With current launch price of $36,990 plus on road costs (I estimate at $2,500), makes the J5 EV effectively $35k. Even better than the last deal at https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/941327

However you need to pick up by 30th of April. The latest I'm hearing from John Hughes Vic Park (in Perth, WA), next cars are not available until at least July. So contact your nearest dealership to see if you can have the car delivered before then.

    Well, no, there's an interest rate, a monthly fee, and other admin fees with a novated lease.
    Plus, you have a balloon payout at the end of the lease.

      Yes but also you can claim a lot of in on tax and depending on tax bracket it's possible to be out ahead even more then buying outright when you factor in the value of putting the cash into an offset or HISA.

      Yeah as fremeer said with the FBT exemption on electric cars for many people buying EVs on a novated lease it'll work out cheaper than $35k. Depends on how much you drive and what tax bracket you're in

      the importance there is that the interest rate is good. Every car putsches option has an interest rate because everyone has an opportunity cost of funds (ie. offsetting your mortgage, money in a savings account, money in the stock market). It's wrong to assume there are no additional costs to paying cash vs debt.

    Is anyone know now all new delivery comes with spare wheel as last month I visited to the Dealer there was no spare wheel. They have spot/space for spare wheel but no actual spare wheel in the car. Which is strange to be honest.

    Sorry guys I just contacted my dealership and they said this promotion is just removal of GST, which is available for all cars under a novated lease anyway. Poop deal

      Yeh it definitely isn't and the dealer doesn't know what they're talking about/just doesn't want to offer a discount with the current climate. Would be incredibly misleading if so, and even on a 5 year term you don't get all of the GST removed (you have to pay gst on top of ay residual, so it'd work out to be about 7% discount on a 5 year term).

      I purchased one about 6 weeks ago and they said that with the NV discount is only comes down to just under $36k as the $36,990 is a promo price already. I did manage to get it for $35k drive away after a bit of back and forth, but those days are likely done in the current climate

        Thanks for sharing your experience. Yeah looks like with the current supply and demand imbalance, there's no incentive for a dealership to honour this anymore, especially with the deal ending tomorrow.

    Anyone have any experience with these? OK range with 8 year warranty, 8 year roadside and price point makes them appealing.

      I would not trust long warranty promises from new brands. At least half of these new Chinese brands will disappear in the near future. They can easily close up shop when it’s no longer profitable and leave owners with no parts and no software updates…

    I think there is confusion with the two offers:
    1) $36,990 drive away, free premium paint, till 30/4/2026 (this was previously first 1000, then first 2000 orders, now extended).
    2) Separate offer, 10% off inclusive of GST price ($35,990 base becomes $32,391 inclusive of GST, plus on road costs, and cost of premium paint if you choose) if you are going through novated lease. They do ask for proof of Novated Lease documentation. This offer is currently not date limited, as far as I can tell.

    Have just ordered one with the 10% novated lease deal.
    As above its 10% off the $35990 RRP before on road costs and dealer delivery charge.
    Once you add those onto the discounted price it brings it back up to just under 36k. Dealer delivery is $995.
    The $36990 deal included dealer delivery and on road costs. So the $36990 intro price is also quite good considering the RRP is $35990 before on road costs.
    They also honour the free premium paint option for this deal as we got white with black interior. I prefer the standard stone grey exterior paint but the wife thinks it blends into the environment a bit too much.
    My delivery is an eta of 30 June but we will see how that goes considering the EV sales lately.

      Oh that's interesting, thanks for sharing. I wonder if the delivery fee is dealer specific. I got the intro $36990 offer and was feeling jipped that my dealership wouldnt change me over to the 10% off offer.

      I got the stone grey, looks nice, will pick up on 17th april. Ordered back in December but held off pick up for personal reasons

        I know, I was amazed, was willing to purchase at dealer price ($36990), I saw an ad, clicked on it. and got this price ($34800). The site is Motor scout https://www.motorscout.com.au/. 1st time I have ever used them, no way affiliated. They say they will beat any price! They sure did. Recommended, offer comes from a dealer there are no additional fees, you dont pay anything to motorscout.

          Word of advice they deal with buy ready people - i.e. you know which 2 models you want, and are in the checkout to buy once they give quote.

            I suggested Motorscout to a family member and they got from $35990 to $36500.
            4 offers all up.
