Credit Card Travel Insurance Suggestions/Experience

Hi everyone
I've got a big trip coming up to USA/Bali/east coast Australia coming from Perth. Trip is about 10 days each location linking to each other.
I have access to Westpac, anz and nab platinum cards which all have complimentary insurance when I reach the minimum spends for the trip (will do easily).

I used ai and also read through each policy to compare but wondering when it comes to claiming and even actually getting through to their live support in the event of an emergency how supportive/contactable are the complimentary travel insurances?

Does anyone have experience claiming for an event from the above cards and could give any tips?

Likely event would be claiming for a doctor's visit overseas if one of us got sick (family of 5).

    No problems at all on a large claim with Westpac card about 18 months ago.

    Just double check your health insurance. NAB recently went from unlimited to $20 million. They also just reduced this to 30 days coverage. Just a heads up to double check your own options.

    Just received an email from Nab - Travel Insurance will be removed from 15 May 2026. So if you have travel dates after 15/05 you will not be covered by Nab

      which NAB credit card do you have? my NAB Qantas Signature card still as travel insurance after May 2026

        NAB has removed insurance from some cards. Mine still has insurance but some of the conditions have changed.

        We're letting you know from 15 May 2026, there will be changes to the complimentary insurances that come with the following NAB Credit Cards:
        NAB Rewards Platinum Card
        NAB Low Fee Platinum Card
        NAB Low Rate Platinum Card
        NAB flybuys Rewards Card
        NAB Velocity Rewards Premium Card

          The email people receive notifying them of the changes tells you what card you have and what this means for your insurance.
