? Is it the CTM one because I can't find anywhere to enter the promo code.

        • I was able to apply the promo code when signing up Bupa through ShopBack. It was the Bupa deal not CTM.

  • Does anyone know if there is any confirmation on signup that the code was applied correctly?

    • No waiting periods on all of the 2-6 months stuff. Or just open up the online chat and ask them.

  • last day for this one — 170k everyday rewards is about $850 at woolies which is crazy. but bupa went up 4.8% today so do the maths on whether the bonus just covers the increase. code EVERYDAY10WF at signup

  • I was going to join but realised that even if you have been to hospital once this year and paid the excess, you still have to pay another excess if you switch funds even if it is within the same jan-dec period.

    • Big whoop. You would still save more by regularly churning.

Perhaps the only reason I'd stay in such circumstances is if you had surgery booked in and it was imminent.

      • Are there any negatives by churning frequently?

Can they reject a transfer from one fund to another?

Can we get the 6 weeks free unlimited times (if a funder of 6 weeks free) as long as we are coming from a different fund?

        • Are there any negatives by churning frequently?

You'll need to do some research of your own.

The key 'negative' is the search cost (your time). Once you get used to it, the search can be completed very quickly.

You also need to keep a record of your transfer certificates to provide to your new fund.

If you have some time, take a look at some of my recent posts.

Can they reject a transfer from one fund to another?

No. See See The right to change.

Can we get the 6 weeks free unlimited times (if a funder of 6 weeks free) as long as we are coming from a different fund?

Yes. The legislated annual discount limit of 12% applies to the fund, not to the policyholder (or 'member' as the funds like to say).
