    Wish it was steel

OK, I'm wishing. Now what? Is it getting heavier?

What is the cooking surface? Its so annoying that they don't say. I know its because buyers are uneducated and scared of technical terms, but "PFOA-free" does not tell us much.

      • Means nonstick in this context. And theyre all bad for the environment and your health if ingested

        • +4

          a) lots of things are non-stick - PTFE, sol-gel, …
          b) no they are not, and its that sort of irrational fear and social-media driven mis-information that is the reason they don't tell us.

          • @bargaino: thats true, but typically these coatings are good for moderate heat. i wouldn't recommend for boiling soup, i would use anodized or just steel.

@bargaino: Oh in that case eat to your hearts content i wont stop you

Saw a Haidilao branded hot pot gift set, pot & ingredients at a Tong Li (Asian supermarket) for $30. Looked like steel.

      • I saw one in my local Asian store and bought one. So going home with 2 anko hotpot and one haidilao branded lol.

      • Yeah I saw this at a new Asian grocery at chatswood - the pan seemed to have quite a thin base though?

Please let us know if it's any good 😊

    • Now that would be a real steal steel deal.

There's something horrible going on in your hotpot if you need non stick coating…

This pot allows you to cook 2 different soups at a time.

    How?

    • -4

It has a weird divider in the middle. Maybe the opposite of a feature.

      • +10

No, it’s so you can cook spicy and non spicy

        • -4

What if you want 87% spicy and only 13% non spicy?

          • +12

@jv: you put 87% of spicy soup in one side, and 13% non-spicy soup into the other

  • +5

mmm love the taste of peeling coating in my hotpot

  • i believe it is for the Japanese Shabu-shabu / Chinese hot pot when you have different bases eg spicy/non-spicy

  • Decent price and would go well with the Anko portable induction cooktop for DIY malatang.

The lid alone is worth $10. Unfortunately, there’s no stock anywhere near me.

same price from Target if kmart out of stock

    • Thanks! Got one from my local Target

here's an idea: Use one side for hot pot soup and another for bbq (butter + marinated meat/seafood/vegetables). Put it on a portable gas/induction/electric stove on the table and crack open some beers.

  • shows good availability on product page but once added to cart shows not available for delivery and not available for C&C, switched to target and was able to order for delivery for free under onepass

    • weird, when I go on target it says i can do onepass click and collect but delivery is 9$? I'm so lost right now

      • Same here, delivery shows $9 even though I have OnePass. I just selected Click & Collect instead.

    Non stick coating - yuck.

  • There are like 20 of them at Top Ryde Kmart if anyone interested

    • It says $25 on shelf but $10 at price check

  • is winter really coming though?

  • There were heaps at Macquarie yesterday when I bought mine. Clearance tag hadn't been put up yet but scanned at $10.
