      please explain

      • +4

Any political post always creates a firestorm of comments and debate among the ozb user base.

Why? People like posting stuff online even though it never changes anything. They haven't realised that politics is just another lever used to control both sides of the ideological spectrum, so that the status quo remains.

        • +68

I think you've missed the reference there mate

One Nation -> Pauline Hanson -> "Please Explain"

        • -5

People like posting stuff online even though it never changes anything.

          Politics reflects a person's belief.
Beliefs are not easily or usually changed, … even when the person can see different information,
ie. if you show something new or a 'truth'…a demoralized person will still reject it.

So, this is what you will continue to see,…repeat behaviour,..
          or repeat posts.

          • +6

@whyisave: People change. I would never vote for a crackpot single-issue politician, but I'll be voting One Nation from now on.

            • +1

              @SlickMick:

              People change

              Saying this…

              I would never vote

…means, this statement will change one day too.

              • +1

@whyisave: Whoops I didn't word that correctly. I think people will be wanting thier upvotes back.

I meant to say that I had always said (past tense) that I would never vote One Nation, but either I've changed or she has, because she's now become our best option IMO.

                • +2

                  @SlickMick:

she's now become our best option IMO

I think she's being used to soak up the sentiments of the disgruntled, who starting to irritate the 'establishment' and this publicity seems rather inorganic to me, but like a TV series, she's the new character written into the plot, as the next 'Pied Piper', for the people to gravitate around and follow.

If you look at the last 30-40 years of elections in AU, everyone has had that optimistic feeling of "it's the best option for now" at any point,… yet look at what the country has lost over the years, in spite of voting for what you thought reflected your beliefs.

All the decades of voter optimism, has amounted to this current situation now.

If you think of the people who you vote for, as your middle-layer managers, then you will realise, that these middle-layer managers will still be beholden to the un-elected higher-layer managers and unelected 'CEOs', who sometimes will even have kompromat on these middle-layer managers.

        • People like posting stuff online even though it never changes anything.

If you look at the latest polling, quite clearly things have changed… How do you think that change happened?

      This ia a political statement.

      • -1

        It's an anti-political statement 😄

        • +2

No it isn’t. Trying to “keep politics out of” somewhere is in itself a political stance.

        • +4

Expressing any sort of opinion on politics is political

        • -8

Lefties galore on here, truly sad. Keep voting for the same people ruining the country, highly intelligent move lemmings.

Google "10 most common male names in Queensland since 1975"

            @SuperHanz: What direction is that?

          • +3

@SuperHanz: Both biblical names, so what's your point?

Do you think migration only occurs under left wing governments?

            • +1

@Big L: Mohammed has his own ideology and doesn't want to integrate. Many more Bondi incidents to come.

              • +11

@SuperHanz: Do you mean the Australian that targeted women and security at Bondi, and the public were defended by migrant security and visa workers?

Pauline said that about Asians. Remember the invasion that never happened?

It must be miserable being scared of things that never happen.

              • @SuperHanz: source for data on integration of different migrant groups to Australia?

            • @Big L: The name “Muhammad” (or “Mohammed”) does not appear anywhere in the Jewish or Christian Bibles in the original Hebrew and Greek texts. So not a biblical name.

          • +2

@SuperHanz: Womp womp. Hanz is scared of brown people.

            • @Dogstar: People like Coldplay and voted for the Nazis. You can't trust people Jez

I want a sticker “ We Say Yes to One Nation” 😁

      • +18

A Summernats sticker will have the same effect.

      • +6

I want to start and organisation like Get Up but for One Nation - its going to be called Get Out.

      • +17

They're available, but not for free because they're grifters

        • +2

The difference between something you have to give away and something you can charge for speaks volumes.

        • +1

but not for free because they're grifters

Logic fail. If they were grifter then by definition they would expect something for free, you know just the average like GetUp supporter….

      • +4

I have two friends, doctors working in Melbourne hospitals, both going to vote one nation in the next election.

        Times are a changing.

        • -6

There are stupid doctors. You found two of them!

          • -2

@xrayed giraffe: Labelling someone stupid because they chose to use their brain to think makes you stupid.
Doctors are smart and can use their mental faculties to rationalize.
Do you not see the rot around you? This once great country is going to shit.
Australia needs more Trump like policies and One Nation.

            • @draaagon: Policies like what? Xenophobia, racism, bigotry, treating taxpayer resources as your own to pursue unsuccessful personal vendettas, killing citizens, murdering innocent Iranian schoolgirls, committing war crimes, ignoring the constitution and laws, ignoring science, ignoring medical expertise, making lying a pre-requisite for employment, inciting insurrection, pardoning criminal supporters - for a price in some cases, using the presidency to extract billions of dollars for yourself and your family, promotion of kleptocracy/crony capitalism/sexism/ignorance?

The rot is in your "thinking" if you believe that Hanson has solutions to any issue this country faces. We (all?) know Australia has environmental, economic and social problems but if you can show me how ignorance, corruption, warmongering, political stunts and creating social division and hatred will solve them I'm all ears.

Personally I have nothing against knuckle-draaagers - they make it obvious why we need to avoid becoming like the USFA - but I do take offence at generalised waffle on anonymous forums.

Here's your chance to educate us all. Are you up for it?

        • +4

I went to the moon once.

        • -1

          Yes I’ll borrow one, thanks.

          (Does a thing)

          Here. Thanks again.

          • @YoursTruly: Actually tissues are now part of our subcription based model.

            • @Elyxar: Doh! I know.

              Hence the borrow/ return.

Nice that you’re doing some obvious memory/ digging/ research.

              • @YoursTruly: Sorry to disappoint but I've only ever gone through 1 ozbargainer's comments and it wasn't you :(

                • +2

@Elyxar: No disappointment here - sounds like I’ve managed to stay memorable to you without the digging.

      • To what end? The mods are in on it.

    • -2

      are you new here

    • +2

I'm sure that everyone that wants this sticker has a means beyond ozbargain to source one.
This is absolutely shitting up the catalogue.
Free stickers shouldn't excite adults, either way

Aaah the freedom of speech lovers, once again hating free speech

        • -1

Since when is Ozbargain a free speech platform? It's meant to be a deal or bargain platform.

      • +1

        Typical snowflake

    • lol but you couldn't move on, you had to come in and participate.

oh, which reminds me, I gotta go. I can't do 7 pages of this.

    • But it’s free!

  • +105

I come here for bargains. Political propaganda is always free.
    Not a deal.

    • +15

The propoganda itself is usually free, but you often still need to pay for shipping and handling.

    • +9

Political propaganda is never free. It's just that we never know how much or even how we're paying for it

    • +2

      It's free stickers.

    • +13

When something is free, you are the product.

    • +3

free entertainment is still a deal for me. Scrolling through comments for 20 mins straight, expenditure: $0. Go to cinema to be entertained for approx 120 mins, expenditure: at least $15. Sounds like a deal to me.
