Settled on these after trying every headphone 2k and under in all the major stores with testing available.
I know that Sennheisers in this price range are usually the meta, but I found them a bit pesky and these did it for me. Recommend if you have a big head and other headphones feel tight.
I can also recommend peace gui eq. I use a custom curve that's a mix between the oratory recommendation and the sonarworks curve.
The only downside is the headband padding needs to be thicker/wider for longer sessions so I plan to get extra pads.

This uses a driver implementation and iteration along the same line as the Sennheiser HD 560S and HD 620S. It's a professional grade crafting and tuning of a Sennheiser product.
TIL Neumann are owned by Sennheiser!
My second choice was the HD660S2, but the clamp force was also trying to kill me.
A reminder to include an expiry date in your deal posts whenever possible. In this instance, it is clearly displayed between the product star rating and the product info in a large red font.
Great headphones, only very slight criticisms I've heard are perhaps not quite as comfortable for long periods as some, and the sound does alter a bit more than average when adjusting their position but apart from that hard to beat at this price.
