  • What brand battery does everyone use for these?

Apparently the bitter coating causes the 2032 batteries to not work as well in the AirTag.

    • +2

I have used Maxell and Energizers without issues. I avoid Duracell which has the bitter coating. Many other generic brands don’t have the bitter coating as well.

Typically if they have bitter coating, they will advertise it as such.

    • this one should works pretty well

can’t you just remove it with some isopropyl alcohol

    • +1

Just rub them with some rubbing alcohol or some vinegar and it removes that coating and you’re all good. I do this for these batteries when I put them in anything. Far better battery life. But also if you have kids, be aware the bitter taste is no longer there, so you might be trading child life for battery life.

      • sounds like a win win to me

    • $91.50 delivered from DigiDirect with $10 newsletter coupon

      • I thought DigiDirect doesn’t offer free delivery.

        • They don’t but it’s a current promotion that’s free delivery with $49 spend

    • +1

So there's no confusion got to use the price beat feature for the $94 price.

      • Looks like some officeworks stores still have some gen 1s in stock. I wonder if they will beat the good guys price beat.

    • +3

To be fair, I’d rather pay $6 more for the convenience of ordering from Amazon instead of the delays and general rigmarole that typically comes with ordering from TGG.

    • Plus $3 shipping

  • Sorry if I've missed it.
Title above says Gen 1. But the Amazon listing doesn't seem to mention which generation.
    How can we tell ?

    • Ahh - because the picture shows lower case etching ?

  • Gen1 still work? Anyone recommend it please.
