For those paying in USD this is how you get the correct exchange rate in PayPal:

AliExpress trade in USD and setting overseas websites to AUD or letting PayPal do the currency conversion results may result in an inflated rate. To get the correct rate you need a card without international fees and do the following:

  • Set the website currency to USD
  • Checkout with PayPal
  • Select your card with no international fees
  • Click "See currency options"
  • Select USD to bill the card in USD instead of AUD
  • Proceed with checkout

Now you'll get the correct MasterCard or VISA exchange rate.

  • How much?

Sorry I'm on OzBargain beta and the URL field being infront of the title field with the auto generated titles is annoying.

  • Guessing the 9900X wasn't a popular SKU

They're an awkward part that's a little in no man's land.

Somebody focused on gaming will go X3D instead (7800X3D is ~the same price as this).

Somebody who needs multicore enough to justify this will either not be that budget-constrained and can thus justify getting something beefier (e.g., 7950X/9950X), or they are budget constrained and could go Intel for similar multicore performance for a bit cheaper (until this deal happened, which only now makes the two about par on price).

      • And the 7900 had a niche in that it you could clamp its power draw and it would still perform really well. I was surprised AMD didn't go down that path with the Zen 5 equivalent.

  • Seems like pretty good value for those that need the cores.

No! My order from yesterday just shipped, this would be cheaper and is local stock.

  • Thanks Clear, after TCB sign up bonus and both cash backs it should work out to be around A$300 for me. 👍

  • Damn. Good price. But without DDR5 RAM I won't be able to test the bloody thing out. Gonna have wait for RAM :(.

  • I bought this one: https://www.aliexpress.com/item/1005011785776762.html . It had an “early bird deal” for $403.12 before cashback and the PayPal discount. The price went back up after I purchased it.

The order should be legit, right?

    • Yep that's this one.

      • I hope so. It's a different 9900x listing from the one posted but by the same seller. I couldn't apply the AUSS65 coupon to it, but it was initially listed at $403 AUD with the early bird deal.

Do you know what early bird deals are? I've never seen it before.

        • Early bird are targeted discounts with a limited quantity.

  • Recently built a 9900x system with the Evatech deal… I thought about DIYing it but the 9900x was close to $700. This would have changed my mind. Oh well.

    • To make you feel better you'll be backed by AU warranty with Evatech.

      • Indeed.
And I must say the sales / support team from Evatech have been incredibly helpful and responsive with all my questions. Very impressed with their service so far.
