Been getting Kaspersky premium through these guys for a few years now, works like a charm

      • +1

Yeah, they are legit, bought KS licenses from them in the past and no issues.

    • +3

I've been using these guys for my Kaspersky AV for years and they are great. Now also doing it for family with larger packs. Used to get multi-year but now just do it 1 year at a time as the multi-year appear to no longer be available.

    • +1

also wanted to chime in and confirm that those guys are legit

  • +4

Oh thats cheap. Should I change the deal to that. So many other antivirus on sale there.

    • +4

Nah leave it be, some people would prefer to buy from official site. It's still a good discount.

  • -6

    Russian ? Nah….

    • +1

      This looks good - https://www.saveonit.com.au/product/norton-360-standard-1-de…

      Norton 360 Standard 1device 1yr $14. 3device $19
Comes with antivirus, vpn, password manager and 10gb cloud storage. Last time i used norton about 5yrs ago it wasn't bloated.

      • The one Im currently using No complaints apart from the fact that the vpn is basic, with limited global servers.

    • -4

Says someone who is more than likely typing on a China based computer

      • +2

It's actually made in Taiwan(Taiwanese brand), not China.

      • +4

Says someone who is more than likely typing on a China based computer.

And uses Google, Microsoft, Insta, whatsapp etc. and are worried about being spied on.

Yes these are private companies with no government intervention, except for the NSA.

    • +3

Do you think your apple ,andriod windoze device any better

      • Probably is the answer due to rule of law/checks and balances, but to expect any software or service anywhere to be free from government pressure or coercion is just plain stupid.

    • they're all the same really - all beholden to their own governments' ulterior motives.. fine 99% of the time, but if you're a particularly spicy individual, this just gives them another string to tug on

    • Exactly! don't buy Russian

I, a Russian myself, fled Russia 16 years ago.
Since then, Russia has become much crazier. Don't support Russia.

        • +3

          Hes Russian

      • -3

Fled from what? What has happened to you back in 2010?
I came to Australia same year and never had any issues with my motherland - going holidays every year or two. A lot of friends and family over there…
Kaspersky is my go to choice for AV since 2001.

    • -1

dude you're probably using a router/modem made from china

  • +1

The new AI enhanced version is actually rather annoying to use, the old one was out of sight like it should be where the new one is always trying to be helpful with features I've turned off only to be constantly told it can't offer optimal protection because features are disabled. It's been AI slopped.

    • That's a shame. Does it do the ai stuff locally or upload to their servers…

Ai is getting into everything :(

      • No idea, it's just PC "optimisations" like large files, invalid reg entries, unused programs, identity leaks etc. stuff that should be asked to include or exclude during install but nope

        • You probably bought the version that offers those features, i think there's a cheaper version that doesn't. I have Kaspersky Plus and it's only bothered me a few times with a popup down the bottom right which is hardly annoying, you can dismiss it with a click.

Even though i have automatic updates for Kaspersky, i find my PC's security centre advising me its database isn't up to date. I'm not sure if that's due to a windows setting, but i never had that issue with Kaspersky Internet Security.

  • -2

the best anti virus is yourself, dont waste your money

    • -2

Is the best VPN yourself too?

      • Dunno how you can get past our government filters by yourself without a vpn, but yer sure

      • How is a VPN an antivirus? You don't make sense.

        • +3

Probably because the deal you're commenting on is about Kaspersky Premium, which is a VPN and Antivirus

          • @TheFreaK: Yet your reply is about a comment on the antivirus only

            • @ShouldIBuyIt: So you're only considering less than half the product?

              • -1

@TheFreaK: Mate, you're the one who decided to jump in and argue on something totally irrelevant (and still are)
But good, you learned to bold text, I'm proud of you son. Now go learn logic

                • +2

@ShouldIBuyIt: I would continue this conversation but

It’s hard to win an argument with a smart person, but it’s damn near impossible to win an argument with a stupid person

                  • @TheFreaK: Lol mate, I totally agree, but in this instance, you're not the party in this quote that you think you are.

Here is another quote for you, to add to you bank since you can't defend your ideas without help.

Never wrestle with a pig; you'll both get dirty, and the pig likes it.

And my favorite from Mark Twain.

Never argue with stupid people, they will drag you down to their level and then beat you with experience.

    • Anti-Virus is like a virtual condom, sometimes it breaks but most of the time it will stop your computer from getting a common STD. The rare/new stuff will always get you with a nasty infection.

      • +4

How do you get an STD if you don't loiter round the scum of the Internet?

        • Ask the many millions of people who get infected each year. I'd suggest most don't loiter in Mos Eisley or the scum of the internet. Again, AV won't stop the exotic 0-day malware or fresh targeted malicious files but it's very good at stopping the top ten malware families or common strains. Just choose any of the top 5 tested AV's and buy the cheapest license possible are you're in a much better position than not having AV. To continue the analogy backups are crucial and are more like the morning after pill when you know you've messed up the night before. There are other security tools and services you should use combined with AV but that's for another thread.

          • +2

@GardenGnome: sure you can fill your computer up with bloat, ymmv

windows defender comes with windows for free and is decent enough

if you are hellbent on an antivirus there are plenty of good free ones out there

again anti virus is just bloatware if you maintain good IT habits

            • +1

@MrThing: I'd say this counts more towards EDR rather than just AV, it has a behaviour analysis, so even if LOTL / 0day used it supposed to catch it

            • @MrThing: Very true and I agree whole heartedly with everything you said but everyone makes mistakes, AV is there for when you have a brain fart. AV even Windows Defender won't stop the 0-day, APT or fresh malware but it can save your bacon when you're not careful. There are plenty of sites where you can buy legit cheap Eset, McAfee, Norton, Kaspersky, Avast, Bitdefender licenses for around $20AU. No excuse really.

            • @MrThing: I had a VPN extension installed on one of my browsers (one that i've seen recommended here in the comments). It was disabled and on my secondary browser i don't really use but turns out, it was stealing people's data. If i didn't have Kaspersky installed, i probably would never have known about it. Windows defender did sweet f all.

              • @johnnytran: I think the moral of your story is: do your own research and don’t install dodgy stuff on your computer.

The level of monitoring makes you complicit, educate yourself and be mindful of the things you are willingly accessing/providing access.

                • @topherboi: I agree, don't install dodgy stuff, but when it's an extension in the chrome store used by millions of people with positive reviews, it's not ringing any alarm bells. My fault for not removing it after i used it that one time, but small things like this can happen and it's good to have something in the background knowing it has your back.

                  • @johnnytran: There’s a good reason why most businesses restrict their managed devices, allowing only approved browser extensions to be installed.

      • +2

Hence why MrThing said the best antivirus is yourself. Don't go sleep around and click any random links, especially on FB.
Sure, get an antivirus, but don't rely on it blindly thinking you can click and open whatever and be safe.

        • +3

exactly this if you do the following i can all but guarantee you will never get malware or scammed

          • download only from trusted sources
          • don't download torrents
          • don't download pirated software
          • don't click any links within social media, emails, etc
          • treat your computer like a virgin, don't let anyone plug there devices into your computer, you have no idea what their IT hygiene is like
          • anything or anyone trying to offer you something that sounds too good to be true, almost always is, so just delete it / ignore it
          • keep your computers software and drivers up to date

ask how I know this works…….its because I've never had a computer virus nor have I been scammed

  • +4

    "linux isos" lol

  • +2

Ive been using Kaspersky over 10 years. Its saved my parents ass a few times, in clicking phishing links via emails…. So what ever controversy there is for a user experience its been good.

Cant say ive had anything more severe then that

    • +7

Those days I'd trust Russia and China more than the US. And more and more countries (especially European) come to the same realization.

      • +1

America started the majority of wars in the past century.

  • Damn - i just got NORDVPN cos i need a VPN for travelling. This would have done both

  • +2

Kaspersky used to be one of the best Anti virus software in the old days (better than Norton, Nod32 etc.)

  • -4

This is a Russian company, they pay taxes in Russia,
by buying their product you support the war against Ukraine,
not to mention that Kaspersky is a KGB agent.

    • -7

Any opinion on our Australian government supporting the genocide in Gaza through the various contracts with Israel?

      • -1

Nothing? No opinion? Just hiding behind anonymous negs? Here I'm helping you with a recent article

    • -1

your histerics are amusing to hear. This is OzBargain not a FB page in support of Ukraine.

    • +2

      All taxes fund the government.
      The government funds the military.

More people have died because of governments, than any natural disaster.

  • +5

I love that people think that this stuff is necessary in 2026. OzBargainers will happily hand over money for any old snake oil as long as it's discounted snake oil.

    • +2

There are certain websites more recently that have made VPN more… necessary.

      • Ha ha, our government is really useless. Only 4 countries in the world, US, UK, France and Australia, bloody hell.

      • +1

There are many ways to get a heavily discounted or even free reputable VPN service on its own.

        • +1

yeah, protonvpn free tier has US, Netherlands, Japan exit nodes

    • which part is unnecessary?

  • +1

Use the promo code SAVE-5 for another 5% discount

  • +3

The VPN is now actually PURE VPN with a kaspersky badge, this happened a few months ago.. i think it was surfshark vpn before that.

Kasperky operate for the world outside of russia from Switzerland and recently i think another western country. The swiss connection goes back to at least version 3.135 of the old anti virus.

So any money has been going to kaspersky switzerland for yonks

  • do i need to activate the key now or i can just keep them for some months

  • Why would you buy this for the VPN when Proton VPN is free?

  • i just find it so funny how people are upset because X is under Y yet probably use Z which has ties to X. like cmon guys, be 0 or 1.

  • +2

russian? i trust it more than the epstein regime vpn

    • Was dropping by to say the same thing. All this spying from "the commies" they supposedly assume and try to make us afraid of, is far less to worry about than what will be rampant 5 eyes surveilance going on.

      • -1

lol bullshit you trust 'the commies' over local laws and countries, 5 eyes = rule of law, proper process, corruption bodies i.e IBAC, independent courts and judges, right to a fair trial, relatively free media, free speech.

Compared to the alternative of mysteriously falling out of a window, being bIack vanned or having your organs harvested while in jail serving a sentence, I know which one I'd choose.

        • rule of law

You probably don't have much experience dealing with our various level of government and government agencies. All lazy leeches. Victoria in particular is a disgrace.

          • @ShouldIBuyIt: And that's why we have free and fair elections without violence, if one mob is trash you vote them out at the next election.

  • Any sale for BitDefender?

  • I randomly searched for condoms and this came up lol. guess its the protection that'll save us thousands

  • Is it OK to use Kaspersky?

  • Kaspersky is great ,been using for years ,easy to use and very well.priced.

  • can we stack (the saveonit version)? past experience been ok

  • Haven’t these guys been deemed high risk by the U.S.?
