The ones actually in stock don’t look like they’ll be blocking much light.

There were a bunch in stock for 9.95 when I bought some yesterday, and they've been like that for weeks lol. I always thought Ozbargain was always first when it came to deals. reminds me of when I saw the same refurbished m3 MacBook Air (for $949) increase to $1089 AND get posted as a deal the next day.

        And yet you've posted 0 deals….

      • I always thought Ozbargain was always first when it came to deals

It relies on the OzBargain community sharing the deals they find.

    • I keep a pair of Category 2 sunnies in the car - useful for overcast or lower light days / early evening when there is still a bit of glare.
Yellow or light brown lenses can enhance low light detail too.

These pieces look better than luxury

Looks more like reading glasses versus actual sunglasses. There is barely any tint.

i was after a new belt but the belt doesn't look good lol - anyhow its all sold out…

plus sunglasses all sold out now too.. lol

only available in store now .. sorry deal still active

  • Seems borderline reckless to call these sunglasses.
    Are they not just glasses?

    • There was a bunch in stock yesterday, the ones i bought for 9.95 were so tinted you can't even see your eyes! perfect for sleeping on the bus.

    Thanks OP - Good Find!

I got the Boston Sports Sunglasses | Category 3 (General Purpose): Darker tint, highly recommended for bright, sunny conditions (Australian, NZ standard).

i already bought the glasses in first link, about to go sleep and saw your link now i've got 2 of these glasses to pick up wtf lol

  • Buy polarized glasses unless you really, really hate your eyes.

Good shoes and polarized glasses are the two fashion items I refuse to cheap out completely on.

Polarisation doesn’t protect your eyes more, it’s more of a comfort thing to reduce glare. I prefer it as well but wouldn’t agree that’s it’s crucial, for some people it might be unnecessary and depends on where you’re using them etc.

      • True, but reduced glare results in reduced eye strain, so I'd still argue they're better for your eyes overall. I also think they're safer for driving, etc.

Also, polarised glasses generally will meet higher UV standards, unlike these junk glasses.

As most people have already pointed out, the sunglasses are not true sunglasses, more like fashion glasses masquerading as sunglasses.

They're not polarised and the tint itself is not terribly strong.

They also do not wrap around and are almost completely straight, so they wouldn't protect eyes very well even if the above points were addressed.

You can buy wrap around polarised sunglasses for around the same price on AliExpress, they just take several weeks to get here.

I will offer a counterpoint here, but I have a pair of light-tinted glasses from Uniqlo, and I love them. The pair I have block 99% of UV and because they have very little tint, I forget I am wearing them. I used to buy only polarised glasses, and I like them for reducing glare but I find I'd take them off too much because of how dark they were and forget to put them back on once the sun was out again.
UV is where the damage happens so as long as you get the ones that block the uv you are sweet.
I do get a lot of friends asking me if I have subscription glasses now and I have to explain they are just light-tinted sunglasses.

Hey I’ve just joined AHM health insurance extras. Some policies cover up to $50 per purchase on cancer council UV items which include sunscreen hats and sunglasses. Just a heads up.
