When I enquired with MSI about MSI Care

"While Care Plus is typically offered by retailers at the point of sale, we can provide an extended warranty directly through us—provided it is purchased within 30 days of your original transaction.

Since your device includes a standard 1-year warranty, you have the option to add either 1 or 2 additional years of coverage for AUD 198.00 (inc. GST) per year"

Reviews aren't too bad..

NB this has the better 2560x1600 screen, not the crappy 1920x1200..

the 32gb, 2tb ssd version is available here for $3999 ($600 more)

if you trust umart,

the Ultra 7 - with a RT5070ti (12gb) with 32gb ram and 1tb SSD is here for $2999

The Ultra 9 - with the RTX5090 (24gb) with 16gb ram and 1 tb ssd is here for $4899

Personally I think the
275HX with the RT5080 (16gb GPU ram) and 16gb ram is best bang for buck..
There are no other RTX5080 laptops in this price range at the moment except for this

Particularly given, gaming with 16gb and a high VRAM cards seems fine..

$3399 and only 16GB Ram, and people carry on about Apple Ram inclusions.

Apple prices have been insane for years.. this is relatively new in the PC market.

Although i did just manage to grab a refurb Lenovo Legion 7i gen 10 from the Lenovo Outlet store for $2100 and that at least came with 32GB

You can have more RAM but it'll be more like $4000

      • +2

        As in an additional $4000

    • GPU uses shared RAM? I read headline as 16GB system + 16GB GPU.

      • Dedicated RTX 5080 has it's own VRAM so does not use shared ram.
But if you switch to the integrated GPU (for longer battery life) in the 275HX, it will use shared ram.

Yeah, you're not just conveniently ignoring the RAM price crisis right now… /s

So when it’s small ram slots for Apple it’s cheating out, if it’s everyone else, it’s a ram crisis… PMSL

    • no they carry on about both

    • Been looking at this over the weekend but the cost to go to 32GB makes it not worth it. Such a shame
