I've replaced my eight year old Ring Video Doorbell 2 that started acting up recently and for $73 it's not bad. Shame it has an in-built battery, so likely be a throwaway item in a few years time.

Subscription required to view saved videos, but functions fine without as a doorbell.

      Buy once, cry once. The Reolink is fully featured without any cloud subscriptions and will integrate well with any NVR.

      $155 recently on Amazon for the battery Reolink doorbell.

      There's a reason the Ring is cheap - it's a printer + cartridge business model.

        And they sell your data, which isn’t that bad compared to giving it directly to Palantir and the US gov, which is infinitely worse AND what they also do.
        So no, unless the hardware can be hacked to install alternative software, I am not touching a Ring camera.
