Anytime , anywhere any part of that movie you play and I'll be glued to that screen

        Are you me?

Ahem… Snowpiercer is on a whole different level, in the worst way. I wouldn’t recommend it, not even as an ironic watch.

        The series was really good

    • worst movie I have ever seen

What are you saaaying man!….it's got Kung Fu in it.

It is on my list as some of the best along with Shaolin Soccer,

Bill Murray said that Kung Fu Hustle is a supreme achievement, and that there should have been a day of morning for American comedy the day that movie came out.

You don't have to like it, but he loves it.

      • +1

Watched it (again) last night, it's a cracker from start to finish! imho

    • Yeah you haven't seen anything then.

    • +2

Cool, can’t wait to see Alf

  • +1

is this the version that has missing scenes?

  • -3

Stephen chow's less popular movies (in the West) are better than these, although rather crude, especially by today's standards

  • +7

    It's been 22 years?!

  • +3

Just get the Blu-ray remux. I'm sure it looks better than 720p

    Cantonese with English subtitles.

This is by far the superior of the three options

(Iirc there is a mando dub, an English dub and the og Canto)

    • English dub just makes me want to watch kung pow! instead.

Also on netflix, its a great movie, can recommend . Though you do need to be an asian, or have an asian mindset , or understand the asian mindset to appreciate and understand the subtle nuances and humour. One who watches "Home and away or ""neighbours is better off not watching this, would be a waste of time for them.

    • Agreed. If you didn’t grow up in the era and culture , it has admittedly limited appeal.

    • -6

Uh yes us gweilo will never understand your slapstick humour china numba wan

      • +1

If you don’t get it, you don’t get it. No need to be sour

    • +2

slap stick humor works cross culture imho. Some nuances might get missed, but one would be fine missing those - it's not required to understand the movie.

    • It's hardly a battle of Chinese puns and double-entendre like The Flirting Scholar was and even that was enjoyable. I smiled at least 3 times.

    Absurdly great movie

watched this twice. 1st time hated it. 2nd time didn't hate it. shaolin soccer and god of cookery were more memorable

  • I literally had looked for this over the weekend! Love it!

  • -1

This one seems like the most well known, but I didn't like it that much. He had a bit of a formula for a while - lowly person gets beat down upon in life then gets good at X and becomes successful. God of Cookery is my favourite.

Wish they would upload the Young and Dangerous series with their original subtitling. Used to love watching them in the 90s on SBS but cant find a copy with decent eng subs since.

    • +2

I’m picking it up. “Sala” seems to mean jerk, and I think “Manjula” is some kind of spaceship.

  • Brilliant movie.

  • +6

    Who's throwing handles!?

  • Is it subtitled or is it dubbed? Dubbed version is best!

    • +2

I assume that is sarcasm? dubbed is unwatchable.

      • I thought it was alright…

        • I can't do the dubbed version at all, my mind when watching is constantly telling me something is wrong as the sound is out of sync with the mouths. I would rather watch with no sound and no subtitles before watching as dubbed.

    LOL Classic movie!!!

i love this movie, absolutely amazing

  • THAT'S A LOT OF NUTS

Dragons Forever is on SBS too, another great film.

Watched it as a kid. Thought the movie was fun. Watched it as an adult still feel the same. If you love this you would love Shaolin soccer too.

  • Last time I played SBS media on my Sony TV Android app, it let me fast forward ads. not sure if its fixed. Worth a try if your interested.

  • Still one of the best but not as good as when I was young I guess I'm old now

    • You’re prob younger than many of us here

      • +1

I started to have neck pain and more. I am not young anymore. Here we have someone as young as 14.

Free to Stream with Ads - isn't that just watching regular TV?

  • If you dont have the money them Amazon is the place to go. It may not be as good as thee products but is a lot cheaper and does a good enough job

  • May The Beast R.I.P…

  • -1

It's a bad movie? I liked it more the 2nd time around!. Its better if you understand the Wuxia references but some scenes are just funny no matter what - them trying to throw the knife at the landlord, that had me in stitches!

  • How the paradigm of the world has changed, a movie on telly with ads is now a bargain.

  • Such a good movie! I'll have to throw the DVD in the PlayStation again soon
