That’s a great price for a Japanese made SUV

There’s a world out there to explore, places to see and endless roads to discover. With the Mazda CX-5, every drive feels like the start of something new. From spontaneous weekend getaways to taking the long way home. With CX-5 it’s not just about getting from A to B - it’s about every moment in between.

2025 (1 year old) car for the same $37,990 "sale" price it is regularly advertised for when it's not 1 year old clearance stock. Note that the new CX-5 model will be released this year.

This is the last year that you can still get a good looking CX-5. The front end of the new model is simply fugly

In that case I'll take 2.

Did you know that the time is always the same in a car dealers showroom.

    It's always bullshit o'clock.

Don't think this is the car to enjoy corners on the longer mountains route

sister has the 2015, you'd be surprised. it actually loads up very nicely on corners.

        • Just googled to see reviewers agreeing on decent handling.
Good to know a bit of MX5 handling spirit is in the CX5!

@Fobsessive: yea! i was shopping for a beater car and had to do some research.

Reviews for the older Mazda 2 and 3 are really good in the driving department. Apparently, the DE Mazda 2's shifter feel is similar to that of the MX5.

      Sounds painful.

  • did they get rid of the stop start engine yet…

      Conservative Japanese, never change

      • “Conservative” is what people say when they don’t understand disciplined innovation. Japan didn’t just build cars- they set the benchmark everyone else still chases. While others keep experimenting and fixing mistakes, Japanese manufacturers quietly get it right the first time… and it shows on the road years later.

      I disabled istop on mine.

      • Doesn't it reset everytime you turn it on…I wish default was off..

        • +1

Disable it permanently at the bonnet latch. Well known procedure and there are many videos on YouTube showing how.

    • don't think it's possible due to emissions.

  • Does it come with free or discounted petrol?

    • +2

Yes. Just enough to get you to the servo across the road, as has alweys been the way. Gone are the days of getting a full tank thrown in with delivery.

    • Depending on your fuel card I think I saw you can get Free fuel between 0:00-6:00 every day /s

Bought a cx5 maxx sport for $38,000 after negotiations.

    • Is that the drive away price? If it is, that’s a great deal, nearly $6k off rrp

      • Yeah it was the driveway price with the rain shields and floor mats included, even though the salesman said he wasn’t going to include the floor mats.

        • Nice deal, please share the State and dealership if you don't mind, thanks

    • Damn that's pretty good, 43k down to 38k, please teach us your ways.

Mind if I ask, which state ?

  • I only need a Toyota level hybrid or EV (400km range) around $30k…
