  • My whole setup is growatt. I already had the hybrid inverter and I asked another company to add a battery and EV charger. They said support from Growatt is the worst of all brands. Sure enough, when I raised issues they don't bother to understand, and do what they can to dismiss it, saying everything is fine when it's not.

    I cannot recommend this brand.

  • Can these be installed on business premises? Guessing the same rebates don't apply?

  • Why is double storey $300 extra? You're not putting panels on the roof?

    • At a guess:

      • It takes more time to run the leads up the walls into the roof/cavity space

      • More risk associated with being higher up on the roof/harness costs

      • More time and difficulty running wires through the void under the 2nd story floor

      • Why would you need to do any of that?

        • This deal is only available to customers who already have solar. It seems reasonable that they need to get to the existing panels to install this battery and inverter. It’s only $300 anyway.

        • For them to connect the unit, which theyd likely put in your garage or a different wall than, where your switchboard is.

    • It is the cost of cable run with the assumption that the battery is installed in the garage and switchboard being on the other side.

      • How does that differ to single storey?

        • The cost of cable run, extra cables. Double storey requires double the length of single storey.

          • @nadan: Why? Are you saying panels aren't already connected to an inverter on the ground floor?

  • Weren't all the STC credits being cut from March on larger battery installs? Why are these large battery deals still around the same price as they were for Jan/Feb install dates?

    • Stc credits run until e/o April installed

  • I have a dead inverter, would I be able to get this where you replace the inverter and install the battery ?

    • Yes - but the chances of your existing installation meeting the modern codes is zero unless it's a recent install. So the installer would probably need to do a bunch of rectification.

  • Just wondering—do people actually make money from solar, or at least get their money back within 10 years?

    • it depends on where you live, how much you use and what type of plan you are on. im with Amber and in some postcodes you rarely get anything higher than 20c sell price. anything below that imo is not worth selling. so ROI may take some time but at least it will save you from getting bills if your usage is low, particularly in winter.

    • Yes. Some of our early customer has already earn back what they invest.
Typically, if you have big electric bill, your pay back time would be much quicker (2-3 years). The free power also helps a lot.
Not mentioning the demand for EVs.

  • So i have the same Growatt system, 10KW inverter + 50KW battery, been great so far! Though we are currently having an issue where daily, it seems to draw 3kw of power on average, Im currently in the process of diagnosing the issue with the installer (Puma Solar) right now.

Otherwise the system has been great, the installer has been great and forth coming (I use Puma Solar). My 6.6Kw pannels system keeps it pretty much charged up from 0-100 in about 2 days of good sun.

  • What about QLD?

    • For qld, we havent got growatt stock yet so unfortunally it is not part of this deal.
Feel free to check our fox ess, which service brisbane metro!

      • Do you do deals for Goodwe?

        • Not at this stage. It would be something in future.

  • +1 Qld… seems alot of qld interesst…

  • Do you have deals for solar + battery?

    • Sadly, solar installer is almost impossible to find at this time point, so we are not offering the deal.
