  • $350.. surely this is getting out of hand

      But but but, APPLE!

The pros have always been this price though - when the first edition ones came out in 2019 they were $350-400 as well. For something that some people use every day for very extended periods its not that outrageous. Ive had my airpods pro 1's for 6 years now and have well and truly got my moneys worth. They are finally starting to crackle though so might be time for an upgrade

I have been using mine for a long time too, however the crackling in ANC and Transparency only affects my left pod and it’s intermittent. I remember a recall for some units due to a similar mic issue, I wonder what the cause could be..

        • I’ve had mine replaced twice for this so worth going into an Apple Store to ask about it if you’re near one.

          • @Gregors510: Damn they didn’t replace mine when I told about the crackle issue. They said it’s been more than 3 years old can’t do anything about it!! Damn Apple!!

@sanT17: Tell them that’s not how consumer law works. That said, my first pair failed not that far in - so I think that’s where it started the counter.

Why do you feel it's getting out of hand?

  • I tried to price match at my local officeworks store but they said they don’t match with Costco, Amazon or online stores like dicksmith or Kogan. I felt like I was given the run around, wasting my time while the sales guy just kept blocking any price matches I found. Maybe he was just a stone wall. Do you have any tips? Did you use office works online chat?

I reckon most people are fine with price matching Amazon AU since it’s an authorised Apple reseller. Maybe you could ask for the manager and ask them of why not price matching Amazon AU?

      • Thanks, I think I just got the wrong dude, seemed to be on a power trip or something. I should goto manager next time. I think I will avoid that store and try a different store.

I was told the same about a different product a few months back.

Costco is membership based so they generally wont price match it. Dick smith and Kogan are the same company and usually stock grey market stock so they wont price match. Amazon is an authorized apple reseller with Australia stock so they will price match. I price matched these yesterday in store with no issues. They only wont price match amazon if its a marketplace listing

      • Thanks for that detail on price matching. It will help with others understanding expectations on what’s possible with office works price matching.

  • JB hi-fi is selling these for $380, price match Amazon and pay using TCN card for further discount.

Math isn’t my cup of tea, but that probably makes it $333
