    • Cheers!

      Bought a pack.

Had trouble checking out via ApplePay with multiple cards so had to create an account.

Interesting. I usually prefer to wait until whatever I'm using goes flat and pay $5 each at Woolies.

    • +5

Ebay has 4x energizer for $8 delivered

      • Unless it's officeworks or similar, I wouldn't trust energizers or other name brand batteries from eBay. Too much risk of them being fake and low powered.

        • really? the packaging looks real they even have that safety thing make it hard to take the battery out like double plastic layer

    • +2

I've had good experiences with the Toshiba branded ones from the Reject. Usage wise, they last the way they should and I feel that they're legit.

      $4 for a pack of 4

  • +1

Last time it took about a month and a half to get these

    • +3

Yeah the same. Delivery time is shocking.
Looks like nothing has changed based on below comment. Only order if you can wait a month or so.

      • +1

they are doing "drop" group buys and then shipping later

        • Perhaps, but they shouldn't be noting as Australian warehouse, Quick Shipping if it takes many weeks. Of course, not saying these will be?
@iwantabargain1 (OP). What is the delivery time on these please?

          • +3

@Borg: I will ship them out first thing Monday. Aust post took ages to deliver

            • +5

@iwantabargain1: Stop blaming Austpost. If it took a month to arrive, I would say Austpost accounted for a week, and the other 3 weeks delay was from you.

    • sorry about that last deal was in dec

  • Thanks OP ordered. Couldn't get Google Pay or Link to work but direct through website checkout was okay

    • Same but with ApplePay.

      Never heard of Link before.

They are not close to banning them. They are in everything.

All they are doing is making them more expensive and making the packaging difficult to get into.

      • they are banning the easy open packaging

cr2016 25 32s are way too common to be banned

there are factories all over china making them

      • So difficult I need a hacksaw to open. Blister Packaging is horrific to get into. These batteries don't have this..

      • -2

        They are in everything.

not really. I mean only two things I can think of that mom uses these in, airtag and car keys. and I don't have either.

      • +1

        difficult to get into

        Adult proofed

There are lots of things that children need to be kept away from

    • +7

Let's be real. 3 children have died since 2013, and regulations on packaging and securing of batteries has increased massively recently. They are far from banning them, but yes, obviously keep them inaccessible from children that might decide to swallow them…

      • +2

Just keep them in the medicine cabinet. Surely everyone with kids keeps their medicine in a place inaccessible to children already.

        • +2

And medicines are 10x easier for kids to get into than these when packaged. Like I struggle even with scissors…
But the issue now is when they're out of packaging and either not disposed of properly or in devices that don't close properly.
But risk is so minimal now, and certainly not at "They're about to be banned" territory.

      • Fair, but many more have landed in emergency departments with some having life-altering injuries to their trachea

    • +2

why you asking someone else to do your job?

      • because I can't look after their children

        • no one can , or should, you only need to look after YOURS.

    • +1

      Natural selection at work init?

      • ..so you didn't do any stupid $hit when you were younger?

    • These have been around for decades with no issues, its just current parents who are letting their kids swallow them.

  • +2

    This vs energizer vs duracell?

    • +17

      They taste the same

    • +1

      energizer

highly don't recommend. friend bought few 4 packs on discount sold by Amazon AU so genuine. literally more than half of them were dead out of packaging, couldn't even power the remote. they even checked the use by date, still few years left. they got a refund though.

      • +1

The genuine maxell are in the red and black packaging. Amazon sellers are not selling these.

        • ok thanks. not saying don't recommend maxwell btw saying don't recommend energizer.

  • +2

    Gimme CR2450

  • +4

Aliexpress has got these in a Li-ion rechargeable form factor with Chargers that work with usb c.

Would like to ask if anyone has got experience with them compared to these/energiser? As I'd like to avoid waste and I've moved completely to rechargeable ones everywhere in AA and AAA.

    • +2

I was also looking into the rechargeable LIR2032 but it has higher voltages (3.7V vs 3 from CR - may be problematic depending on the device) and 5 times less capacity which means more frequent swapping out

    • +1

Proper ML2032 and charger is annoying to get because of all of the LIR2032 spam, last time I checked.

I wouldn't recommend LIR2032 unless you know your device can tolerate 3.7V, it's been known to degrade some hardware. (Although luckily most of the hardware that takes CR2032 tends to be fairly cheap anyway)

    • +1

Aliexpress has got these in a Li-ion rechargeable form factor

Please share the link of the ones you found.

Last time I looked for rechargeable coin cells, the best ones I could find had 1/10th the capacity (mAh) of non-rechargeables. So instead of getting 1-year battery life in airtags, you get a battery life of a little over a month, and then you have to recharge

  • +3

Hi @iwantabargain1, I ordered these from your website on Feb 1, and followed up on Feb 20 asking for tracking info, and I have not received my order yet. Can you please respond. Order #4198. Thanks.

    • please email me and i will fix your issue sales@tapesplus.com.au

      • same, just emailed you for March 25th-ish order

      • +1

        thanks, they arrived last week.

Maybe its the method that you use to send them that is causing problems with failed deliveries.

The envelope arrived with a barcode stuck over my address. It looks like something that AusPost added (yellow paper with orange barcode)

I'm guessing that the previous attempt had the address come loose inside the envelope. Cutting the address section out of the tax invoice/packing slip with a stanley knife and then sticky taping it inside where the clear window is was an interesting way of doing it.

        • If that is Tapeplus's standard shipping method, it's no wonder so many orders are going missing. If Australia Post has to open and process every item then depending on how busy they are it could take weeks, and potentially months. Letters are not a priority for AP.

Here's another problem: My 20 March battery order (yet to arrive as I type this) goes to my workplace. If the address (and therefore my name) is covered up then who knows where the batteries went. They could have arrived two weeks ago and I would have no idea.

For the eBay orders I send via letter I print the address on an A4 sheet, cut it out and glue it to the outside of a cardboard envelope. I still get reports of lost or severely delayed items, but it's under 1%.

        • +1

@OP perhaps consider investing in proper address labels and use printer, or even a Dyno Address Label printer. Cutting out pieces of paper and sticky taping to envelope is just asking for trouble at all times. My last order was like that. It did take a month to arrive.

    • Same, just emailed you re a march 21st order…

  • +7
    • Yeah what is the difference between those and this ?

    • $15.48 now

    • i bought these they send you cr2032

  • +13

Dodgey seller. I order 2 x 10 packs in December and they sent me 2 x 5 packs. Would not respond to my emails. Avoid.

  • +1

FWIW, I bought button batteries directly from the TapesPlus website on 29-12-25 and they were dispatched on 31-12-25.

    • yes we send orders out asap

  • What's your best email? I had an issue with an order from December that is unresolved and no reply.

  • How do these compare with Energizer ultimate lithiums?

    • +1

The H stands for high capacity, Maxell doesn't make a regular Maxell CR2032, so they just label their CR2032 as high capacity.

It you check the data sheets, all CR2032s are around 220mAh to 240mAh, so there's nothing special about Maxell's CR2032H, other than perceived quality being made in Japan.

It's hard to compare the discharge profiles as they are testing under different conditions (temperature, resistance, time).

You have to test the batteries in the same device, operating in similar environments, under similar usage patterns to really tell the difference.

The difference is probably negligible between reputable brands, if anything, shelf age is more important, choose the fresher ones.

  • Hi do you have any CR1632?

  • +2

Would get some but it would be a challenge to keep them out my own mouth, let alone the kids.

  • these ought to keep my tamagotchi going for another month

  • no option to pay via PayPal despite displaying PayPal logo at bottom of website?

  • ApplePay failed to process with 2 different cards. Lost my confidence, I went to JustBatteries instead.

  • Thanks OP
Grabbed 2 as just ran out.

  • Ordered yesterday, dispatched today. Not bad.

    • +2

They are shipping it out Monday. The email you received is just from them marking the order as complete on their WP website.

  • +1

    Got them delivered today.

    2035 expiry

  • looking for some for my airtags so this came at a good time - however checking with my robot friend and he had this to say. note: i confirmed maxell generally dont have bitter coatings so i think these should be fine, but i just thought some people might find this interesting

Some CR2032 batteries have a ā€œbitter coatingā€ (to stop kids swallowing them).
    • These coatings can prevent proper contact in AirTags
    • If used, the AirTag might:
    • not detect the battery
    • or randomly disconnect

šŸ‘‰ Apple recommends using ones that say ā€œcompatible with AirTagā€ if they have that coating. ļæ¼

Maybe take that last bit with a whole shaker of salt

  • I purchased on the 20th and can't find an email for an invoice or saying its been dispatched and it says my email address is wrong when trying to get back into where the online invoice part it after purchasing.

  • Ordered one, thanks!

  • @iwantabargain1 mine says order on the way 21/3 but haven’t received them yet. Metro NSW. Any idea when I can expect them?

  • Received order confirmation 9am on Sat 21/3 and then at 4pm another email "finished processing your order, it's on its way".
Nothing since then and no batteries arrived yet.

I see some others have received theirs already.
@iwantabargain1 - any news or updates?

    • Wait until they post the next deal, then bring up your issue. They will tell you to email them so they can fix it for you. Until then, good luck getting any response here.

      • That sounds depressingly specific - almost like you have been through it before……
