Fantastic case to then put nothing into… :)

    • Yeah ideal case to fill with Ram

    • Buy now save later? Not that great if a deal any way

Mine sits empty in the living room next to my wooden TV cabinet looking pretty. One day I might put stuff inside.

How does a 61L+ case only have room for 1 HDD when using any moderately decent PSU?

PC cases should get cheaper anyway. They are high-margin products and no one is building PCs.

    • I so desperately want a better looking fractal define r5/r7..

      • I'm still on my R5 from 2016… want a new one with a few tweaks here and there.

        • I swapped from R5 to Meshify 2 when on sale for $99, adding better front inlet and USB C, kept the hard disk trays from R5

      Because most people use SSDs

      • Average build these days has 0 HDDs and an nvme drive, so why not eliminate every 2.5" and 3.5" bay? Most people only use 1x pci-e slot, so why do mobos still ship with multiple?

Because a PC is a general purpose device, and if you can fit 4, add 4 (profanity) bays. 20 years ago it was normal for cases to come with far more bays then was used by a particular demographic, motherboards to come with far more expansion slots, etc, and it was far better. Now almost no decent general purpose cases are coming out - instead we get little more than a GPU shroud.

    • You only need 1 HDD these days. It has 2x 2.5” slots for ssds, and most ppl would just be using M.2 drives also.

I take it you're a 'gamer' since that's the only audience I can think of that wants 1 HDD in a PC.

Most others could use more HDDs, or would just use a laptop with 0 HDDs.

Can't think of an audience that needs more than 1 HDD outside videographers or data hoarders. In that case, find a different case or get a NAS 😄

@n00t: "Anybody that wants to plug in a second HDD is a data hoarder".

            Piercing insight there.

  • This or a antec flux pro

    • +1

I bought the antec flux for my build, white with the wood trim. Fantastic case to build in and lots of space

I think this looks a lot nicer personally.

    • This one should be noticeable smaller than Antec Flux Pro. I'm currently looking for E-ATX case with 420 radiator on the top, and Flux pro is one of the two I found that can hold those, the other one is ASUS ProArt 602.

This one is ATX size with maximum 2*140mm fans on the top

    • Flux Pro blows this away in cooling but aesthetically the North looks better. The build quality of the North isn't very good though, considering the MSRP.

  • Only $30 off?

  • Fractal design cases are nice. They had none in stock when I was building my PC so I was stuck with garbage corsair case that somewhat fit my requirements. Definitely not as good quality or as well designed as the fractal cases I have used before.

Fractal Cases are nice looking but they suck in terms of performance.

      • They do suck read gamers nexus.

If on a budget and mATX is sufficient check out the black/wood Okinos Cypress 3
I got one for my server and was quite impressed with its value for money.

    • My GPU can't fit inside that case.

  • Just note that if you get the tempered glass you dont get the pwn fan hub, it will cost you extra as opposed to when you buy the mesh side panel.

I have this in the white. Looks great paired with the Keychron K10 in the same white wood combo

I use this case. It’s fantastic. Gorgeous design, wood panelling at the front is lovely.

Interestingly it’s not as roomy as it looks at first glance - but I think that’s the case with all cases eventually. I recall needing to get a thinnest 4080 I could for this case - the 4080 MSI ventus - to fit it into this case with the side fan intakes that come with the case.

In the end, my cpu cooler didn’t quite fit with the side fan intakes so I took them out in the end and hilariously the 4080 is so cool that I never would have needed them anyway. Live and learn.

Anyways, crowded for its overall size, but 10/10 for style and build quality and can recommend.

    • The side intake fans are a nice gimmick but only typically affect temperatures by about 2 degrees Celsius. Without them however its plenty roomy - fit my 7900XTX Sapphire Radeon nicely.

      • Yeah totally. I was coming from the 1080 and didn’t have much experience with temps on newer PCs, and if I had known the 4080 was so cool I would never have bothered.

        Good case.

        • +1

I came from the 1080 also. And to be honest the only reason I didn't mount the side fans was because I accidentally broke one of the 140mm fins by sticking a finger into it. Live and let learn hey

  • Bought a refurbished for $180. wish me luck
