I wouldn’t say the Coles Express is a decent discount. The fuel prices are generally higher than my local 7/11 (about 3-5c/L higher) and the prices in store at Coles Express are higher than Coles itself
i found this as well. especially when doing fuel lock (even without the old chopper antics)
The nearest 20 Coles (Reddy) and 7-11 to me are all exactly the same price. The 21st one is 1c cheaper.
Spending $5 in-store is a false economy. You'd normally be better off just spending that at a supermarket and find a discount petrol station for your fuel.
But every station is basically the same price now. There are a handful of cheaper ones but unless you would be passing them anyway it may not be worth it to detour.
If you have a 125L tank, the $5 spend is effectively free.
Who has a 125L tank though?
Not me.
Surely only trucks, large 4wds or one of those over-compensating, douche-driven Canyoneros like the RAM TRX.
@AnneThrope: look they say it's 125L, but I've never been able to get 125L into it.
please remember that personal attacks will get you into the penalty box
I used to have around 130, I forget if the tank was 60 or 70, but I had the normal fuel tank in my car, and then an additional 60 litre gas tank, for me, with that car, buying a Cherry Ripe and a Coke would not just be free, but knock a little bit off the overall total too. There were times when my youngest was still on the bottles, that we'd buy milk at the servo (one of the handful of items with the same price as the supermarket) to get the fiver done because we knew we'd have to buy it anyway, just made sense.
Got a mate who runs an excavator hire business and he does the same thing, every time you fill the trucks up, it's worth grabbing a Mars Bar and a Pepsi.
Within 5 minutes drive of my house there is a 10c per litre difference in regular unleaded (more for premium fuels) and 10 minutes away that up to 20c per litre difference. That's in Sydney but it may not apply if you live more regionally.
Although I appreciate the sentiment of sharing this to save some money, my concern is that this may actually be counterproductive.
For example, some of the data in the image is wrong.
Coles Express does not exist anymore. (It has been rebranded to Reddy Express.)
Only around 40% of Ampol Foodary service stations accept the Woolworths fuel discount offer (4c/L in mainland Australia, 6c/L in TAS). In other words, if you turn up to an Ampol Foodary service station, chances are it will not accept the Woolworths fuel discount. Source.
The EG Ampol discount maximum discounts are wrong. If you scan a RACV membership card and a Woolworths fuel voucher (either via an Everyday Rewards card or a paper fuel voucher), you only get a 6c/L discount. I have no idea why the image says 9-10c/L. Additionally, if you scan a RACV membership and a Woolworths fuel voucher and spend $5 in-store on eligible items, you will only save 10c/L. The RACV discount works at EG Ampol service stations across Australia. Source. If redeemed at EG Ampol in TAS, the maximum discount increases by 2c/L, because the Woolworths fuel discount in TAS is 6c/L.
I have no idea why the image says against the second "Coles Express" entry that you need an My NRMA app. My NRMA does not offer any fuel discounts at "Coles Express". Source.
Some of the other data in the image has requirements or assumptions not mentioned on the image.
All these offers are in-store only. If you pay via an app instead (e.g. Ampol FuelPay, Scan Pump Save, EG Club app), the available fuel discounts will change.
The in-store component of the Ampol Foodary 13c/L offer requires you to spend $5 in-store on eligible items in a prior visit, then wait for My NRMA to increase your My NRMA fuel discount to 8c/L (which can take up to three days). In other words, in the transaction you spend $5 in-store, you will not actually save 4c/L in that transaction. Additionally, the 13c/L offer assumes you are purchasing premium fuels; if you instead purchase regular fuels, you can only get 12c/L off. Source.
Some of these fuel discounts require a third-party account or membership (e.g. My NRMA, RACV, Linkt) that may or may not have ongoing costs associated with it.
OzBargain already has a Fuel Discounts wiki that covers many more fuel discounts than shown on the image.
its an AI slop image, the brand logos arent even right
what are y'all spending for the $20 shell in store that isnt gonna be a rip-off ?
Flame hats… 2 for $10… Celine Dion CD's…
Rainbow coloured blow torch or pistol shaped cigarette lighter??
(Let's see if anyone gets that reference…)
10 coffees
are you shouting the ozb regulars?
Sodastream replacement cylinders at Coles Express. I can't be bothered doing the big tank thing that people do, so the cylinders are convenient and you get the discount on the fuel.
$20 in store?? So a Kit Kat and a small bottle of Pepsi?
So, you're saying that I need to spend $50 to save $11 on a 50 Litre full up. Nice…
and thats how inflation goes up
No savings in here
Can sign up as a new user to the EG app for 5c/L discount and also stack with woolworths 4c/L discount for a total of 9c/L discount. Can then get discounted EG or Wish gift cards for extra 5% off with a seniors card (or 4% off with RACV)
Where is the bargain I can’t see any ?
No one mentioned Costco Fuel?
If you live close to a Costco, you can easily get your money back for Membership with a few fills.
The savings are typically 20¢/L compared to other fuel stations.

What's their current price for U91 ?
250.7 at my local Costco (Epping, VIC) vs 259.9 at "Major" nearby servos, but Astron is 249.9 and Apco is 252.9 so Costco is not really that cheap if you have other "discount" petrol brands in your area.
Use the Petrol Spy app is the best advice I reckon.
250.7 at my local Costco
251.9 at Coles Express… Hardly a 20¢/L saving…
@jv: Not a single Coles Express in Melbourne is 251… The entire map is lit up with 259 as cheapest.
But of course jv will travel for fuel, just to make a point 😉

Yes, but pretty much everyone can get 8cents off…
If you don't know how, hand in your OzBargain licence.
Can also get EG and/or ampolcash gift cards at a discount. And everyday rewards app sometimes has additional offers.
However all of these discounts were available before the price of fuel went up, meaning that they're not really providing any "new" help.
I usually only need to fill up once every 5-6 weeks. Last fill I paid around $1.35/L after stacking everything. I panic-bought a third of a tank at $1.99 which appears to have been a good decision, now that everywhere is $2.59 (so maybe like $2.30/L after stacking discounts).
Telstra App has a discount link and Everyday Rewards has a bonus points offer
LOL "Help4People" yeah right, spend money in a petrol station which has insane mark ups to get a few cents off your fuel.
you gotta be kidding me.
