I think this is an ATL for an ATX x870 motherboard.
There is also a WIFI 7 version for slightly more:

CamelCamelCamel. If you are gaming online, isn't the $2 snakey boi wins every time for internet connection?
Yes but not every room can be wired up conveniently.
If you own the home I recommend DIY Ethernet through the walls. Google safety precautions, don't step through your roof, and it's easy. Well worth it for that sweet hardwired reliability.
But renting an apartment with concrete walls? Running cables along the floor is less neat.
Ethernet over power works well in most apartments. Luckily I don't have this issue anymore, but I still preferred having a slightly higher ping using EoP rather than WiFi instability.
Our last rental was an ancient house where the wiring was too bad for PoE.
So there are times you have no choice but to game on wifi at home, just, they are probably 1% of the cases where people do.
@GandalfTheCheap: Interesting, I've lived in dodgy places and only really had issues on different circuits with several old appliances on it. Juggling which power points you use can go a long way. Also in these scenarios, making sure you use atleast a midrange power line device makes a huge difference in overcoming interference in wiring from the 50s etc. Sadly the cheaper units ones don't handle interference very well.
I got a wifi version of a motherboard before because it also had bluetooth and the non wifi one didn't. Didn't really want to plug in something extra to get it.
Buy the GIGABYTE X870 Eagle WIFI 7. Wi-Fi 7 and the extra M.2 slot are well worth the $33.
Or just get the b850 ai top, extra x16 slot for dual GPU or adding better networking
Sir, this is Ozbargin
Buy cheap mobo, can't afford RAM 😭
Yeah that's why it's cheap. Not many people building right now.
True, even mid-range MB price drops to $100, no one can build a brand new system with RAM in it.
Whats this mid range $100 MB? Im on the hunt but lowest i can find is around $250 (gigabyte b650 eagle)
Remember that the wifi cards are all PCIe based and can be swapped out, so upgrades to Wifi 7 etc. can be done in the future. However in this case as @Kazusa has mentioned above there are other functional differences.
this for 265 when b850m force (a much, much better board) is 199 MSRP is absolutely criminal
for 248 you could even get the cheaper Asus alternative for the MSI b850mpower, the b850 AYW
those are both competing with the $1065 x870 tachyon, not anywhere close to the a620 PCB with a x870 chipset that gigabyte upsells as "high-end" x870…
P.S if wifi 7 is a factor, a Qualcomm fastconnect 7800 / ncm865 is $40 and a 15 minute install onto literally any motherboard, and is significantly more stable than the MT7927 / AMD RZ738 wifi that comes with these motherboards along with having full MLO and 6ghz support.
Are you referencing the MSI HERALD BE NCM865?
Could you post a link to that, please. Everywhere I see shows $70+
Yes, but the M.2 E-key module inside it, the MSI card is the small chip inside a big pcie wifi slot to pcie x4 adapter board.
You are paying like $30 extra for the adapter board on the MSI one.
All wifi motherboards come with a internal m.2 wifi key slot, and you can just replace that one with a ncm865 module directly.
Amazon, Aliexpress, eBay etc will all have the m.2 ncm865 module for around 40.
Any Amazon or eBay links for this? Or search term suggestions? I'm having no luck.
I don't think it's fair or even sensible to compare prices between different form factors
Funnily enough those smaller form factor boards he's highlighted use parts that should be commonplace in x870 boards of this size.
Using a Ryzen 9 and maxing out the slots on a board this size is likely going to result in throttling and overheating.
Realistically the only purpose for this board is a budget pc with the usb 4 addon
Well isn't that just great
It's because actual high-end features such as 1DPC, eCLK generator or even better memory microcode in ATX size only comes in $1000 halo tier boards (Gigabyte Tachyon, Asus Apex etc.).
At $250 I would much, much rather have a b850 micro-atx board (with $1000 x870e tier hardware) over a x870 atx board (with $150 a620 tier hardware).
It shouldn't even be a comparison, board size has no effect on speed or stability whereas these features will.
Tips on where to find fastconnect 7800 / ncm865 ? Aliexpress?
$268 for me. Got one thanks op.
Keep in mind gigabyte is super terrible at its naming schemes, the difference is far more than wifi
You get half the VRM phases, so it’d be far less future proof, with 16 phases it’d probably power a potential 24 core 10950x fine, however the wifi 6 model only has 8 phases which already gets pretty toasty with the 9950x
