If you were interested for the Epson EF-21W Laser Full HD Projector $699 deal but put off by the lack of digital zoom, here's another option for an extra $50 that does have it! Plus looks like inbuilt sound may be a lot better too. Also says 700 lumens, but if similar laser tech probably the same?

EDIT: This model is not Laser (sorry!)

Most likely a newer model that can be ordered from Amazon UK.

  • Already says RGB LED. Not laser. Completely different yechnology. LED mich dimmer, hence only 700 ANSI lumen. You'll struggle with bigger screens or rooms with significant ambient light.

    • Ahh you're correct, that's what I missed

      • I have the Epson EF-21W and another LG LED DLP projector with the same lumen rating (1000)..
LED might have a tad better lifetime than laser ones.

EF21 has a bit of digital zoom. Most projectors do. But you are loosing resolution there.

Projector companies almost never under report their lumens. So if they say 700, this particular model wouldn't get as bright as the other one.

I personally wouldn't pay this much for this.
Might as well get that LG 4k one with 500 or 600 lm or find a 1000lm model.

  • I would never recommend digital zoom. Perfect placement is worth the extra holes in the ceiling

  • thank you ultraman
