Good to know that all games will be broadcast free but thinking about the chance of listening to Martin Tyler’s commentary makes me cringe.
Still recovering from PTSD from his game commentaries in last World Cup. He has the ability to make every exciting game like a dose of sleeping pill. He’s a godsend for insomniacs.
I think Tyler is one of the best, akin to Phil Ligget in cycling. But he's no Less Murray.
I appreciate Tyler’s crisp English accent and to me, watching football would feel like something is missing when there’s no English accent commentaries. He was OK maybe like 25 years ago but just not in the last 10 years or so with his slow unenthusiastic, monotone which makes every goal and near goal lacks excitement.
I turned the sound off and played other music when I was watching the World Cup matches he did commentaries on to avoid falling asleep 10-20 mins into the match.
