These are very nice shoes to run in. I have these and a the novablast 5 and enjoy running in these way more then the NB5 even at the slower easy runs.

    • I was also looking at the NB. The EVO has some pretty consistent reviews so took a punt. Price point made the decision a little easier

  • Good price, but not an all-time low. Download the adidas app and keep an eye on their sale + 40% off; these were sold for $122.4. However, 144 is not that far off, good value for a pair of shoes that is on par, if not, better than other $200 shoes

But the thing is most of the time you don't get the size or the colour you want when these are on sale on the official website on that price. I think this should be mentioned also.

  • I buy a lot of running shoes, and I love these Evo SL

  • very fun training shoes.

  • Not a bad price at all for a great shoe

As a side question any runners out there with a larger foot size 13 bought any similar shoes from Chinese brands?

These were recently on sale via the Adidas outlet for a similar price. After 500km with my current pair, I don't think I'll buy another.

Ive found these are less stable than I'd prefer. Plus the firmer feel is starting to irk me vs my other recent shoes (NB5, Rebel V5).

Great pop though for speed sessions!!

    • NB Rebel v5 is just too narrow for my liking. R5 is not for someone with wide feet.

      • should've mentioned I have it in the wide version, I have feet like flippers - fits perfect

What's with all these amateur reseller shops lately? Too many off them.

  • Question; How are these for an everyday shoe? I currently wear the Ultraboost. How are these compared to them?

    • +1

They are not good IMO. They are inherently unstable due to the high stack and rocker midsole geometry. You will tire your ankles if worn casually for longer periods. Even though Adidas market these heavily as a lifestyle shoe they should be purchased with the intention of running.

Stick to UB if you want casual lifestyle comfort. UB is up there at the top in terms of casual comfort - my favourite being UB 1.0. UB 5.0 is more running focused and I found them less comfort oriented compared to 1.0.

These are pretty unstable for those with stability needs..

    • yeah this is not a stability shoe. For Adidas line look for Supernova series

  • Bought my first pair for $160 just over a month ago. After ~120km of running with these shoes, I truly swear by it. Having switched from an old ASICS Gel Kayano to these, I've broken so many PBs consistently that it makes sense to buy a 2nd pair once I've worn through my current pair.

  • I got a pair of these in BF sales and just switched over running in them. Love them, doing my speedwork in them (replacing a pair of Puma Deviate Nitro 2). Only minor gripe is the tongue isn’t stitched in so can move.
Will definitely get another pair later in the year.

I followed advice I found on reddit to fix the non gusseted tongue sliding issue. If you relace and pass a 3rd loop of laces through the tongue stay it helps keep the tongue from sliding down or to the sides.

The latest version of Evo SL (woven), ATR and Exo all have gusseted tongues now as well a little bit longer length tongue - still pretty short.

      • Nice tip. 👍

  • Limited sizes on the colourways I checked, mostly Men's US 11-13, FYI

  • Fugly looking shoes
