Saw this movie in cinemas - didn’t like it at all as an action movie fan

    • what about Jason momoa Dave bautista drive Primevideo punch shoot action movie "Wrecking Crew"?

it's on my wishlist but I'm still not sure if it will be good or not.

Never heard of it before. Looks like it released in cinemas and lost money. Currently it has grossed $71.9 million worldwide on a budget of $90 million.

It’s a solid watch. A cross between Heat and Drive. Doesn’t reach the heights of either but still enjoyable.

  • One of the better films to release this year so far. I saw day 1 at the cinema.

Saw it at the cinemas. Fell asleep half way through, never done that at the cinemas before.

Shame as the cast was solid.

    • My mom goes to the cinema just to have a place to sleep for 90 minutes in the day. Maybe you're just getting old.

      • 23 going on 63 :)

        • Whoa, thay escalated quickly. Hahaha

    • Maybe it was worth it if it was a good sleep!

Worst part is that it wasnt! Village cinemas, most uncomfortable seats!

HOYTS is the way to go, reclining seats!

        • +1

Hoyts regular reclining seats are great! For a movie or sleep!

  • hold on amazon haven't watched Caught Stealing yet!

This movie is way too long and half delivers on everything it sets out to do.

  • Watched it on Stremio a few days ago, solid performing action flick. Not really into car chase scenes but these ones were enjoyable

  • Solid movie. Not great.

Okay film. Missed a few things that could have made it great, didn't really know what it wanted to be.

Felt this was marketed wrong. Not really a fast action movie, more a slow burn, introspective, pensive type flick. Could have been a psychological drama with a few tweaks to the plot. Found it enjoyable, though way too long.

  • 89% on rotten tomatoes… you'd think it was Oscar material with a score like that but it certainly won't be winning any Oscars. I'd give it a solid 6.5 though. Worth a watch for free. Great acting, decent cinematography, script ok but nothing special, and the plot is what really lets it down unfortunately.

6.5 means you would probably give it a "fresh" rating too like like almost 9 out of 10 critics. RT is poor as it doesn't care if you go above that minimum threshold. Handy to find crowd pleasers but pretty useless at discerning great films.

FWIW I agree with everything you said and was disappointed because they were playing in my favourite subgenres, film locations, aesthetic and just didn't nail it. A proper "almost" movie.

      • Yea for sure, I wanted to like it as well. It had a really good opening. Don't know why but it reminded me of Heat with the night shots and the ambient sounds. Then it just kind of trailed off into a big mess. The good guy didn't know if he was a bad guy and the bad guy was trying to be a good guy. Then there were the stories like those of the jewellers at the start that just went nowhere and made you wonder why they put them in there in the first place.

Thanks OP, I’m watching it now

  • Just watched it last night. One of the most memorable movies I've seen in a while. Highly recommended. Amazing acting and choreography.

    • Choreography? Did you watch an interpretive dance version of it?

  • I saw it at the cinema. Enjoyable. A few weak (hard to believe) spots with the character relationships but they didn't wreck the main plot line. Last action scene is exiting to bring it to a conclusion.
