    Any CCC mark?

    • -2

Aren't CCC devices required to be 100W or less?
No CCC mark on my current version, although it does have an airline safety tick mark, no idea which country that satisfies.

      • My understanding is all power banks need the CCC marking ATM to be taken onboard any Chinese airlines. This will soon be replaced by a different stamping.

      • No, the Ugreen 200W from this OzB deal (https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/948698) had the CCC marking. I believe it is the products meant to be sold in China which have the CCC mark, and a small number for export markets with it.

      • Airlines dont care about W. Its Wh and the limit is 100Wh. so this brick will only have about 74Wh which is standard for most 20k MaH bricks unless the internal voltage is different from most lithium ion batts which isnt the case here.

It's crazy how difficult it is to find out if a made in China powerbank is of the type that gets confiscated by Chinese airlines.

      • Indeed. I have the same problem

      • -1

        It's not that difficult really.
        No CCC = confiscated

And it's not confiscated by the airlines, but by the security

    • The answer is no.

This model is a bit older. Only pretty recent models would even have it.

Usually can confirm CCC by just searching in amazon reviews.

    • One suggestion is if you are going china to just buy one there, they're a lot cheaper!

      I got the PB725 / https://www.lulian.cn/product/1239.html for around 160CNY off taobao or around AU$33.

Though that might've been a lucky sale.
Also I got a UGreen 10K mah 22.5W PowerBank for around $13 too.

Both obviously triple CCC as is sold in China.

Why not UGREEN 145W Nexode Power Bank 20000mAh Fast Charging instead for $69.99 ($59.99 with coupon)

    • +2

Because that has no display and a built in cable.

      • I have this 145w one and it has a display and built in cable which can charge at 100W and shows % battery left while charging or discharging.

        • What's the model number it lists on the PowerBank?

  • +12

I really like this brand and own a significant number of their products. However, I have to unfortunately report that this powerbank started smoking and almost lit my mates house on fire. Spontaneous and genuinely random. Just be aware. I will say that even though this occurred at the 9th month of ownership, Amazon immediately refunded me with the video evidence (really obvious with smoke coming out of it).

Thanks, non buy for me then, powerbanks are little bombs and any hint of issue - not worth the risk.

      Thanks for the feedback

      terrible habit tbh

at least try and convince it to get on the vapes

Was it in use? Or just idle.

    • must've been a bad batch or poorly handled/used. Albeit i think all power banks are ticking time bombs due to the battery chemistry and how much they squeeze to the smaller form factors.

I've had mine since Nov 2024 till now and it's been on many overseas trips and used frequently and it's not had any concerns so far. With that being said - it's not immune to it and the moment battery swells or so - i'll be throwing it out. At the moment when it's stored, it's in a dry cool environment - anytime it's being used - it's out in the open so it won't over heat. When it's being topped up - proper cables + charger to be minimize risk.

No matter what though if the batteries starts to swell, it's your sign to get rid of it before thermal runaway causes it to go kaboom. Regardless of brand.

Examples; my old samsung S6 and S8 not even being used, just left there on a desk idling for 3 yrs, suddenly batteries swelled. Same as my MS Surface and I had to safely remove the battery and dispose of it.

  • If you going to china they will check ccc logo, even in transit.

    • isn't it strange that its made over there and not allowed to bring back over there?

      • Its strange, maybe the new version of power banks have ccc logo? It was not mandatory until August 2024.

    • Even in transit (without leaving airport)? I heard it was only for domestic flights. Have the rules changed? Keen to know as I have a transit in Guangzhou Airport on my upcoming trip.

      • I was recently in international transit at Tianfu Airport, where, during the pre flight security checks, staff were rigorously checking power banks for the CCC logo. Luckily I had one with the logo. Maybe rule applies only to domestic flights and the staff were unclear, or that the rules have recently changed I am not sure. But better to carry with the CCC logo to be on the safe side

      • When i was exiting/flying out of guangzhou airport like two months ago, at security scan i asked secuirty person if ccc is required for international and they said it's not so (so it seems atleast that person i spoke to is aware of the current policy) maybe i worried over nothing not bringing my iniu 45w 10k non ccc powerbank.

But I got a ugreen 10k mah powerbank ccc off taobao for $13ish aud whilst i was there so wouldn't have to worry about it in the future.

Also got basically a newer model? or similar of laptop level PowerBank

        PB725 / https://www.lulian.cn/product/1239.html

Was around $35AUD/160CNY so tbh if you're going to china you might as well buy it there, it's insane how much cheaper some stuff is compared to overseas.

  • What are these 100w+ battery banks for? Laptops? Only Chinese phones can charge that fast; in Australia, Samsung and iPhones only hit 55w. These battery banks are overkill for our phones.

    • Yes high draw laptops
Or being able to power multiple devices at the same time

    • I use it for my laptop and my Canon Selphy printer mainly.

  • Maybe unlucky but mine was a dud, turns off quickly without charging, bought mine for charging Rc batteries with a portable charger but doesn’t charge anything not even an iphone

  • +1

    It's now $85.95 on a flash sale

If you use UBANK10 then it's only $75.95

    • If you use a ubank debit card

  • This powerbank is really good. Super fast charging and heaps of capacity.

  • I ordered this for my kids and it was originally scheduled for delivery on Saturday. I’ve now received an update saying that I requested a delay, which I’m not sure how that happened. It’s also showing the delivery date as currently unavailable. Weird.
