    There are so many suppliers that would be cheaper. Just google & you will find online pricing below this for the same. Not to mention actually contacting suppliers that come out & then negotiating an even better price again in person. What is being posted is not a deal, which I am clearly pointing out. My comment can be neg'd as much as people like but it it the truth & we this site is here for people to get deals.
    
    Also, I asked my installer if I could pass on their details & he said he may not have the capacity to install before May & does not want to disappoint anybody. He also didn't want heaps of enquiries that took his time for not actual orders.

  I second that. I got a quote from solar power nation and then got arise to match it. 42kw battery, 10kw inverter and 6.6kw additional solis panels. $8800 with DC coupling, bollard, fire alarm and insulation sheet. Even got $400 referral bonus.

Anyone have a rough idea of how much a system like this might cost in a years time (in Vic)? With the rebate dropping off in the middle of the year, but also possibly batteries getting cheaper.

  Very difficult to say. The equivalent government rebate will reduce by about half. But then the cost of batteries will go down. I would estimate maybe it’ll be 50pc most exercise at that size in 12 months ( ie a few grand more).

    We own a rental which we will move into at the end of the year when the lease is up. Tossing up getting the battery installed now while the tenants are there, or waiting until we move in. Don’t want to cause hassle for the tenants.

        @mcgrathkerr: The tenants aren’t leaving on their own accord and don’t yet know their lease wont be renewed (we will let them know with 6 months notice). Nothing to do with them - we just want to move in ourselves, which is a crappy situation to put the tenants into. Thats why I hesitate to cause andditional inconvenience to them.
        
        On the tax side - I don’t think adding a battery is claimable at all as it’s an improvement not maintenance. I could be wrong - worth a google.

how do these systems work ? I dont have solar due to neighbours tree position

Do they allow things likes blocking grid usage (run property off grid) during peak tarriff hours like 7pm - midnight , and be set to charge during cheap / free tarriff hours?

So I'm paying $9300 for CQ6 48kwh + 15kw inverter + 2 circuit back up + DC coupled + 25m cable. Located in Brisbane.

Appreciate it's probably not the cheapest, but I've called about 10 local suppliers, half of either too busy or don't stock CQ6, and the other half were all similarly priced around $8k to $11k for the above. Was going for a reputable $11k supplier but then a neighbour recommended his Chinese supplier, got in touch and got a deal done.

In saying that, I haven't seen many deals on CQ6, most are on EQ4800 which can be had for as little as $5500 AC coupled with ASB (yes I checked them too but they don't stock CQ6).

  Since first contact on 30th March and paying the deposit on 8th April, the whole process has been a nightmare.
  
  If the stock and install was unobtainable, it should have been communicated before providing quotes and taking deposits.
  
  Not only the process has been stressful and wasting my time, I have also lost the chance to secure an install with someone else who could've gotten the job done! Let alone having $1k stuck right now, who's paying for the difference when the rebates tick over?

    This has been my experience as well.
    
    They assured me that there were no stock issues when I contacted them, so I turned down a different quote and chose to go with Amazon Energy. If they had been honest about the potential stock issue, I would have a battery right now.
